I superliked the car. Test Drove it for an hour and it amazed me every time I put down the peddle. Only the steering felt a wobbly. But I felt I was in control all the time. Not sure if I should wait for The rear wheel or get this xdrive. 🤔
I'm usually a RWD guy but with the power these cars are pushing this rwd bias X drive seems like a no brainer. Shame the new M2 is rwd only, but at least it has a manual!
All I ever used to see is BMW fans say how it takes no skill to drive AWD and a true drivers car is RWD. Now that BMW have given M cars and M lites X Drive it’s the best thing ever 😂 They would never make the M2 X Drive as it would probably take away a decent chunk of the market from the X Drive versions of the G80/82.
With this car being about the same price and hp levels as a TTRS, what would you guys pick for nordschleife and trackdays etc? TTRS is a lot lighter, but being audi maybe more understeer? But then again you could probably get that out with alignment, tires, suspenions, maybe even swaybars etc. But you would have to do that on the 240i aswell. TTRS should be a bit more sportscar biased I would think and you could take out 100+kg out of the ttrs aswell to make it even lighter. Whats your thoughts about that comparison?
Just out of curiosity: How do you get a brand-new US spec car? Or was it bought in USA and imported here? How does it work (do you have to modify it to be legal on German streets?)? Cheers, Emm
Okay, thanks for the quick reply :) I assume that implies an import from USA? Do they have "special" regulations for the German street laws? Because i saw it has a german licence plate... I don't know how things work when working for the US Military, I just know we won't get that sound when buying one here :D PS: I love that you reply yourself (if it is you) and fast. Subbed now :)
Just got 240i, love it, how you get that sports set up on the dash, mines got the bigger screen on the left of the wheel( uk) is it a setting to get the graphics behind the wheel
BMWs often have a lot of toe-in to make the car super stable and safe, a bit less toe-in rear and some toe-out front should reduce the understeer to some extend and make the car more alive :)
Hi Misha, If possible for you to answer - a question from my side - what would be a good wheel alignment to decrease understeer ? More negative camber ? Decrease the tyre pressure from bmw recommandations with 0.2-0.4 bar ? Asking because the exact same model is coming my way - and except the clear improvements that you suggested - lowered spring set , better brakes - the best way to decrease understeer is not yet very clear.
Well the best way to reduce understeer will be a new alignment with some toe out at the front axle, you also can do toe out at the rear axle although i wouldn't recommend it for unexperienced drivers, as it makes the car pretty nervous. second will be a antirollbar kit do reduce the bodyroll it also shifts the dynamics of the car depending on the stiffness of the bars (stiffer front = more understeer, stiffer rear= more overstear)...the Problem is...I don't think there is a antirollbar kit available right now. more negativ camber at front could also help but you need to fit camber plates to be able to adjust it. I think the car has a lot of potential with some slight modifications here and there. I think for the first mods you should look for some brake upgrades (Pads,Fluid,Lines) and alignment :)
@@Blue_Psych0 Ok - thank you ! I wouldn't go all out and add strut bars just now , i think a better geometry might be enough for better dynamics because i don't plan on winning titles , i just thoroughly dislike the understeer feeling ( although to be honest , i did not notice it this badly here , but i can only take Misha's word for granted as several reviewers seem to have noticed this behaviour at the limits ) . Camber plates would be the very next thing - i don't really consider those to be added parts :D . Also - considering we are in this shit logistics environment where cars take 2-3 months just to enter production - i currently have just an order , so i'm really contemplating if i should change it for RWD.
@@radupiscanu1299 I ordered mine with XDrive in mid april and just swapped to SDrive since it is available now and the production of my car should start in mid July. If everything works out I'm able to pick it up in munich somewhere in september.
@@Blue_Psych0 so you had the same predicament and bit the bullet and went with sDrive . I'm really thinking the same , but at the same time i've seen that M xDrive has improved track performance of all cars on technical tracks - mainly by enabling greater speeds through tight corners , at the expense of next to nothing regarding turn-in speed or turn angles - and considering we don't have the RWD version of this car yet - i'm afraid it will be a downgrade across the board. I've not driven this model yet , it is not available for test drive so i can't really tell from my own experience. I've driven F8x M4 - it had new PS4S tyres - and G8x M4 xDrive back to back - almost couldn't tell any important difference, but none were my personal cars so i didn't push them. G8x was more composed , but regarding important driving dynamics both were fierce , fast and sharp turning - more traction nannies activation on the F8 M4 but nothing very disturbing.
@@radupiscanu1299 I think in the end it comes down to personal preference. the xDrive should have more traction when accelerating out of corners while the sDrive should have a slight edge going into the corners. xDrive will be faster from 0-100km/h while the sDrive will be faster from 100-200km/h due to slightly less drivetrain loss. For the daily use, the sDrive takes about 0,5l /100km less than the xDrive. Both have their Pros and Cons and in the end it comes down to what suites you most :). I'm driving a 228i F22 sDrive with ZF8HP as daily right now, so sDrive was my way to go as soon as it came available :)
Suspension seems to be very bad. Lots of unstable bumby situations and suspensions is only „soft“. KW Suspension would make the car so much more capable ….soft but still stable!

I actually do like the look of it
its not like everybody hates them, but i think we can all agree that they polarize more than previous models, which is sad :( i really tried to like the 2 series but i just cant :( also the g82 is such a bad grille design… man the thing drives so good it makes me sad…
US spec seat are different than UK spec. a lot nice on the UK spec, a more racing oriented design.
Cool video 👍🏻
Pretty cool how the track shows up on the gps…
Remember this not a full M car.. BMW just released the G87….
its just a awd supra thats all :)
At least three times I thought that a person runs on track. But it was only the insect in the middle of the picture
I order a 230i m sport with the ELSD and sunroof delete. Over 300lbs less than the m240i and even more ones you delete the rear seat! I think the little brother is the real enthusiast product at the moment and would love to see how it compares considering that weight is this cars biggest issue.I think the 230i will be more well balanced for track duty.
Shame the new M2 is rwd only, but at least it has a manual!
why would you want AWD? Less performance for more money...
@@OxxidCZ As I say, I'd usually champion RWD but this Xdrive is impressive. More usable, everyday performance with a lot of the benefits of RWD
All I ever used to see is BMW fans say how it takes no skill to drive AWD and a true drivers car is RWD. Now that BMW have given M cars and M lites X Drive it’s the best thing ever 😂
They would never make the M2 X Drive as it would probably take away a decent chunk of the market from the X Drive versions of the G80/82.
Nice vid ! Was it like around 8:05 min for the lap ?
Dem biceps tho 🥵🥵🥵
With that kind of performance it doesn't matter it looks horrible😁
With this car being about the same price and hp levels as a TTRS, what would you guys pick for nordschleife and trackdays etc? TTRS is a lot lighter, but being audi maybe more understeer? But then again you could probably get that out with alignment, tires, suspenions, maybe even swaybars etc. But you would have to do that on the 240i aswell. TTRS should be a bit more sportscar biased I would think and you could take out 100+kg out of the ttrs aswell to make it even lighter. Whats your thoughts about that comparison?
That’s maybe the only time I’d rather take an Audi over a BMW for track driving.
No way TTRS would be less understeery with the 5cyl engine over the front axle.
So much understeer
so does this car weigh what an F30 335d xdrive weighs? 1700kg?
yeeep
Inderdaad, wat wil je met een auto doen. Rond toeren of tracktool, wat offer je op aan comfort of aan prestatie op de Ring, keuzes, keuzes, enz.
Wow I had a 2016 340i as well lol. Sold it for a 2022 m240i
Just out of curiosity: How do you get a brand-new US spec car? Or was it bought in USA and imported here? How does it work (do you have to modify it to be legal on German streets?)?
Cheers,
Emm
USMilitary stationed in Germany
Okay, thanks for the quick reply :)
I assume that implies an import from USA? Do they have "special" regulations for the German street laws? Because i saw it has a german licence plate...
I don't know how things work when working for the US Military, I just know we won't get that sound when buying one here :D
PS: I love that you reply yourself (if it is you) and fast. Subbed now :)
@@MrEmmBIRTHDATE "Extended" Euro delivery probably...
Usually shipped from US. And he very likely got a diplomatic discount at the dealer. Which can be quite significant.
Just kidding Misha..what about a lap in my A6 Competition? It does sound sporty😬😂
😍
I haven't been this early in a long time.
Why was it squeeling so much on the parkinglot, any clue? Als while just driving and not braking, it looked like at least?
Just got 240i, love it, how you get that sports set up on the dash, mines got the bigger screen on the left of the wheel( uk) is it a setting to get the graphics behind the wheel
16:18 Smoking harms you and others around you. 😉😂🤣
its a great car but you can see they left space for the M2 because of the soft suspension
Wait how did you get 10% off this? Need tips before I go into the dealer this month 😏
Was surprised that the rev limit is at 6500
7000
빠르다 g바디 2시리즈
Color, E36 M3 purple bro.
I got the 435d xdrive and its 1775kg so the 240ix is very heavy as my car is a 4 series and its about the same as the 2 series
unfortunately true
Unfortunately the new 2er shares the floor with the bigger brother, so it's wider, longer and heavier. I love how small my F22 is.
Are you getting a Polestar 2 BST on review? :)
working on it!
I’m confused, you say “M240 xDrive, not M240i xDrive” and same in the title but it says M240i on the badge?
12:52 what is the issue with the stock alignment and how do you correct it ? More front camber, what about toe?
Fair question
Front camber is NOT adjustable
BMWs often have a lot of toe-in to make the car super stable and safe, a bit less toe-in rear and some toe-out front should reduce the understeer to some extend and make the car more alive :)
Hi Misha,
If possible for you to answer - a question from my side - what would be a good wheel alignment to decrease understeer ?
Misha, easy question :D, A45s or 240i? which one is faster(on the ring) and fun for you?
240
@@mgcharoudin cool, looking forward for future vids with 240! I'll hopefully get mine this autumn, damn production times.
Old m2 or this buddy, they are both within my price range in about a year? Thanks
Track use - M2. Daily - this.
Time in the best lap???
330 km/hrs odometer?? it is real? or coding?
Hey Misha how would you compare this to the Mk5 Supra?
no bump steer, heavier, awd. apples and pears
@@mgcharoudin Do you know if the bump steer was fixed after the 2021 refresh? I haven't heard anyone talk about it since the 2020 model year
Suspension seems to be very bad. Lots of unstable bumby situations and suspensions is only „soft“. KW Suspension would make the car so much more capable ….soft but still stable!
Coming soon :)
👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Man dose not shift pass 5th Jesus
Those tires did not appreciate this video.
I´ve never seen the nbr so empty XD
Misha, which car was the most comfortable that You drive on Nurburgring? Maybe You could make a lap in something very comfy like Bentley or something like that? 😊 Greetings🖐

“…it fit my budget perfectly…” Enter skylights fuel prices. 😂 p.s. I own a 340iX F30 and I know how much fuel they guzzle, even with very moderate driving.
