  • Edward King, cellist, performs Pampeana No. 2 by Alberto Ginastera at the Awards Concert of the Australian Cello Awards, held on Sunday 30 March at Verbrugghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
    Adjudicators for the Awards Concert were John Painter AM (Chair), Susan Blake, Catherine Hewgill, Goetz Richter, Benjamin Schwartz and Nathan Waks. The compere was Greg Lenthen.
    The mission of the Australian Cello Awards (ACA) is to provide opportunities for Australian and New Zealand cellists: to advance their careers as orchestral cellists, chamber music artists or soloists.
    The Awards feature the Allen-Evans Scholarship (the 'Allen-Evans'), valued up to AUD $15,000, as well as a number of other scholarships, awards and prizes specifically designed to help the career development of cellists aged between 18 and 30 years.
