Hi, a comment from Western Australia: Quokks are beautiful creatures which we need to look after. I appreciated the number of times you emphasised that people shouldn’t feed or touch them but then many of the clips you showed had people doing just that - touching and feeding. Rottnest is a picturesque holiday island which can be accessed by private boat, public ferry, helicopter or small plane. It’s close enough to the mainland to go to as a day trip or to stay longer and is very popular with locals and tourists. However, with all the people that go there, it makes people probably the biggest threat to the quokkas. There are no cars on the island so at least the quokkas are no getting run over, but as you can see people can’t resist feeding and touching them. Then occasionally some sick people will take advantage of their inquisitive and friendly nature and set out to deliberately harm them. It is truly sickening. Australia has some very unique animals, many I bet you’ve never heard of if you’re not from here (quolls, bettongs, bandicoots and more). They are worth looking into, and if you get a chance, come and see them for yourself, but please do the right thing by them; don’t feed, touch or in any other way, mistreat them.
Thanks for sharing a good information
Glad it was helpful!

Rottnest was named by Dutch sailors who thought they were rats, hence "rat's nest".
