    (@7:49) when the fitting is drawn the wrong way, click the blue arrow that appears when you select it and it will flip it.

      @mep_guy  2 года назад

      Thanks for the tip Valerie. Unfortunately with the wye fitting you actually can't just flip the fitting in that scenario. At least I don't think you can lol. It's a very strange phenomenon and has to do with which way the fitting is drawn. But thanks for helping me out!

      @@mep_guy Thank you for the videos, I have an architectural background and new to Revit MEP. Your videos have been soooo helpful I watch them religiously. Do you have videos on the other disciplines (electrical & mechanical) as well?

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 года назад +1

      @@valeriepierre7297 that's so awesome! I'm glad you are learning the other trades. I see a very bright future. My plan is to do plumbing first then create mechanical videos. Eventually I'll learn electrical but that's a ways away.

    @10:19 could you explain more. I have a fitting like you said, but it changes my whole system type.

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  Год назад

      First which version of Revit are you using? You have to separate the entire piping system from the sanitary first. So everywhere you are connected needs to be separated like I show @8:54 then once it's all separated you should be able to change the system to vent. Then re-attach to the sanitary. As long as there is a fitting separating the systems you should be good.

    • @pmarkpmark
      @pmarkpmark Год назад

      @@mep_guy it's the 2023 version

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  Год назад

      @@pmarkpmark I have a feeling it's because piping is still connected. Also when you make the connection it needs to be into a fitting. Not sure if this is required, but could be causing your system switch.

    Thanks for such a great video again!!! Sir can we use two seprate pipes for waste drainge and Soil Waste Separately???

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 года назад

      You can do anything in Revit. My question would be why do you want to do such a thing. Do you want to use two different pipes for tagging purposes?

    • @XeshanMalix
      @XeshanMalix 2 года назад

      @@mep_guy We practice two pipe sanitary system. One pipe collects the foul soil and water closet wastes, and the second pipe collects the water from the kitchen, bathrooms, house washings, etc. But i didnt see a single video on Two Pipe Sanitary system.

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 года назад

      @@XeshanMalix Ok I can help you out. You just need to create another system for your second sanitary system. Watch my video called "customize Line Patterns" and go to the 5:30 mark. Do this same process but with sanitary pipe. Duplicate it and name it whatever you call that secondary sanitary system. You can change the color and tag id like I did in the video. Hope that helps!

    Thanks for the videos. Do you have any Sanitary piping videos that shows working piping and fittings with "sloped" piping? I have found that drawing piping is much easier with no slope added. SAN piping has to be sloped or doesn't work.

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 года назад +2

      Yep, I did a whole video on sloped piping. Hope you enjoy it!

    🙏Thanks for this helpful tutorial. I want to change the calculation option in Revit ......
    (Path =>
    1. Systems(tab) ->
    2. Mechanical Settings ->
    3. Pipe Setting ->
    4. Calculation ->
    5. Flow(tab) ->
    6. Calculation Method)
    ...... from "the 2012 International Plumbing Code (IPC) Table E103.3 (3)" to custom fixture flow rate/table.
    👉 How would you advice me, please?
    Thanks!

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 года назад +1

      Revit cannot do sanitary flow calculations. You can only use the IPC method to convert fixture units to gpm for water flow in pipe.

    Hi, thank you for sharing this. Do you have a tutorial video about adding a storage tank on roof? I can't find a tank in revit library

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  Год назад

      You can easily create one. I'd recommend learning how to create your own families. A tank is very easy to create. I create a tank water heater in my course. Sounds like you might benefit from it.
