    Saw one of these in silver on the streets of Tokyo the other day and it stopped me in my tracks. I love vintage cafe style bikes and this one was stopped at a light. I couldn’t figure out what it was and originally wondered if it was some new Japanese electric cafe bike. I waited until the light turned green so it could pass me and noticed it had a real engine… still had no idea what it was because it really isn’t branded like other bikes on the tank. Anyway decided to try and look it up on the internet and found it was a Husqvarna. Coolest newer bike I’ve seen in a long time. Thanks for the information.

    Thanks for the video. I got a Svartpilen 401 about 6 months ago and love it. Only have about 400 miles on it. I want a little more bottom end so maybe the Fuel X lite would be the ticket. I like the mods you did and plan to do similar. Thanks for the ideas. Ride safe brother.

      FuelXLite does help with that bottom end. As i’m sure you are already aware, these bikes will never be fast. However, the fuelxlite and decat on mine made a noticeable difference. If you have any other questions please reach out. Enjoy your Svart!

      I’m not sure what current inventory is like but I got mine from motorcycle spare parts.eu. You can look up a 401 from basically anywhere other than the US and they’ll have these LED turn signals. US requires incandescent turn signals because of silly DOT laws.

    One of the cleanest Vitpilens I've seen! I'm looking to also install the Domino A010 grips and wonder if you had any problems installing them. I've seen that the throttle tube has 4 tabs standing out. Did you just sand them off?

    • @ridewithKY
      @ridewithKY  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! I didn’t modify the throttle tube. I did a slight modification to the grips however to make them fit on the throttle side. I supposed you could modify the throttle tube but for me I’d rather modify the grip itself. Other than that, it went on perfectly and without issue.

      Reddit is probably going to be the only option at this point. There used to be a Vitpilen forum but it has been down for quite a while. RUclips is also a great resource for info on these. They are great bikes but there are a few things to look out for quality wise.

    Subscribed, a fellow Californian. I'm in SoCal in the vicinity of Malibu, where are you? I got my 2022 Vit 401 in Oct. All I've done is put on mirror extenders and swingarm spools. With the extenders the mirrors are great. I kinda' think they are an integral part of he design. I like the hugger look so I retained it. I used a longer screw on the hugger side and didn't tighten it so much to damage the hugger. I haven't lifted the bike on them yet but I think it will be ok. The dealership gave no warnings about them when I took it in for the first service. I really like the slim original levers. I've got no other plans for mods, I'm really enjoying it the way it is. Cheers.

      Thanks for subscribing! Malibu is such a beautiful area, love to go riding there sometime. I’m in Northern California, not near the scenery you folks have. Where did you get your swingarm spools from? I put some nylon bobbins on mine and that’s been working out ok so far. Glad you are enjoying your 401 bro.

      Thank you! It has a Fuel X Lite. It’s basically just a fuel dongle. The factory fueling on these is pretty bad, really jerky down low, have to shift down a ton to keep the RPM up. The Fuel X Lite really cleaned it up in the lower RPM’s.

    I hated the fenrir mirrors. They have bad weight to them so I got way more vibration, they never really stayed put and even got caught in my break lever once. The one on my right aisle flew off on the BQE. 3/10 would not recommend.

    • @ridewithKY
      @ridewithKY  Год назад +2

      Thanks so much for the info. Mine also vibrate like crazy, but I thought that might be attributed more to the fact this is a single cylinder. What did you end up replacing yours with? I’m thinking I should do the same and replace mine.

    • @ridewithKY

      I don’t recall the specs. I had to use that screw because I was using a carbon chain guard so even if I had the specs it probably wouldn’t work for your application anyways. If there is a hardware store close, I would take the bike there and have an employee help you get the right fasteners. Thank you! Removing weight and adding a little more power via Coober header, DNA air filter lid, and Fuel X Lite definitely offset the front sprocket change. You can definitely ditch traffic even with the 16 tooth sprocket. Figure it’s only 300 lbs and has around 45 horsepower.

    If you cannot torque down the sprocket guard properly, you are asking for an oil leak as these bolts double to secure that brown/gold engine casting. I found this out through personal experience.

    Hi great vid thanks for the info . My wife bought me one as a surprise gift and i love it ,mines a svartpilen very similar. Been thinking of exhaust mods and going with the 2019 style wrap around the engine and a chamber delet any reason you did not go with that style ? Mine is very unresponsive at low rpm bit jerky to hope to do what you did . Exhaust , fuel etc 👍👍🇬🇧

    • @ridewithKY
      @ridewithKY  Год назад +1

      That’s a heck of a gift! I think going with the 2019 and older version of the exhaust routing would be a wise move. I have no way to quantify it, but seems like the older exhaust routing had a better flow to it. You’ll also gain ground clearance by going with the older routing. I did not go this route because I did want to mess with relocating some of the hoses, sensors, etc. It’s not a difficult task but I didn’t want to deal with it. If you are willing to slightly move a few things around, then the 2019 and older exhaust is the way to go. Cheers!
