This is the sort of gameplay I missed from Bestinslot, whole different games with different mechanics and aren’t related to the already 100 videos of Jurassic world evolution
I dowloaded this game a while back... it's... odd. It shows a lot of promise and I really dig the concept of evolution working of sort of as it should through randomness and natural (or assisted) selection. Still I think it should do some... filters to develop slightly more decent creatures. Just generating laterally symetric creatures would go a long way and it wouldn't be "cheating" too much. It's just weird that so many of the creatures look like twiching malformed mutants.
I mean, I understand but it is supposed to be randomly generated so the more realistic it is the better, which isnt really realistic but thats a whole other problem on its own, if you hav any inquiries you can email the developer tom johnson on his blog and hell respond to you
@@Carrie_Krueger That's pretty cool. Thanks. I mean, yea that's why I said not cheating " too much". Selection can and does sometimes favor asymmetry but it's so infrequent in movile forms like the ones in this game that adding it would basically amount to speeding the game to the good part. The graphics also imply that these are already fish-like or cambrian-complexity organism, which loooong ago should have the symmetry thing down way before we even got in control of the game. Maybe make it a toggle option if you are really dead set on making some flatfishes.
Yeah, I noticed that the game currently has better symmetry generated fishes and other things but sometimes they end up like mutant Coelacanths and then everything goes wrong so maybe a more stable system for fish and less muatation chance since your created fish could transform into some5ing entirely different within a matter of time
@BestInSlot There is an option to produce spawning grounds (at least there was in one version of the game), so maybe you should make a spawning ground for the foragers to better establish themselves easier Excellent video. We got some pretty weird fish
Poor sunfish, no more stupid than any other fish, and actually pretty fast and successful, but got a reputation of being slow and dumb. I got you, buddies, one day they'll see. We need more games like this. Even though it can't come close to actually mimicking the mechanisms of evolution (for obvious reasons, number one being impossible on a game), it's very interesting and fun on it's own. A nice experiment that can go places. I also like how they have very developed and adapted heads while at the same time having blob messes for bodies still trying to evolve into something that can even move. :]
Hey BIS, remember Spore ( -yes the game you said in the intro- ) well for a couple of years a dedicated fanbase has been making the spiritual successor. Thrive. Thrive is an open source game, so anyone can work on in, and the ‘main’ developer has started work on the binding agents to end the Microbe Stage and enter the Multicellular Stage. Perhaps you could check it out, I think you’ll like it.
I honestly think this is what Spore should have been. If this game has a land - based section when it eventually comes out, I want there to be a roster of animals that could be added in ( the player first lays out the plants and other things needed to build an ecosystem, then they add a population of animals, kind of like Tyto Ecology, and then let them adapt and evolve over a period of time). I think the final version of this could be seen as a hybrid of Tyto Ecology, and Equilinox, where you create an ecosystem with animals and then let them evolve and adapt to the changing environment. Here's a list of animals that I think could be added to the game when it eventually comes out: Rodents like mice, rats, squirrels, beavers, porcupines, cavys, and capybaras Opossums Deer Pigs Mustelids like weasels, stoats, otters, minks and martens Mongeese Cats Foxes Raccoons Raccoon dogs Platypus Hedgehogs Kangaroos Moles Shrews Bats Chickens Ducks Geese Swans Gulls Turkey Vulture Falcons Crows, ravens and magpies Hawks Starlings Pigeons Turtles and tortoises Snakes Lizards like Geckos, Bearded dragons, and skinks Monitor Lizards Iguanas Chameleons American Bullfrog African Xenopus Wood Frog ( and several other frogs besides these) Cane Toad Salamanders Fish like perches, catfish, minnows, and small sharks like the epaulette shark Honeybees Wasps Beetles Mosquitoes Crayfish Crabs Shrimp Snails and Slugs Earthworms Ants Termites Spiders
I hate to complain but I REALLY wish these games would have more unique titles that are easier to Google. Unless they blow up, common words like "Ecosystem" won't cut it.
Pretty cool, would be less horrific if they didn't use fish as a template. Plenty of "wormier" things could have been used instead for a primitive but less "off-putting" look (flatworms, mollusks, annelids, lancelets, dinocaridida, etc.), heck cnidarians would have been a good choice as they are little more than living blobs of flesh, but starting off with randomly generated fish just makes them look like body-horror abominations (at least some are cute). Otherwise, pretty neat, hope to see them refine the game more in the future.
The reason your money seemed to go down is because the money display is capped at 3 figures, so up to 999. If you have anything over 1000, the game still counts over a thousand but displays only the last 3 figures.
Welcome to this glorious game we’re you create your own planet it’s fun until the part we’re intelligent life start dumping plastic into the water and don’t do anything about it
that moment when you find a reeeaaally interesting game, and it has a free demo, so you're like, "Alright I'll try it out for free, see if I like it" and after turning down every graphics setting, and halfway into the tutorial, you have a semi-constant of 15fps. I need a better computer. It's a pretty up to date windows 10, and its in great nick, but apparently not good enough lol.
I bought the game yesterday. Here is a WARNING from me: don't buy this game if your PC is a potatoe. The game consumes around 8 GB of RAM. Enough to overheat many computers.
