The movie establishes that there are many "catwomen," including Selena Kyle. You even see Michelle Pfeiffer's photo in this movie and this video @11:06. I think the movie was trying to do a nod especially to the old TV show, where Julie Numar played Catwoman and then Ertha Kitt took over later on. I'm not sure, but I don't think the show ever explicitly stated that either woman was named Selina Kyle. That doesn't excuse this suckfest of a movie, though.
The Batman tv series Catwoman was Selina Kyle and both actresses played the same character. Original Catwoman was Selina Kyle and the daughter of her and Bruce Wayne Kathy Wayne was second Catwoman (Catgirl).
Seeing the CGI of this Catwoman running around during the robbery scene just makes me appreciate Michelle learning to use the whip and decapitating those dolls in the first take of that scene...without any cuts.

This movie was in a very weird position when it comes to continuity. It was supposed to be a Michelle Pfieffer Catwoman spin-off at first, so it would have been in the same continuity as the Tim Burton films. But then it became an unrelated film after numerous years of development hell and rewrites. It was released the year before Batman Begins, and I don’t think even the filmmakers knew what shared universe this would be a part of.

Dargonhuman I still maintain that if DC launched their cinematic universe with the Nolan trilogy Marvel would never have ever been able to catch up. It’s not even that hard to think of such a concept, I think it was Batman and Robin mentioned Superman and superhero crossovers have been a thing since comics began. Biggest missed opportunity in cinematic history, imo. Final crisis would wipe the floor with endgame (and I loved endgame).

Because this channel is more about making jokes than actually pointing out continuity errors and plot holes like it used to. I don’t really mind, it’s nice background noise and a way to either refresh myself on a movie or get the gist of it in 15 minutes, but I did appreciate when they took it seriously and pointed out stuff you wouldn’t normally have realized. For instance, I was watching iron man 1 and the part where he flies with the Mark 2 for the first time he tells Jarvis to listen in on ground control (after telling him to do a weather and ATC check). This makes no sense because “ground control” is mainly to direct traffic and avoid any accidents on the airports taxiways, so listening to it in the air does literally no good. That kind of stuff is what I wish we’d see more from this channel again.

They couldn't name her Selina Kyle. I don't think the name of the character would have made it any better in the slightest, to be honest, but it's pretty funny that DC (or whoever it was) looked at this mess and decided they wanted nothing to do with it, and that the studio wasn't allowed to use their character names even. That's how bad this movie is, DC wanted nothing to do with it even PRE-production.
Its really a shame that during these years WB had this entire catalog of DC characters at their disposal and they managed to just piss away precious years to get them established. Nolan Bat trilogy was there lone bright spot. Instead they made pure shit like this and Steel.

Because this channel is more about making jokes than actually pointing out continuity errors and plot holes like it used to. I don’t really mind, it’s nice background noise and a way to either refresh myself on a movie or get the gist of it in 15 minutes, but I did appreciate when they took it seriously and pointed out stuff you wouldn’t normally have realized. For instance, I was watching iron man 1 and the part where he flies with the Mark 2 for the first time he tells Jarvis to listen in on ground control (after telling him to do a weather and ATC check). This makes no sense because “ground control” is mainly to direct traffic and avoid any accidents on the airports taxiways, so listening to it in the air does literally no good. That kind of stuff is what I wish we’d see more from this channel again.

They couldn't name her Selina Kyle. I don't think the name of the character would have made it any better in the slightest, to be honest, but it's pretty funny that DC (or whoever it was) looked at this mess and decided they wanted nothing to do with it, and that the studio wasn't allowed to use their character names even. That's how bad this movie is, DC wanted nothing to do with it even PRE-production.
Its really a shame that during these years WB had this entire catalog of DC characters at their disposal and they managed to just piss away precious years to get them established. Nolan Bat trilogy was there lone bright spot. Instead they made pure shit like this and Steel.
Or have Michelle Fifer cameo as the professor lady who gave Patience the exposition.
