- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth keeps getting slammed with tons of massive updates, ranging from new patches, new interviews with insight into Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 3, and new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sales figures. I just remembered that in the original FF7 Cid has a big leading roll after the incident at the northern crater. He lead the party while Cloud and Tifa were in Mideel, so now it makes sense to me that big parts of Cid's story as well as him being playable are being saved for the third game.
Forsure! He has always been my favorite final fantasy character.

I just hate that the new update glitched the Party Animal side quest. Beat out Shinra middle manager’s high score on G-Bike and it won’t progress further smh

The camera missions now do not show the cut scene with cloud holding the camera. You can still complete them, but there is no camera held when he looks down.
Just finished today 100% of the game, with 180h+ of game.... and i can say it without any doubt, that Final Fantasy Rebirth is top 10 of all games i already played in my life, and i have 40 years of gameplay since atari 2600. So i dont put this without a heavy experience in games... final fantasy rebirth its a master piece in every aspect they propose to offer.
I completely agree. I have 30 years in gaming and the risk of changing the original was a gamble (in my opinion), and it was WELL worth it. From nostalgia to expanded lore. There are a FEW games that I don't watch trailers, play demos, while waiting or even search how-to's while even playing, and this was one of them along with remake. Searched every nook and cranny to expand the length as much as possible cause I didn't want it to end 😂.
I bought a Ps5 just for this game, and I'm in love with the game, I'm at 85 hours and no where near finishing everything I can do in this game, enjoying most of the quest and the mini games

I feel like Rocket Town will the the starting area for part 3. in the Ending we see the party flying off in the repaired Bronco. It makes sense to me that Cid would probably stop by Rocket town to stock up and refuel while the party plans their next move; and this is where we get into his backstory and he offically becomes a playable character by the end of it.

nah straight to the northern crater, getting cloud fixed up in his lifestream part with tifa, which has aeriths "burial" scene added to it because cloud is delusional. And then the game starts 🤣
Surely the start is either Icicle Inn or Rocket Town. I think that it might open with the party trying to fly north but there's a strong blizzard that the tiny bronco can't get through, so they either turn around and go to rocket town or they crash in the icicle inn region. It's important to remember that it needs to be a good opening act like bombing mission / nibelheim flashback, rocket town would probably be uneventful for a demo that's supposed to hook people
Yeah thank you this sounds like unless plus we pick up the highwind pretty soon after this point in time the original of course the submarine will be useful, but i don’t think there will be any use for the bronco in the final part maybe besides the arrears with water if they add things to those places,
@@m4ur1r4g3Maybe cloud can’t tell cid to land the bronco since they are still flying on it, so it needs to get left behind so it can get seaped out with the highwind as the main flying transportation because otherwise why would they even need the highwind at that point, but i don’t think rocket town will be a big part of the game unless we go back aside from the big materia, and sending the rocket into meteor, but i am sure everything up in, and the final dungeon will be a really long part i can see the final form of the northern crater so it makes fighting god Septhiroth, even more intense, and terrifying singe the characters will have to face off with him k i can’t wait to see everyone fighting Septhiroth, in the sky lovket dimension we fight him in, or his twisted heaven since it’s similar to Kefka.
My main issue with the graphics remains the pop-in. Some objects don't load their higher resolution textures in quick enough so there's a jarring change in quality, while other objects like tufts of grass sometimes don't load in at all until you get close.
call me a boomer but i played in graphics mode and loved it and didn't notice any performance issues. glad they fixed some of the harder mini games though :)
FF7 Remake released to a market that had literally nowhere to go and very little to do.
In regards to sales, we do have one interesting tidbit (nothing we can draw any sort of definitive conclusion from, but interesting nonetheless) we see that in digital store that it already has more ratings than ff16 21k vs 23k. Again, that doesn't tell us anything concrete, but I'd bet it sold just fine. Nothing like pokemon or COD, but it still likely is performing just fine
I am just waiting for it to come to Steam.
A thing to remember too is Remake came out when Covid was going on so more people were stuck at home.

Just a heads up, sales were finally released for Japan, and FFVII Rebirth was Japan's #1 best seller for March.
To everyone still watching this irrelevant video, The information source for the sales data in this vid, Chris Dring (of gamesindustry), only has access to physical data (via UPC scans) from the UK. Also, it should be noted that in Japan physical media is pretty much being replaced by digital, and the rest of the world is following in suit.

What I’m excited about in part 3, is hopefully returning to the Forgotten Capital and being able to explore a little bit. While beautiful, we only got to hop down some mountain terrain and walk right into the giant shell to save Aerith. I was hoping we would get to explore a bit beforehand. But I know we go back in the OG, I’m just hoping we get that segment in the remake.
Yeah, I'm really hoping they provide some exploration in the Forgotten Capital in Part 3

When it came to Disk 3 of the original FF7 it was pretty much just a dungeon plot wise and some optional bosses. Considering how you can travel the world map on the tiny bronco by the end of Rebirth travel by Airship should be possible. They can also develop more zones for the northern continent and intergate the to the rest of the world.
I think you're spot on 💯 Definitely see Rocket Town, the Icicle Inn area, Mideel, and Wutai being large explorable areas. Perhaps even underwater as well?
Lasted ff7rb patch has bug in the last side quest. Party animal, the G bike mini game can’t be completed. I had to reinstall disc version to solve this.

I don't quite understand how they're going to make part 3 big enough to span disk 2/3 of the original unless they make shortcuts. How are they going to do the weapons, great crater, mideel, temp of the ancients and everything else. Unless it's 3-4 discs
Temple of the Ancients was in Rebirth though...
So as far as actual content goes part 3 could be around the same size as Rebirth, but will likely hit closer to the 200 GB limit of 2 PS5 disks. In terms of actual story/game progression in the original Final Fantasy VII the rough halfway mark is the Red Dragon fight in the Temple of the Ancients. What mostly ate up the disk space relating to the second half of the game is the FMVs. The FMV at the end of disk 3 in particular was very very large for the time which is why story wise that disk 3 only had the northern crater as the final dungeon.
the 3rd disk of the og was just for the north crater and final fight. Only reason they need 3 disks was because of all the cutscenes. The whole game is actually on each disk.
Can't wait to see what the team comes up with in terms of the knights of the roundtable summon.

If anything it's gonna be King Arthur as the summon and the other knights will appear purely for the ultimate or for other summon skills
I dont want to fight knights of the round at all lol. The legendary bout with cloud, and friend are stupidly hard. I could only imagine how crazy knights will be for my aging brain😅
I’m hoping for it to work a bit like Gilgamesh. Throughout the game we collect different knights, to upgrade a summon materia or as different materia, until we get King Arthur at the end and it combines into Knights of the Round.

I was gunna say XD physical media is reallllly on it's way out. In the case of helldivers(also in bed with Sony) being number 1 (first of all GREAT GAME) is also multi platform- I sort of hope that they look at those numbers and do less exclusives- idk the exact math but wouldn't they stand to make more if it's more places?

Hi, can someone pls explain to me how Aerith transcedence ability works and how to get 2 level of this skill as fast as possible? I have seen it does some good dmg at level 2 but I dont understand how it works, thanks!
So you have to cast transcendence TWICE in order for the damage to start coming in. Let me know if that works! Really helps on getting rid of the Gigantuars in the Corel World Intel minigame
I can't wait to see Knights of the Round summon materia. If this summon is surprisingly not going to be in the third game, I will definitely be disappointed. I also would like to see the characters going up against the planet weapons as well.
I have a feeling it will get its own protorelic type of quest, and that we get back story of who and what the knights are.
@@1981mrdavid Right, think KOTR is going to be similar as to how we aquire Gilgamesh in Rebirth. I can see something like that happening but I am sure battling so many knights is going to be a very difficult battle, a long with fighting the planet weapons. I just hope the content is in the third game and I will be pretty surprised if it isn't.

I don't remember any ghosts in FF7, or alternate timelines, many people (like whole sector 7) survived who should be dead, the background for many characters is altered (f.e. Wutai still at war, Yuffie's backstory, Avalanche is a way bigger militia, Sephiroth's story, events appear that should start way after ff7 original story), characters know what they should not know, many events out of order...the list goes on. Remake was no remake, it is a sequel and a bad one at that. Seriously the story makes no sense at all. A typical Kingdom Hearts story....

Most of us already expect rocket town in the 3rd title. We got Cid early without going there. In the og, when you go there the first time, you really don't do much besides obtain the tiny bronco. You go back later for the space mission. It makes more sense to just visit it later in this remake trilogy since Cid is already with us. We also expect Wutai, and a big war. I am also really hoping KOTR gets it's own protorelic type of quest and we get back story of who and what the knights are.
All these sales numbers but we dont know digital and digital is considered almost half of sales these days. Its silly to compare numbers to the first one due to system base and changing culture. Im sure Square is happy enough
Probably even more than half at this point. You'd think they could just take total digital sales values from each country divided by cost to gain a rough estimate.
@joshg7949 I believe digital sales are almost 90% of all videogame sales since 2023 anyway so all these reports of physical sales really mean nothing. Until Square shares real data/earnings to shareholders/public we won't know.
If the physical copies weren't selling I would have been able to buy one since the opened preo orders. They were sold out the entire time so I had no choice but to go digital. The game clearly sold plenty.
@@nathanking5137i was able to pre order physically perfectly fine, i also bought digital cause i wanted to keep it sealed but i bought a copy in japan and its significantly cheaper than america. Instead of 70 dollars i paid 35-40 dollars. For a brand new ff7 rebirth. This could also be why they haven’t listed the actual sales if they are selling at different prices in different countries
I am curious about a few things. Without spoiling the contents of the third disk, will we have to relevel in all that chaos?
With all that takes place will it possibly be a 4th game if we are only starting at Rocket Town?
Finally, will this be a balance of the two games? Since remake was fight heavy and rebirth was explore heavy.
Good thoughts! The developers have explicitly stated that the remake series will be across 3 games, so the next one will definitely be the last. That said, there is A LOT of stuff happening in disc 2 and, to a lesser extent, disc 3, and both the contents of those games will be in part 3, but just expanded on. So for part 3, there will be less areas introduced to the player, since we almost had the entirety of the world map at our disposal in Rebirth, but the game will be significantly larger, since, combined with the new areas, we will be going back to several locations from Remake and Rebirth in the final game
A few things I think about with FF16:
1 - that first dlc was ready so quickly it made me believe it was cut content turned into dlc (not an issue just an observation)
2 - FF16 sold really well despite the FF fans I spoke with who refused to buy 16 because the second 7R is coming (it was a year out).
3 - I wonder if the tidal dlc will have an alternate ending for the main scenario. If only 15 got that treatment.. still a little mad that they cut off the last couple of planed dlc's for it and changed them into a novel that wasn't released in my country.
Yeah, I wonder how this DLC may impact the ending, since this takes place before the final part of the story. I doubt it, but it would be cool to see
The only patch i want is some balancing for the Brutal and Legendary Challenges. I managed to beat them but had to go to youtube and look for guides with the most brilliant builds.

I played on performance mode, and it is one of the best-looking games i played. I am old, i dont care so much about it looking picture perfect. I care nore about the experience, and this game has plenty of that!
I played in performance mode the entire time, and the game still looked phenomenal. I could tell the difference from the graphical mode, but it wasn’t much. As for all the bugs and things they fixed all the enough I never really ran into any of them.
Performance mode really only seems jarring if you go from graphics mode to performance after a long period otherwise you are for sure right. Still looks really good. 60 fps is a must.
Me too, I couldnt stand the sluggish graphics mode. Some games plays fine at 30fps, but not this one.
I have never touched performance mode. Yeah I probably would have more accurate precision block timing. But I have almost finished my hard mode on Graphics mode and I am determined to keep that going.
Couldnt tell a difference in performance between graphics and performance modes. Only difference i saw was graphical difference between both. Maybe cause i have a sony tv with all the options that the ps5 has to offer including vrr so that could be a big difference. 4k on the game was phenomenal and i could do my blocks and dodges perfectly with no issues at all.

I hope they bring everything in part 3 that is left out from the original they haven't shown yet like submarine, all Giant weapons, underwater, Highraise, Rocket Town, when they show Cloud is a clone, Northern area, Yuffies place, the hidden places, new places, Vince's backstory, Knights of the realm, everything I left out that's in the original that they haven't put in Rebirth 👍

OK I'm happy to hear its at least doing decently well outside Japan. The lack of SE announcement is a bit strange but lets remember that SE took 10 days to announce Remake's 3.5m in a single weekend (or in 3 days as they said) whereas with XVI they announced 3m in one week after 5 or 6 days. Their silence doesn't have to 100% indicate that they're unhappy with the numbers.
Rebirth was almost perfect. I just want more of it. Playing as Vincent and Cid will be awesome as well and I hope for pleasant surprises like adding a different character as part of the main cast (please Zack) that would be awesome. Also we really need more outfits and they can't be locked to game completion. Can't wait for Wutai either since they said it will be a big portion in part 3 as well.

I’m betting Requiem, which is similar to remembrance in being a “mass for the dead” and “giving eternal rest”. This goes with the theory that there will be a version of sephiroth who is actually seeking clouds help to stop jenova, as if he’s been stuck in the life stream. Her cells can’t return to the life stream so she is essentially in the same position as the Gi, which gives requiem at least a double meaning since they’re both aliens. If you include the reunion then it’s a triple meaning, as it also is a synonym for a ritual/ceremony. My 2 cents ✌@@funmylife9248

They won’t go all digital. Sony owns blu-ray technology. Other platforms are going all digital so they don’t have to pay the fee to make physical products via data.

Been playing in Performance and it looks out of this world and exceeded all my expectations.. it's a shame the focus is on a minority of nit pickers.
I really can't wait for Tifa to save Cloud in the lifestream in part 3. I hope they make it incredibly emotional and touching. Maybe even a little dark like FFXVI was at parts.
had my game on in background in energy saver mode it closed my game lost hours or playing and grinding lol
No issues prior to update. Within 48 hours of update had the game flat out crash. Multiple times in game it would freeze for 30 seconds at a time.
Obviously user issue. Clean your dusty ps5 and it will never have that issue. Usually when there’s a notable issue it’s widespread. Considering you’re the first person I’ve seen say this, it’s a strong indication it’s due to an overheating and dirty console.

Will we get the weapons going on a rampage like the old game? That was a story element everyone liked, & I don't like the new design for them, I want the old godzilla inspired weapons back.
I have a feeling all the small weapons are going to merge together into the big ones we all remember, or turn into them in some way.
Yeah I think the fish weapons are just like tadpoles that will evolve into the other weapons honestly it makes sense considering a non full strength projection of sephiroth was able to harm them so they would evolve to be better able to defend the earth
I tried to get the deluxe edition and couldn't because it was sold out. Not even the collectors edition, just deluxe. So i bought digital until its available
Man, it would be extremely cool if they made Sephiroth beatable from the beginning, like Tears of the Kingdom. Just like Chrono Trigger, how much and how you go about completing the game affects the ending. Like, you have the choice to see Cid‘s, Vincent‘s or Cait Sith‘s backstories, and how far you explore it affects the story. Could you go throughout the entire game not knowing who is controlling Cait Sith? Or if Vincent really opens up? Or do we actually have enough relationship with Cid to actually „fully unlock“ the Highwind? This just feels like a natural evolution for this since the goal is clear: Stop Sephiroth

Don't forget that in the sales, number 16 was also the combo pack for Remake/Rebirth, so it took on 4th and 16th.
I just started to play the final fantasy 7 remake on pc, i must admit that SQUARE ENIX really out done themselves with this game I can’t wait to finish it and then when “rebirth” finally comes out on steam i will definitely buy it but tell me something have you heard anything about any DLC in the works for final fantasy VII rebirth like summons, equipment, and other hidden episode like they did with Yuffie on remake????
Remake was great. Rebirth is so much better its crazy. Exceeded all of my expectations. I really didn't think they be able to make it as open world as it is.
No plans for DLC
Apparently Square is not planning on releasing DLC for Rebirth as they jumped right into Part 3 and want to put their focus into that

Many people are waiting for Remake Part 3 before they engage with the series at all. As for 16, I had heard there was "a desire" to offer full party control in an additional patch. It won't be a real FF game until that's done.
After you beat the game can you use sephiroth in any story missions or free roam and fight bosses with him

This patch completely messes up a side quest, Can't Stop Won't Stop that appears at the end of chapter 12 making it ao that some of the minigames at the golden saucer even if you beat the high score it doesnt mark it as complete and there is no fix for digital copies
Aw man, I hope its not new content. I just blitzballed that game over the course of 2 weeks. I realy hope they fix Perfomance mode being bilinear and sorted out the bad mountain LOD where a low poly mountain just pops into 4K textures and back as you go back and forth. Sharp option sounds interesting depending on tv set up!
Man, I would love to see what Blitzball would look and play like in a X remake...
@@funmylife9248 Don't get me started. I replayed X in 8K on PC last year and i was stunned. Heck, what i'd do for an FF8 remake too. I never played 7 in the 90's but 8 and 10 where my first 2!

I wish they would make the piano minigame a little bit more forgiving, I have so many inputs registered wrong that I can't even get rank A for every song....
Skill issue?
Well I pull the stick down for a note and the game first registers a movement up which completely kills my run about every tenth note I play. Dunno if that has much to do with skill 🤷♂️

We fight it with Sephiroth in the Nibelheim flashback. They probably just didn't want to repeat the boss battle.
60fps is too good imo to care about going to graphics mode. Trying to go to it, it feels like my eyes are having seizures, kinda like FF16
These people complaining dont seem to understand that scarfing graphics for frame rate will result in lower graphics. People need to get over it. Also the update kind of helped but not drastically.
30fps is the standard for video games. Anything more is completely unnecessary
no its not with how games come out today. 30 fps games are ancient. HMaybe 30 fps for high end graphics but not 60 fps. Yall are trippin. With you saying that shows your infancy in gaming. I dont know what to tell you

The patch broke the last quest i'm on.
Spent a total of 180 hours on this game and got the platinum, this game is awesome and there is plenty to do. Its definitely worth buying 100% definitely looking forward to the final part.
Speaking on part 3 i believe we will go to the wutai region, rocket town, northern continent/region, northern crater, under water region, islands and lands to explore with the highwind and most likely playing in past or future events until the inevitable conclusion. Im sure the final part will be 100 hours for sure.
The post processing effects and forced TAA make performance mode look far blurrier than any downgraded textures. They didn't properly design the game to look good without TAA and that's the reason it hasn't been fixed.
For perspective, Tekken 8 has the same issue and with mods, most of that crap can be disabled making it look far cleaner and sharper.

As far as sales go, it should also be noted that it was PS5 only. Remake being on ps4 in basically its last strong year, meant it had nearly a decade of time for people to buy it. I only finally got a ps5 myself late last year
Honestly I love ffvii rebirth. It's a great game and I love the improvements from the past title (ffvii original). Square Enix in my personal opinion creates masterpieces. I would even go far as to say they are the best game maker.
I just wanted a pure remake, this strange sequel thing we have got with remake and rebirth is just not it. The peaks and dips in quality and the massive bloat of part two took away from my enjoyment.
I’m loving rebirth still but truth be told, IMO, some of them mini games make me cuss at these NPCs when I finished. I doubt I’ll want to get the “perfect score” on some. The piano segments, A will suffice and even that is coming along with a few shouts.
I might be in the minority of people and it is probably also due to my aging brain lol but I would like to see a checkpoint system for some of the longer hard mode combat challenges in the next game. Allowing you to start at the beginning of the battle with your party how it was when you entered the fight. It gets really frustrating quick having to go through all previous fights just to be able to attempt the one you failed on again.

It feels really good to beat the challenges but it doesnt take away from the fact it makes no sense that you cant see what enemies you will face before you fight them once. Ends up waisting time and making people go to youtube, or guides to see what they will fight next so they dont keep running in to that same problem.
Even now, The performance mode just looks like a huge downgrade. Now, I never expect performance mode to look as good. However, No game has ever had such a large discrepancy between the 2 modes on console. That I know of anyway. But the resolution in Performance mode isn't nearly as low as the image looks. That's what I am confused on. 🤔
Well im a little disapointed. I mean the game is awesome and all but i was hoping so much that this time the game isnt bothering me with the unbelivable (to) rare amount of the Magnify and some of the other Materias >.< . Ohnestly when i played the original Final fantasy 7 i had by the time i left Midgard already 4 Magnify Materias. Til todyay i still hope they make a Patch sometime in the future where they add in some good hidden places here and there a few more of these to rare placed Materias.
And it completely fucked "can't stop won't stop" so I miss out on the 100% and platinum. Fuck me apart...

The big omissions are no DS and 3DS. Was never a fan of the DS when I had it. I tried putting 3DS last night but Citra is dead. Didn’t bother afterwards. No PS3 as I hear they usually don’t launch at all unlike on the ROG Ally and Legion Go. No need to include Wii U because the Switch already has the best ports from it.
I have a few doubles of the same game. Like I have NBA Street Vol. 2 for both GameCube and Xbox. The Xbox version is the one I owned. It’s the best-looking one and it loads faster during the intro. But I kept the GameCube version because Dolphin is the more mature emulator and it’s more battery efficient than Xemu. I also have the SNES and MAME version of Mortal Kombat II. The SNES port is the one I owned and mastered playing.
OG Xbox is an interesting console to emulate. It was the most powerful of the 6th generation with graphics still holding up 20 years later. But it has the weakest library between it, DC, PS2, and GCN. Hence, why Xbox emulation is behind. I felt Xbox was what Sony promised to deliver with the PS2 but PS2 *technically* underdelivered. PS2 is the most popular, but it had some of the worst graphics of that four. Microsoft engineers defeated Sony in that gen with better specs.
Not that PlayStation 2 was that weak. It matured by 2005. I’m playing Rogue Galaxy from 2007 and it definitely looks like the best-looking game on the console. I doubt Dreamcast could run God of War and Rogue Galaxy at 60 fps when it could barely handle Shenmue II. PS2 was very much like Sega Saturn where it had this hidden potential to make beautiful games but it was difficult to develop for.
Saturn is the one I can’t run. Another complicated console to develop for similar to PS2 and PS3 but far less popular. No concise tutorials for it on RUclips and I’m clueless how to use CHDMAN. I may skip that one like I will with NDS. I never grew up owning a Saturn, so I don’t have nostalgia for it. I barely bought it in 2004 at a GameCrazy and rarely used it. I only want to play obscure 2D platformers like Super Tempo and Tryrush Deppy but it’s no big deal if I can’t play them.
MAME is very hit or miss. Can’t seem to run the Model 2, 3, and NAOMI games. Can’t even launch any Street Fighter II game or Tekken Tag. But it can run Mortal Kombat I & II and NBA Jam & TE just fine which was the opposite experience with my Vita. My Vita plays the arcade version of Super Street Fighter II perfectly but can’t play the Midway classics.
I do have some stinkers like WWF Wrestlemania, The Adventures of Bayou Billy and The Karate Kid on NES. But I did own Bayou Billy and remember beating The Karate Kid many times circa 1989-1990. One of the easiest games to beat similar to Kung Fu. Since most NES games are under a megabyte, it’s easier not to be picky. If it has some childhood attachment to me, I’ll download it even if the game is awful.
Steam Deck is the GOAT, folks. Can play almost every generation and for under $300 if you look at the used market. Odin 2 can’t play Wii U or any recent AAA titles like FFVII Remake and Elden Ring. Steam Deck is the perfect balance of performance, price, ecosystem, and support. It’s the best gaming device I’ve ever owned. I’m only gaming on handhelds for the rest of my life.

I don’t need it or any console that’s tethered to a TV. AAA titles are dying. They’re becoming too expensive and too long to make. With all that power, you want AAA titles coming out every 10 years? Since the PS4/Xbone era, we don’t have limitations coming from hardware like previous gens. The limitations are coming from the man power and budget. Do developers want to spend at least 5 years making one AAA game?
Console era is over. Every game system from here on out should be portable. Then I expect companies like Microsoft and Sony to be gatekeepers to their library like Valve. Most games will move to the cloud and subscription based. If you see my list of titles on my Deck, you can see I’m allergic to many modern games in Gen 7-9. I hate first-person shooters. Very few modern games I would consider fun. It’s more boring and complicated.
I’m in Chapter 12 in FF7R and I don’t love it as much as the OG. There is a lot of meandering scenes and padding to the gameplay. Beautiful to look at. Not as fun to play. This is my problem with most AAA titles after Gen 6. True, they look good to look at. Give me Tifa with the graphical power we have now compared to 1997. But many of these games are also a burden and tedious to play. I read Red Dead Redemption II is a slogfest. 😴

The only complaint i have about performance mode is there were still times when playing that i would experience frame drops in performance mode but it didnt ruin my experience
The update is doing something to my PS5. If I start the game my console starts doing weird sounds. If I play other games it doesn’t 😅 I’m afraid of destroying my PS5 if I continue playing the game.

to be fair a lot of other games performance mode isn't as blurry as ff7 rebirth. they are lower quality in assets like texture and lighting, but not like having nearsighted eyes where distance object and npcs a blurry.
Even in quality mode there’s tons of spots where the textures are absolutely trash.

Even in graphics mode there are too many low/ugly textures. Especially in Gongaga, the foliage texture looks like ps2.

I just hope Part 3 of remake has less bloat than FF7 Rebirth. Like it or not, there was a lot of garbage content injected into the game that it honestly got in the way of the pacing. Th eplayer isn't going to think "oh I can just skip and come back later" if they've played JRPG's before. Instead its a question of "What cool thing am I going to miss or what powerful or power boosting item would I be missing out on". Saddly the former never holds up and it traps items behind medocrity. I'd even go as far as to say that a lot of the mini games were just bad, the world jumping puzzles and constant injection of unnecessary boss battles that weren't in the original game didn't lend themselves to improving Rebirth over Disc 1 post midgar. Midgarzormer I'm looking at you, since you could have just as easily been a Part 3 super boss, an OMEGA for FF7 P3. Some area layouts are just bad to boot.
FF16 honest didn't need the DLC, but I'm glad to have it, but something tells me a prequel could have better served Leviathans story; as DLC tends to be very tact on and doesn't really address a lot of issues well. Very few games handle this kind of back filling with any grace, but those that do tend to already have a story structured in such a way that episodes fit into an arc in any order. For example Mass Effect 2, which FF7 is most certainly not. At least not until after the northern crator and the weapons were released unto the world. FF16 I'd say suffers from the same issue and is far more problematic then FF7 in this regard.
That being said I'm happy to get the Leviathan DLC and I hope the team moves onto another project. FF16 is fantastic, part of the reason is that its pretty self contained. It doesn't need expansion or additional content outside of Leviathan and the fallen. It handles all of its details well enough to tell the story it needed to tell.
Big questions I have now is, when can I play FF16 on my Steam Deck or Deck 2 and when do we get to see FF17.
