    I heard this song for the first time in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 2011. when it was played by three street musicians dressed in medieval clothing. I have tried to find this many times during the last 8 years by searching ''Ave Maria''. Now I've finally succeeded.

      Exactly! I even have a recording of those three musicians somewhere. I particularly remember the one that was then performing a solo on glass bottles filled with water :-) I think theirs was the best performance of this song I ever heard.

      You should listen to other versions of this song as this is more of a contemporary interpretation. The ones by Jordi Savall and Philip Picket are the best I think.

    Jak słucham tej pieśni w różnych zresztą wykonaniach, to widzę, to dotykam ogromnej SIŁY Europy. Myślę sobie wtedy - jesteśmy wielkim kontynentem i ogromnie bogatą, silną cywilizacją, trzeba tylko zbudzić tą siłę, która gdzieś na chwilę się jakby schowała i została przysłonięta przez miałkie ideologie. Nie mniej jednak, jak się słucha takich pieśni, to słychać oddech drzemiącej gdzieś nieopodal potęgi.

      Kiedy ja słyszę tę piesn myślę sobie o wszystkich burzliwych dziejach, które musieliśmy przeżyć żebyśmy w końcu wyszli cywilizacyjnie do jakiegoś normalnego pokoju i widzę przed sobą piękno nowego świata, który oparty będzie na pokoju i nie będzie wspominał wojen inaczej niż dziwnych czasów ujętych w kulturze

    • @carrl8832
      @carrl8832 4 года назад +10

      Religion is an expression of the hight of human emotion; of hope, desire and transcendence. Its power leads to ecstatis - hence its beauty - and it also leads to desires so strong they warrant (in the human mind) horrible sacrifices - hence the bloodshed. It's the peak of the human's mind powers of creation hence naught can stand in it's way - something intangible and grander beyond all worldly things will always make you love, hate, desire, reject. It is because it takes as many forms as there are people in the world. And at the hight of our emotions and beliefs, we are capable to show the deepest sides of our humanity - in love and hate alike. If anything, religion is the peak of human nature.
