It's nice to see people visiting mainland Greece, as opposed to the islands only. Greece is a mountainous country, but the mountains are always overlooked in favour of the beach destinations. Hope you enjoyed your trip here!
I did a similar trip in 2018 - I also was upgraded to a BMW. Must be a thing! Made driving around Greece that much more fun. Most surprising thing was the roads being in such great repair, way better than in the US.
I always get so happy to see people like and appreciate my country, but not too many people visit Greece during winter and as a Greek, I can tell all these small villages def worth the travel! If you ever plan a trip like this trough the Aegean sea and the greek islands, Kalymnos, my island, also worths the visit!👍 Again, what a great job you did!
We got pretty lucky with the car! The scenery is pretty amazing! The ancient ruins on that mountain with the views 😍 You can see why these choose that location all those years ago.
i hope im not too late to inform you that if you are still in Meteora you should definetely visit the villages Pertouli & Elati which are quite close. One of the most beautiful places in Greece for me.
My friend and I are traveling to Meteora in February, Thank you for the tip we will have to try and check them out. We are so excited to visit your country. It will be our very first international travel.
Great video and great setting. I wonder why you didn't ask for more bread? Next time you are in Greece, you should definitely go to Epirus (Zagori, Vikos gorge, Voidomatis river and many stone bridges, just ask the locals) and drive around the Peloponnese (Epidavros, Olympia, Mystras) , Nafplio, Mani, Ancient Messina, Polylimnio, Monemvasia, Kalavryta with the cogwheel train, Dimitsana, Lake Tsivlou).
Greece is rich in history, all over the country, its the birthplace of the Olympic games in the year 776 B.C. is also very intrested to visit.. Also was Athens the birthplace of democracy in the 5 century B.C. Delphi was an ancient religious sanctuary dedicated to the Greek god Apollo. Developed in the 8th century B.C., the sanctuary was home to the Oracle of Delphi and the priestess Pythia, who was famed throughout the ancient world for divining the future and was consulted before all major undertakings.
I hope you didnt missed the "Omphalos" which the ancient Greeks considred to be the center of the world. _According to the Ancient Greek myths regarding the founding of the Delphic Oracle, the god Zeus, in his attempt to locate the center of the earth, launched two eagles from the two ends of the world, and the eagles, starting simultaneously and flying at equal speed, crossed their paths above the area of Delphi, and so was the place where Zeus placed the stone. Since then, Delphi has been considered by Greeks to be the center of the world, the omphalos - "navel of the Earth."_ Wikipedia

I'm headed there soon and this is all making me so excited! How do you guys work out car rentals in Greece? When you arrive? With any local company in particular? $7/day sounds pretty sweet!

Hey guys! I have been binging your videos for the last 2 hours, great work :) Can you elaborate a bit more on the 7$ dollars a day car rental? Because for Athens Airport Sixt the lower i can find is 27 euros a day for off season. Do you have some kind of special deal with your airplane tickets?
Really you rent a car for 7 euro? 3000 klm last summer. From Thessaloniki to monembasia. And you have to go there. And then neapoli and elafonisos 10 minutes ferry. Best beaches In Greece and nice tavernas with sea local food

Interesting, we're looking to do this trip as well and I'm considering the train versus driving. Can't beat the freedom of having a car though.
We have heard people doing the train and we love train travel but we had a big road trip planned so we opted for the car! Always pros and cons!
The train goes through the big cities you also need busses
I got the same free upgrade from a normal sedan to BMW M4 because they ran out of the regular car. But I was driving it in Texas, not as much fun.
A free upgrade is always appreciated! Not as many great views in Texas 😂
Stunning video wonder it is so cold in Greece now.
WARM NOW!
It's going to be 39 degrees in Athens!!! Freaking HOT 🥵

You forgot the best activity. Olive oil tasting with olive oil from the traditional olive grove of Delphi.
That does sound like a lot of fun! My parents are visiting there right now and I will make sure to tell them about it.

Pity that debt destroyed Greece.
