this episode captured a pretty crucial part of divorce that most writers forget, the theme of what if. In this episode Reba and Brock return to the place they were at when they were young and find the man Reba chose instead of Brock and is dead. They both wonder if Reba made the right decision. Reba ultimately decides that she made the right one, but its so powerful that they acknowledge this.
This was such a beautiful scene. Reba's voice, the emotion as she was singing, the flashbacks, the look on Brock's face when she finished, all made it so emotional. I love that this show can be absolutely hilarious, but teach little life lessons as well.
I know Carole King did this originally, but Reba KILLED IT!!! I remember the first time I saw this episode and her singing this song, it gave me goosebumps. I loved it so much I turned on my laptop and downloaded it right then and there! She's so talented and brings something to this song that makes it soooo meaningful!
I was getting ready for my special, precious niece's funeral today, and Reba came on, and of course I watched, because I love her show! I didn't even know it was on back when it was. So she started singing this song and of course I broke into a million tears, because I love love my niece so much. She was such a part of my life and I was such a part of hers, and an untimely death. She was just a baby to me, just having turned 33, March, 16, and her funeral, March 19th.. Feeling lost. This song, and that scene, hit home. 😔💔💔
This is an extremely underrated show. I watched this from the beginning on The WB with my family and it was genuinely funny had moments like this that made the series stand out. Good times.
Also.............the one where they were dieting with Barbara Jean, and Reba was hiding behind the center Island in the kitchen like a mouse eating the cupcake. I roar laughing and wake my husband up.
Our brother just passed away the other day . And my family is using this version of this song as a tribute to our brother. FLY HIGH STACY YOU ARE SO MISSED. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
This song blows me away! Reba does an amazing job it brings tears to my eyes when I think about people that have passed away and how far away they are.
This is one of my favorite episodes of the television show Reba. Reba sings this Beautiful, Classic Song Perfectly! I am a fan of Reba McIntire. I was born in the late fall of 1978. Love This!
Just watched a rerun of Reba and she sang this song and I was in tears!!! This is a love song but the FIRST person I saw when she sang was my daddy who has been gone for 30 years. I LOVE YOU DADDY AND SURE DO MISS YOU!!! thank you Reba!!
My dad loved watching Reba, and had a crush on her too. My dad has been gone 10mo now, I saw Reba on the tv and I instantly clicked it and this episode came out and once the bar scene and when she started singing broke me down to tears thinking of my dad.
I love everything Carole King did, but there has always been something special and particularly beautiful about Reba's cover. Reba has always been able to weave those hard hitting emotions that country music once had into her music. She has such a voice for emoting and everytime I listen to these lyrics I get all choked up inside.
I remember watching this with my nanny after my papa passed away, I remember her tearing up. Oh how I missed watching show like this with her. But now she's just so far away, oh but I know I'll see her again. 🖤💕
Every time I watch this video it makes me cry. How many of us have lost some one and we'll give anything in this world to see them again if only for just want moment. To say things that weren't spoken to do things that weren't finish
My dad was in hospice care and i was watching tv with him the 1st time i ever heard this song. Smh. I felt like, eventhough my dad was still with me, that i had mourned him already. This song resonated with me and still does a year later after he passed.
My wife loved this song and now she went to be with the lord at the age of 39 a I realizing how far away she is I want to join her but I listen to my angel, who’s only words to me are take of my BABYS she had three children and I will never not take care of them, She thought me how to love and part of me wishes she didn’t so it wouldn’t hurt so bad but ever time I hear this song I remember take care of my baby’s and I carry on thank you Reba
I love the Reba show! Still watch it. This song always gets me in my memory lane emotions. And the laughter the show brings to my grandchildren as we watch it & especially my grandson who loves Reba and since Reba is his first crush - keeps me grounded in the here & now. But the adult woman in me loves the antics & sarcasm & wit of Reba with Barbara Jean - as the other woman & the other insanity of what it means to be married or have a family and maintaining a home --- and yet - making time to go into one's own memory lane & cherish what was gained along the way too. Grief & pain comes & goes in waves. Give me the Reba show or Reba songs any day to remind me that - if - we can laugh about it - then we can truly survive anything and if - we need to cry - there's always a song to understand. We don't get to control the goodbyes - but we can control when we want to cry an awe moment of yesteryear that we wouldn't trade anything for too. It's ok to cherish memories and it's okay to miss yesteryear too.
I'm 9K miles "far and away" from my first love and we've been married for 35 years. She's a volunteer OB/Gyn Doctor at an African Hospital and I'm here in COVID covered America trying to raise funds so she can continue to save women and children lives. So this song touches my heart and soul today. Missing you babe, will be home in 10 days "but you're so far away"
Just watched this episode and I can't stop crying. These words are everything I've been feeling since my dad passed in 2020 💔. I needed this cry. Thank you for posting 💙
This means so much to me now, my Boyfriend Matthew passed away 3 weeks ago. I missing him so much . Does this pain gets easier? I miss being in his arms ! I love you Matthew McCarthy.
I miss this show so much, even though I didn't start watching it until 8 years after it ended. I loved watching the show, I believe I've seen all of the episodes, and It never got old and always managed to put a smile on my face. In my opinion this was one of the last great sitcoms, I'll always have a special place in my heart.
It gets me overtime. The lyrics about somebody that has left and you will and never see again speak to so many people. It doesn't matter if It is Rod Steward, Reba or even the original by Carole King, this song is a classic Just listen to it and you'll know what I'm talking about
Thankyou for giving me a song so dear to my heart dedicated to my mother brother grandma other family members and friends its the best song my heart sends to those whom we've loved and still do no other song could compare to this meaningful and appreciated song in my life thank you Reba you made it your own
we've all felt this way, don'like much modern country, some art goes beyond . . . . . . . . . . My Dad passed away a little over a year ago after a long illness. (April 26, 2018, to be exact.). My Mom and I miss him so much! And so does everyone else who knew him and love him. He and my Mom celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in December of 2017. Love you and miss you, Dad. Until we meet again in Heaven.
I saw this episode the 1st time a few months before my old man passed away. It resonates as strongly now as it did then. Reba actually did kil it though. No disrespect to Ms King. I like her version too. Reba's is for my old man/ dad though.
Many would be surprised on how few regrets I have along my way, I could share this song with the guys I've loved and lost, yet still carry them in my soul and would cry tears of joy to see their face at my door, how I wish they knew that holding them again would only do me good but they're so far away. God only knows how much they're missed.
I keep my tv on while I'm sleeping and the sound of Rebas voice woke me up. This is better than the original version sung by Carol King. Love Rebas voice. Beautiful song!
She never let's me down, I love her so much. I'm a big fan and when I was 15 I got to see her at a concert. Best concert ever but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one crying.😢
Everyone loves original versions but only Reba could compete with Carol King. There’s so much emotion behind it, I love this version just as much 😭😭🤗🤗😍😍

Such a beautiful way to put this whole crazy situation
This was such a beautiful scene. Reba's voice, the emotion as she was singing, the flashbacks, the look on Brock's face when she finished, all made it so emotional. I love that this show can be absolutely hilarious, but teach little life lessons as well.

I remember hearing this for the first time and I was just blown away by how beautiful Reba's voice was.
Yeah, my mom was a fan of Reba, I wasn't, still her voice is a classic stable of her time period.
I miss this show. I think about my son who died
Hes so far away. Thank you Rheba
I havent found it being sung by Reba. I only find the original singer Carole King
Carole King didn’t just did it originally, she WROTE it.

i absolutely love Reba singing this song, never get tired of hearing it.
I thought I was the only weird one who watch and love this show. This was a great scene.
I named my daughter Kyra Elizabeth after her daughter and granddaughter on the show
Nope, I watch Reba too
I never heard of it till it was over. Now I laugh a lot watching it. Reba is a trip. So is Van and BJ.
Omg I wish she would have recorded this full version, her voice is so good for this song
Same!!
Agree!
This is an extremely underrated show. I watched this from the beginning on The WB with my family and it was genuinely funny had moments like this that made the series stand out. Good times.
that was my favorite episode of Reba that lady has a dynamite voice
robert jones. true
Mine too. Precisely because of this scene.
She is indeed an awesome lady and awesome voice. She puts so much feeling into her songs.

This song reminds me of my Dad!!! I miss him everyday!!!!!!😪 Love you Dad, and i miss you everyday!!!!

Wow!❤ I still watch this show when I run across it, but this song is one of my all time favorites. Reba does it justice for sure. Stunning…..truly!❤
Such an emotional scene in this episode. Love Reba so much

Reba sings this so beautifully.
I just saw this episode on tv. So I had to find it to listen to it again. Carole King did a great job singing this first. But Reba killed it.

Reba has a voice that is so distinct. I swear as soon as she lets one note out I know it's her. This cover is just beautiful 👍🏼🔥
Such a beautiful and warm feeling song. Reba sings this with such grace ❤

'So far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place any more
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
But it doesn't help to know that you're just
Time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood
And holdin' you again could only do me good
Ohhh, how I wish I could
But you're just far away, yeahhhh
You're so far away
One more song about movin' along the highway
Can't say much of anything that's new
If I could only work this life out my way
I'd rather spend it, being close to you
But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place any more
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
But it doesn't help to know that you're just
Far away, yeahhhh
You're so far away
Yeahhh, you're so far away...'
