If you want to convert a partition to MBR, instead of cleaning all of disk 0, you can do this:
Once you’ve selected the disk, type “list partition” and press Enter.
Find your partition and type “select partition (number of desired partition; no parentheses needed)” in my case it was partition 3. ⚠️WARNING: Make sure you’ve selected the right partition; you most likely do not want to wipe an important one. Also, make sure you remember which partition you want to convert to MBR.
Once you’ve done that, go on with the rest of the steps.

No need to open a command prompt.
Windows 10/11 installs in the way that the USB flash drive is booted into.
Boot the USB flash drive using UEFI mode (in the boot menu, select your USB with the UEFI prefix) and Windows 10/11 will format the disk as GPT and install in UEFI mode.
Boot into the USB flash drive using legacy BIOS (or CSM) mode (in the boot menu, select your USB without the UEFI prefix) and Windows 10/11 will format the disk as MBR and install in legacy BIOS mode. Note that you cannot install Windows 11 in legacy BIOS mode unless you bypass the Windows 11 system requirements.
Microsoft: On the boot device menu, select the command that identifies both the firmware mode and the device. You might see separate commands for the same device. Each command uses the same device and media, but boots the PC in a different firmware mode. After Windows is installed, the device boots automatically using the same mode it was installed with.
You can ignore the following error messages (see the example below to understand how it works).
- "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style."
- "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
For example, installing with UEFI/GPT.
1. Boot the USB flash drive using UEFI mode (in the boot menu, select your USB with the UEFI prefix).
2. Microsoft: On the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen, select each of the partitions on the drive where you're installing Windows, and select Delete. The drive will show a single area of unallocated space. Select the unallocated space and click Next. Windows detects that the PC was booted into UEFI mode, and reformats the drive using the GPT drive format, and begins the installation.
