Business as usual during the 2023 UAW Strike. Had a great September with 20 vehicles delivered and a handful of factory orders written.

Wow, gotta say I’m surprised that 4Runner dude switched to a blazer. Toyota buyers are typically pretty loyal to the brand, but Dave will do well as he should be able to sell that 4runner for big money.
Yea I was shocked too, that 4 runner would have probably outlasted the owner lol, hopefully he has a good warranty on that blazer, I am waiting on the new Toyota Land Cruiser
It'll be the first and last Chevy hell buy.
😂
He’ll be back
Me too 😂😂

6:40 As a salesman myself, I felt for the guy behind you on the phone where it seemed like the customer hung up on him when informed a specific car wasn't there.
Hey Dave, thank you for featuring my Bolt EUV (0:40)! I appreciated the seamless delivery process that made the long wait since 10/15/2022 worth it! I am enjoying it tremendously and only wish I had bought another one. Now that GM has yet again extended the production through December, maybe few more people that placed the order with you will be able to get a hold of one. Hope UAW strike does not spread to the Lake Orion, MI plant.
Awesome deal you got ⭐
Your going to love that car. No more gas ⛽️!
Yeah, and no sales tax and inspections in New Jersey for EVs!
Enjoy the Bolt!!
The 4Runner will sell very quickly and at a premium prices.
You got that right. It makes more sense to buy one new than used these days. Down here in Alabama - used 2021 - 2023's with anywhere from 30k to 70k miles fetch nearly as much as MSRP on a new one. There is a reason though!
People love to overpay for used Toyota's.
Yea every mechanic on earth with tell you go with the Toyota, you literally pay for the reliability
That Toyota 4 Runner awesome vehicle.
Agreed
I’m a GM Financial Credit Analyst. Keep gong strong!
Good trade on the white Toyota 💙. I have a feeling the only reason the customer got rid of it was because of fuel economy or monthly payments. Hopefully a customer is delighted and so is the dealership.
dave is a hustler and that makes money!! great job my friend!!
Nice work Dave!
Thanks!
The 4runner us the only toyota that is still built in Japan for the us market
Toyota Crown, Venza and Prius are all made in Japan as well. Also the prime version of the rav4, the Corolla GR and corolla hybrid.
@SunnynPhilly ohhh yes.. I should of said body on Frame suv lol
Dang! This reminded of your pre pandemic videos. Customers all over the place! hopefully a sign of things getting back to normal
Car's have come along way my friend. Thanks again for your time.
As a car detailer for three years at a dealership. Thank you for saying throw the garbage away. It is annoying the trash the salesman or manager to leave in the car.
👍
Yep
I dig that Equinox. That’s definitely nice!!
Good video. The 4Runner, much like the Wrangler, are “marketing image” vehicles for many customers. They aspire to the off road look/lifestyle and functionality, but then once they get into driving them everyday, they quickly learn they are relatively rough riders and are built on traditional truck frames. Great for off roading, but most are lucky to get parked in the grass once or twice. There are exceptions, but why people are sometimes eager to get out of them. I agree that the rear tailgate window that goes down is the best part for non off roaders. A trait that goes way back on those. More SUV’s should have that feature.
Can you please do an update on your parents 2011 Silverado that had a transmission failure?
Taking my 2023 Kia Sorento SX Prestige on a road trip from Los Angeles to New York on Monday would take the wife’s 2022 Tahoe RST but it’s having issues lately so not risking it
@9:40 , because he bit off more than he could chew. Reality set in. Happens to alot of people. They have big dreams and small pocketbooks.
Hey Dave, As always great video..The white Toyota four runner looked really nice. The blazer is a nice car. I think your boss may have wanted a change. Have a beautiful day ❤️
When Dave was a kid a Suburban had a roll down rear window and a tailgate.
That’s so cool I had a spot delivery and had 4 test drives so not bad busy day our month ends on Saturday tho but I got a lot of test drives for Monday
Just ordered my 2024 Corvette! Estimated delivery in early 2024. Hopefully the KY plant doesn't jump on the blackmail strike!
Congrats what specs did you order on you C8?
Thanks! @MSRP ~ $94.7k. Didn't go crazy -- wanted it to be classy. Convertible 2LT, Mystic red with the tan and black interior, red seat belts, black five spoke wheels, performance exhaust, magnetic ride, low profile rear spoiler and front split, front lift, and a few other minor options. Recently watched the entire DaveB two hour episode on running through all the features of the vehicle. Don't feel like I need to read the manual now. Can't wait!!
Hope UAW strike won’t effect build 🙏
Yeah it don’t matter that my brothers and sisters putting your fat lard a** vehicle together don’t get COLA or living wage and live in two tier country, long as you get your Vette. 🐖
Congrats hope your C8 arrives soon.
Great that you're moving cars! Have you seen a slowing yet of vehicles coming in?
Vehicles have been slow to come in for the last year, year and a half so things dont feel any different as of yet.
Congrats on all the sales!
Thank you!!
Maybe your buddy traded down from the Blazer to the Equinox in order to save money on gas & insurance??? Or to get a lower monthly payment???
Dave getting business done, even during a UAW strike. Sure wish Oklahoma had $4K in rebates for EV's... but being a oil-producing state they do nothing for EV buyers.
That 4 Runner is 🔥🔥🔥
Nice video Dave. I see a number of videos that are quite negative about the car market these days. I just bought a 2018 Mercedes Sprinter for my work, since the lease on my Metris was over and a buyer has to do what they need to do. If it wasn’t for my business needing a vehicle I wouldn’t buy a vehicle now but a person has to do what they think is right for them.
Most of it is negative content for clicks.. Such a sorry situation. Been seeing that the auto industry would go under for 3 years now and here I am still selling cars doing great.
I can't believe my local Chevy dealership added $10k to a Chevy Trax. A Trax!! 🤦
Crooks!
Name and shame the dealer!
@@s99614 cumming Chevrolet San Diego. They don't list their mark ups until you get there physically. Even over the phone they'll tell you the base price and then once there: "oops we forgot the market adjustment"
Name and shame wont matter... we compete with many dealers charging over and they are all still selling vehicles
@@DaveBsellsChevy can't fix stupid, but you can vaccinate it. As long as people are willing to pay it, (over msrp) it will not stop. These are the same people who trade in months later after they wake up and realize their mistake.
Its a Rogue Sport… not sure why thats bothering me, but it is
He should have kept the 4Runner, that Blazer will be in the wrecking yard 10 years from now whereas the 4Runner will still be worth 20k “No low ballers, I know what I got”
Doesn't matter, it's a lease so he won't own it in 10 years
@@DaveBsellsChevy you cant buy it after lease is over?
I ended the month at 18. 1 year anniversary of being in automotive sales on the 12 of this month. Most I’ve done since being in the business.
Nice! Great work
How or who determines what happens to a vehicle that is traded in? What or how is it determined if the dealership keeps it for resale or if it is sent to auction? Maybe a topic for a future video?
usually miles / condition
QUESTION- what is your market adjustment price increase and your dealer add ons and the prices for dealer add ons?
We currently dont have any add ons or market adjustment ... all we charge is a $389 documentation fee
That EUV Bolt is over 45k Canadian and in Ontario only qualifies for the 5k fed rebate. EVs are just so unaffordable here in Ontario, Canada
If I was in your area I would def come to talk to you about buying a new car. Good for you for the month__ keep up the great work 👍
Nice work Dave!!!
Thanks!
The ownership and the service department are probably more affected/worried about the strike, especially since the parts distributors are one of the groups currently out,
Great review Dave
Tahoe RST is definitely on my short list
Same, absolutely love those Tahoe RSTs, especially in black…
Lease is to much even at dealer cost 😂❤ the videos
lol, pretty much.
Any update on your parents silverado? I’ve been curious ever since you posted that video lol
New transmission and service tech started the job this past Friday
Doesn't driving with that back open window lead to a risk of exhaust gasses entering the passenger compartment? I thought that rear window opening was dangerous in square-back vehicles. I would be interested in what others think if they have experience in this area.
Congrats on selling 20 cars in one month .. your commission must = $10,000-$20,000 in one month !! As a long time Automotive Stats guys .. I don't know why GM allows a Oct 2 delivery to count as a Sept sale ??? Hyundai/Kia/Toyota/Honda etc and a few others should report their monthly sales reports on Monday, Oct 2. I know GM and a few others only report quarterly now but any sale after Sept 30 should count for the next quarter- quarter 4. That is like giving certain NFL teams extra time to score more points in a football game or allowing MLB baseball team go for 11 innings.
He probably thought the blazer was going to be like the bronco an off road vehicle and then realized it was a Chevy Cruz but suv form
Actually like the black steelies on the Suburban.
Wait ... one of us lucky commenters can OWN SAL'S BLAZER?!? Will he sign the dashboard if we buy it?
Looks like they send you all the black Chevys.
My dealership doesn't have 1 ounce of your enthusiasm.
Wow...I may get into car sales...looks like an easy way to make a buck !
I enjoy it
Hi Dave. Am a Ford sales guy. How's this strike affecting both your new vehicles and your parts? Our shop went heavy on stocking parts.... Today, Saturday we did 18 units. 9 and 9 if remember correctly.
So far it hasn't been all that bad for sales. We do have some service clients waiting for parts that haven't shipped
I think the equinox is a bit underpowered. I have a four cylinder 2023 Blazer 1LT and, with the turbo, it gets good highway mileage (32 mpg plus on my last vacation) and has plenty of power. The equinox is cheaper and do come nicely equipped.
That’s an easy one. Sal is in management and managers are always making mistakes.😅
LOL
You escaped the monsoons on Saturday a little bit east of you.
Yea, we got rain but not as bad as NYC
You remind me of Chevy Dude. Brothers from another mother?
Haha, yea I get that. Maybe we should do a collab??
Hope you closed that back window in the 4Runner!! lol
13:22 it is closed
Dave, do you ever tire of the new car smell?
I think I am immune to it, lol
so far, the plants that make the Colorado, Traverse are on strike, the Malibu plant is closed due to a parts shortage, and the parts distribution centers are on strike, gonna be hell on dealers and customers alike
Good. Maybe then the workers will get their point across. Customers and dealers start seeing it's the worker making the product that the customers and dealers need to either buy or sell then maybe they'll see the workers are who's important.
Dave, whats up with these rumors about Colorados and Silverados being bricked by OTA updates? Are you guys seeing that issue at your dealership?
I'm currently on my third Silverado and all have been great trucks but this issue is kinda making me nervous about buying another.
How long are Tahoe orders currently taking to be built, on average?
8 months or so from the time we take a deposit.. (maybe shorter depending on how many we have in line)... I took the deposit on the RST in this video in March 2023
So as a Blazer owner why did that dude trade for the Equinox?
Hey Dave - Wow - busy day! Hey there’s a Fisker Ocean has all of the open windows that you like, and it’s an EV!
Just checked out the Fisker Ocean.. Look pretty cool!
I’m shocked someone traded such a new Toyota 4Runner. I’ve owned 2 Chevy’s, I baby my cars, so I don’t have problems with most of them. But why did he trade in 22 4Runner, when you got people in line trying to buy new Toyotas due to their shortage??
The payment was probably a lot lower most of the population is struggling to afford anything now.
damn that 4Runner interior looks like 2005
2009 actually - which is why they still sell like hot cakes in 2023. :-)
@@southernfarmtech its ugly as fuck tho
Why someone is buying a Bolt EUV when he can spend 2k-3k more and buy a RWD Tesla 3 from inventory? Not that Bolt EUV is a bad car, it is an excellent car and I bought it myself back in January 2023, but at that time, the price difference between Model 3 and Bolt EUV Premier was around $13k. It doesn't make sense now to buy it when Model 3 is just an arm's length away.
I am the person that took the delivery of the Bolt EUV this morning from Dave for my college senior daughter. I also have a 2022 Tesla M3 LR and bought the EUV vs. M3 RWD inventory vehicle for following primary reasons; (1) I like the hatchback format that offers more utility than my M3. (2) FWD is bit more safer in increment weather compared to RWD. Ventilated Seats, 360 degree surround camera, panoramic roof that opens, ultrasonic rear parking sensors, shorter and narrower for easier parking, standard roof rail, ~$1,500 lower out the door cost after all the fees, and lower insurance costs are all additional bonuses too. M3 RWD has its share of merits but Bolt EUV just made a bit more sense for our needs.
@@jaeyongkim My Bolt may also be going to my college senior daughter as I'm planning to get a Model Y performance. Interestingly, insurance cost of my Model 3 is lesser than Bolt.
@@m2193d Furnish your insurance company with actual vin numbers to get exact quotes with the primary driver. It was bit different than the general quote received just using the year, make, and model.
I think when the charging standards all move over to NACS aka supercharger network for all the vehicle makes, there will be more flexibility in my choice of electric car but for now the reliability and availability of Tesla charging keeps me firmly in the Tesla camp I just can’t risk using CCS network for my needs way too unreliable and expensive
What kind of discount on a courtesy loaner with 4k? Ive always wondered
Dave works hard until there are no new cars to sell !!!
another salesperson sold that car out from under you? how does that work??
No, they were just vehicles that my client was going to look at, price out, and decide to buy. I didn't have deals on them when they were sold. First come first serve business.
Does the dealership order vehicles from the factory to sale , or does the factory just send the dealerships a certain amount of each vehicle? I always wondered how that process works.
I think the dealership has to order the vehicles and how many they want and what specs to put on it!
@@Harleyxl1776 sometimes the OEM just ships vehicles to the dealers, or they used to anyway. The dealers are then stuck with slow moving models.
@@patstiff dealers wheel and deal with each other to get the model they need.

Newer 4 Runner into a Blazer? Odd choice. Must have bought the Toyota cheap to make the math make sense.
There is no such thing as a cheap 4Runner. Any of them. 🙂 I hope Dave's next video will answer this question. I'm dying to know. Just the day before this video dropped, I asked him if he had ever convinced a 4Runner owner to get out of their 4Runner and into a Chevy product of any kind and if so was it a tough sell or not. Had no idea that very day he traded the 4Runner for a Blazer! I asked if he would answer at the end of one of his dealership life videos. Hoping and praying!
Any thoughts on the equinox ev coming out??
Dave, you’re great, but I must disagree with you: there is no such thing as a “cool Toyota”! And as for the back window, Toyota stole that from Ford: Lincoln-and later Mercury-had a power back light waaaayyy back in the 50’s and 60’s, although I was waaaayyyy too young to remember them.😊
Hey Dave is that Pontiac G6 available?
We have a G6..lol. Probably at the dealer for service
What’s going on with your parents truck?
Needs a Transmission.. Service dept started the job this past Friday
Cant believe how many people lease tht go over miles. Just throwing money away
people do not know, or are not thinking about mileage, they just want a new car at cheaper price. Than reality sets in and they have a rude awakening.
These are not high interest rates. If you want to see high go back to Jimmy Carter and 18%.
