Important fact, kid sitting with ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the qawali video playing in background is Rahat.
Sat to Nusrat shab’s left is Ustad Farooq ... Ustad Rahat’s late father.
Isn’t it strange to reckon that many people in chrome at the background are no longer alive? Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib passed away in 1997. His brother, “The Harmonium King”, Ustad Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, died in 2003. Ustad Mujahid Mubarak Ali Khan (father of Rizwan & Muazzam Ali Khan) died in 1996. Ghulam Abbas Khan, Nusrat’s most gifted shagird, also died and so did Maqsood Hussain. Later he was replaced by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The legacy continues ...

wasn't as good. NFAK felt so natural. RFAK's cant judge whether he did it himself or it was mixing magic either way couldn't create the smoothness the original had. The only place where he faltered

There is a video of Ustadh Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan doing the same thing decades ago when you mentioned the "modernising" towards the end. It just tells you that Ustadh Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was ahead of his time and a genious that goes with saying. Rahet Fateh Ali Khan did justice and honoured his father and uncle. 🤲

Rahat FAK spent his whole childhood and teen years doing riyaz with his Master Uncle NFAK Perfecting his art. And God made sure RFAK had the talent for it. In addition to his soulful Sufi art his composition of the music was out of this world.
