Honestly man, this was a pretty nice scope
This video right here is the reason we have gone from 80 degrees back to 30 degrees in one day. Has hell frozen over? After all these years still the number 1 scope reviewer out there. But give a brother a warning or something when you do something like this that way I can at least not pack a sweat shirt or two to stay warm.

I have two, and my nephew and a neighbor both have Diamondback tactical scopes. No complaints.

Thanks for the review, although i have real buyers remorse for not getting the 3-18 strike eagle instead for the illumination.
I ain’t gonna lie I have a few vortex scopes and red dots and they work great . I bought the 6-24x50 diamond back tactical years ago and slapped it on my son’s 6.5 CM and it just flat out performs, other than just know how many times you turn the elevation if you dial up. Even on my higher end vortex scopes they’ve never failed me and I beat the shit out of them. I also use PA optics and I love the shit out of their reticles. I’m glad you’re finally talking good about vortex again lol. I don’t know why you hate them so much but they are an affordable option that work. Same as Primary arms optics. I think a lot of people overlook them.
Dollar for dollar I would much rather gamble on primary arms on a normal day
Don’t forget the OG Diamondback Tactical. It was the first scope I bought on your recommendation. It’s held up for me so far and proved you right.
That’s a nice little budget scope the more it comes down in price the better buy it is
would you choose the DB tactical over the venom to save a few bucks or is the extra cost really worth it?

@@jeffstephenson4156 wow i honestly gotta say thats surprising because the sentiment online is the DB tac is very meh compared to everything else in that price range. I'm torn between the venom, the DB tac and the PA SLx 4-14 acss. The PA would allow to save some money but I wish I could look through all three to know which one I could live with, the SLx would save me some money for some other parts but if the Venom is THAT much better over it I'm not against spending the extra money.

Got a little vortex in your life now I see. I’ve definitely had a couple failures but every optic I have ever broke was on my 300 win mag. For some reason it eats optics up

Lol Vortex does make some really nice Optics and there CS is some of the best on the Planet.

I got a old venom, but I'll stick to the arken scopes
I have been looking at this scope and the Arken ep 5 5-25 ffp, I need it for hunting animals coyote size and target shooting both 600 yards.

Joe, for rimfire benchrest and 50-100 yard F-Class style shooting. Which do you prefer. Not shooting unknown ranges or NRL22.
You mean between this and another vortex. Man for the round the same price for a bench press shooting I would go with anArken that’s just my honest opinion.

wow i still would take a chance there im so pissed at leupold right now i bought a $1800.00 leupold vx-5 4-20x52 wouldn't hold zero paid $65 to ship back and of course nothing wrong they kept it 2 days so i remount on my 308win first shot a spek of trash bounces from somewhere in the tube and sticks to the lens guess what sending back again that kind of cash should be right the first time.

At low power the reticle looks hard to see. Is that the camera? Or would this be a poor choice for general hunting? For instance a deer comes out 50 yards away, will I struggle to see the crosshairs?

I was very disappointed. The worst thing i found with it was that the zero stop doesnt stop at zero, and after firing, the reticle seems to vibrate and shake.....and we aint talking high recoil...we are talking 243. Total garbage. Couldnt return it because i had already painted it.

I've got 2 in the cart: this Venom 3x15 or Arken lh 4-16?? Which one should I buy for my 18" AR-15 SPR?? I really like the 3X on the low end, but like the weight of the arken.... so, it's gonna come down to glass and durability.... who wins?
Venom may have slight glass edge , arken definitely has durability and solid build

I do have to say, I hate that these zero stop designs because of the internal limiter. In cheap scopes like this, it makes sense because the glass probably can't support full range of travel well enough anyways, but it more expensive glass it's always a shame you can't have full range and a ZS. Nice video my friend, I like the video effects on the zero stop 👍, you put great effort into these
Those internal limiters are even worse on some Leupold’s
IMO/IME, with the exception of the Razor line, Vortex optics are shite. When Vortex first hit the scene, they were decent scopes for a reasonable price...now they're outrageously priced for the quality you get. Model for model and dollar for dollar, my go-to brands (Leupold and Burris) are far better scopes.

The Venom 3-16X44 is 369 ish at Amazon. I would also suggest spending the rest of the budget on premium rings, such as the Vortex Match Precision rings. They are pricey but worth.
The advantages of this scope is decent glass and weight for a hunting scope. And performs better than their Crossfire II 3-940 Dead HOld (SFP) scope.

But remember the Vortex Diamondback HD. It worked great for a while, and then Vortex F-KED it up. They haven’t changed. Remember this statement. Might be a year, or 2, but I’ll remember.

Leupold is better without a doubt
Not my first choice in brand. Some stores push them, Cabelas Canada for instance, citing the warranty, but that isn’t necessarily a good sign. My friend bought one for his 308, and after a few boxes of ammo, it failed to accept elevation adjustments.

I just bought this scope. It is my first Vortex. I got it for $360.00. The tracking is right on. Two shot zero measuring with the reticle. The glass is good for price.

Oh it’s not even Close . Leupold for the win . But it’s in a different price range
I picked one up the other day for a 22 arc build. It was on sale for $370. No clue why since it was a pretty recent release. I was very happy with it.
