- George Santos is now a former congressman after the House voted Friday to expel the New York Republican. Santos is just the sixth House member in U.S. history to be expelled and the first in more than 20 years. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion has more.

Remind Santos on the legal consequences on blabbing our Nation's secrets. Make sure the door hits his behind on the way out!

I’m ashamed and disappointed in our politicians.
There was due process. It is a Congressional issue not a criminal one, and his expulsion is not a criminal procedure. If he couldn’t defend himself to the Congressional inquiry responsible for reporting to Congress that is his problem not theirs. If he wants to influence the report he has to testify to it. The criminal matter is entirely separate.
Like it or not though, this process does not apply to private citizen Trump running for office. In fact the Constitution has nothing to say, does it, about a candidate being a felon or not, right? The crime of Insurrection is a disqualifying issue, constitutionally, but remember Trump has not been charged with insurrection.
Is Kevin McCarthy going to go to New York now to feed George Santos who will probably start feeling pretty depressed?

As Santos continues to bemoan the fact this was appalling since he has not been convicted of a crime - he's right! He hasn't been convicted but that is not what this expulsion is about. He still has his freedom and is not behind bars - it was a simple statement that is behavior was not worthy of being a Congressional member and the House vote was the right action. We'll stay tuned though for his conviction and sentencing coming to a TV near you next September.
