I used your jigs on my 3-day San Diego trip - we managed a 45 minute rock fish spin and your jigs killed it! I have two Phenix slow pitch rod set- ups with Shimano Ocea Jiggers - so much fun…..
Great video, and congrats guys on a great trip. ARS were nice, but that Scamp and the gags were awesome! Congrats Johnny on your gag! Got my PB on SPJ gear on a 160 gr Flatty, 22 lbs on the Middlegrounds. 😁👍
Enjoying a lot of your videos Johnny, I'm originally from Panama City, FL now live in Texas and learned a lot from you about jigging so far. I'm new to jigging and want to get into it for my next deep sea party boat trip out of Galveston. It looks like your not reeling up the jig but just let it go up and down from the bottom until a fish hits it?
Why I like doing the odd pulley ridge or middle grounds commercial trip. No limits, just quota, so if you want to keep catching you can. sadly ars costs a hefty 3.75-5$ a lb for quota tho.
I love the forward facing Simrad!! I can't fish without keeping an eye on the sonar the whole time. I won't hardly fish in the front of the boat... edit: massive gag! Congrats!
Not intended to stir the pot nor is this a loaded question: say you reel up an ARS during the open season, but the fish was sharked (landed the head), does that fish count as a harvested fish?
