As far as the mic goes, yes it’s definitely underwhelming once I heard it on RUclips, while it editing it sounded fine but that’s on me for not listening to the audio on multiple sources. I’d suggest if you’re going for mic quality to try the base version with the plastic ear cups, as from reviews I’ve watched praise it’s mic over the SE model!
Nice video man, i just bought these and have been struggling trying to get them to work with my astro mixamp. Audio sounds funky and my friends can hear my game though my mic for some reason. Any idea of what’s wrong?
I have never used an Astro mixamp, I would suggest trying to use the headphones purely with the provided usb dongle as that’s how Corsair designed them to be used.

I agree, they do sound “dead” or flat. To make the headphones sound relatively better use the icue software to eq it (it kind of helps). The main use is for gamers who don’t want cables and don’t really for audio quality. It’s serious trade off. You do get used to the bland audio profile, but it’s mediocre :/
@@MangoTalksTech I read the box and it says that the usb is better for sound quality so I have it on sub mode and turned on the 7.1 surround then equalized the audio to my liking when I equalized the audio I turned all sliders down while listening to instrumental and kinda bassy music I used kid Cudi but you could do whoever you’d like to.

Was going to purchase these today, but it looks like they still didn't fix the mic issue. It sounds nasaly and sounds like you have the flu. Bummer.

Can any creator give us a comparison between wireless and wired modes for mics?
I understand that the mic on SE version was worse than the regular Virtuoso RGB. So has that been fixed with a software update?
The mic used in this video was with the updated SE firmware!
