Today, I will be going over various artists and their albums, including Radiohead, Death Grips and Frank Ocean and more, and their studio albums and finding the most expensive ones. These albums range in quality and genre so there's something for everyone! As well as seeing some weird music videos and pricy stuff, spending over $1000 on music. This was an interesting one.

Hey if you do another one of these you shoild include the super deluxe version of Humanz by Gorillaz. It has a bunch of exclusive songs that you can't get anywhere, and I found a $500 listing for it on ebay. It also came out at about $250 on release.

I own a sealed Black Friday Blonde. I always buy myself Christmas presents (records) early then wait to open them until Christmas Day. So I did that with this record and on Christmas morning before opening it to give it a listen I thought to myself “stop, this was only on sale for one day and is quite possibly the greatest record of the decade, look up what it’s worth first.” And as of Christmas 2016, it was worth $200. I was like damn hold up this may be my rarest record, I gotta treasure this thing! So I kept it sealed. Crazy seeing the prices people are currently selling it for.

that blonde vinyl is my white elephant. It’s my favorite album of all time. I’m terrified that the second I spend $600+ on one there’s gonna be a surprise second release lmao.

actually a lot of older/popular albums get repressed all the time so most of them are easy to find brand new

I was lucky enough to actually find the ‘In Rainbows’ box for about half of the estimated price, however I’ve never actually played it so maybe there’s a reason it was half its usual price
if you ever do make another one of these, there's this album called "once upon a time in shaolin" by the wu-tang clan. not only is the vinyl copy the only physical copy in existence, but it's literally THE only copy in existence. it was never released digitally, never leaked, never sold physically, meaning that whoever has the vinyl is the only person in existence to have ever listened to the album (besides the creators, of course.)
it was auctioned off for 2 MILLION DOLLARS to martin shkreli, before he got arrested by police. after that, the record went into the possession of the government, and nobody has ever heard it since, meaning its basically lost media.

My greatest investment so far was buying Everywhere At The End of Time by The Caretaker (AKA the dementia album) on vinyl. Sold for 1,100 which is uhhh pretty good.

Tally Hall’s Good & Evil is one of the most expensive albums I’ve ever seen. 1,000+ dollars for the CD alone, the price for the vinyl is unbelievable.
I think it’s cause it was only sold at concerts and through pre-orders but I might be wrong.

Sample issues. The original pressing has all original samples, but other releases after the first pressing have sample copyright issues. Also, the cover, since the baby changed to Biggie only to later change back to the original artwork.

I have memories of trying to bid for a vinyl version of my favorite album, Hawaii Part ii, and by the time I was ready to bid it was already well over $1000. Every time I see anything related to Hawaii part ii it’s usually always over or around the $500 range. It’s crazy.

I remember seeing DG’s Exmillitary (prolly a bootleg, idk if the band ever officially pressed that one) going for something like $250 in a shop that has since closed down. Part of me regrets letting it sit, but I just didn’t have the cash for it

2 years ago when I began my record collecting adventure, I was at a local record store of mine that recently closed down and surprisingly I saw 2 sealed copies of what I recognized to be Death grips government plates on the wall, I asked the owner how much they were and he said the one was a $60 bootleg and the other was a $300 Official copy. I scoffed and thought $300 was obviously a ridiculous price at the time. What a steal I missed out on.
I thought on the first video that Led Zeppelin's blue variant or Ride the Lightning's green variant. Great video as usual man

I have an uncle who is a huge Radiohead fan. About four months ago, I went to his house and in the guest bedroom where I was staying, there was something big on the top shelf in the closet. It was the box set of In Rainbows. Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that he would have the box set, as he is really a huge fan

Fishmans have a bunch of albums that cost an arm and a leg. Especially their most revered album, 98.12.28, which was only pressed as a part of a boxset. The boxset can’t be found for less than $1,500, even on Japanese sites like Buyee unless you hit the lottery.

I got the Black Friday Blond CD, it is my most precious possession, recently searched it on eBay, only one copy listed for 800 AUD, wow.

Crazy to watch this, as I have the In Rainbows boxset and the Blonde and Endless black Friday vinyl releases. All bought directly at the time of release. I even have the Blonde CD and the Endless CD/DVD. Not a seller but never could have imagined they would be worth so much. All my Frank Ocean stuff is still sealed as too scared to open it due to the values. Only one I have opened is the Endless CD for obvious reasons.
The pressing of The Long Goodbye - LCD Soundystem’s last show recording goes for an insane amount of cash. Like easily $500 plus. Discogs has it “starting at” $420!

You can get certain bootlegs of Frank’s material in some record stores for normal price, that’s definitely the way to go if you aren’t a collector

Im not sure if anyone else has brought this up but the viynl pressings for Gaga's Art Pop before 2019 is an interesting one. During 2019 after the R Kelly documentary came out, they decided to remove the song Do What U Want not only from streaming services but all future vinyl and cd pressings since R Kelly is featured on it. The average price for a vinyl with the unaltered track listing is around $240 on Discogs.

I had sealed 4 copies of the death grips album when it came out on record store day. Sold all of them over the years, should have held.
I know something that's not that expensive, but is still steep. LCD Soundsystem, Theong Goodbye was their "final" album which got a 5 disc boxset for record store day which goes for like 500 bucks. Great live show.
