Inevitable order. Boeing played this one right walking away from the order earlier because of ridiculous pricing request. O'Leary had to come back to the table and paying more than he wanted to. He admitted that himself.
i’m excited to see more airlines buying the MAX 10, it’s one of my favorite planes but all bias aside, I think it’s a pretty good fit for low budget airlines like Ryanair.
My sister and her family flew from Luton to Ireland West (Knock) for under £30 return. To fly that distance for that price I wouldn't give a toss if I was standing up for the journey. My sister said that her 6 foot 5 inch husband had more room on the Ryanair that on a recent BA flight they took.
Most of the people in this comment section sound like they would jump off a cliff just because their friends said so! So many people hate ryanair for no reason have you even tried flying with ryanair? Properly not why? Because dave said he once had a bad flight (stuck in delays or french ATC protest) 5 years ago!
Ironically in my opinion I find Ryanair has the best legroom out of most 737 operators in Europe (Jet2, TUI, transavia, correndon, etc.), I"m 1.85m and have no issue with my knees at all while at the other airlines my knees are jammed into the seatpocket or armrest system from the seat ahead of me
Ryanair; Always hear horror stories about an abysmal flying experience.. They must be an enigma of the aviation world. Obviously, they must be doing something right. From a small start-up L.C.C.,to the largest single carrier in Europe. Cheap fares, impeccable safety record, must outweigh bad customer service, and cramped planes for passengers to continue flying with them!!
The truth is that most of the hate comes from people that have either never flown with Ryanair or from people that don't read the airline's policies. You can't blame Ryanair as an airline because their customer service is good (not my words, look rankings up, Wizz is terrible, not Ryanair) and their safety record is unmatched. You may not like the seat or the pitch, but hey, you're paying less money for the flight so...
I flew on a Max 8-200 recently and it has impressive performance. I just wonder if the larger variant may have more constraints on where it can go? It will definitely do some heavy lifting on frequent flights between its busier hubs. They do have to phase out their older 737-800s too.
"... 30 extra seats that we have to fill six times a day, that's a lot of yield dilution. Therefore we need a much more competitive seat price if you want the extra 30 seats." Translation: We will nickel-and-dime you for other things even more.
I expect the 737-10 will be certified with its own modified 737 MAX cockpit design per FAA and EASA requirements. Once production starts, the plane could have 700+ orders, especially with both Delta and United needing to replace their aging 757-200 fleets.
DL and UA have both ordered the MAX 10. They also have both ordered the A321neo because the A321neo is a more suitable replacement for the 757, compared to the MAX 10.
@@heidirabenau511 I expect the 737-10 to high-demand domestic routes with less than transcontinental range. The A321neo will likely be assigned to transcon flights and shorter international flights.

I wonder will they fly any into my local airport (Kerry, KIR). That has a fairly short runway but it does take the MAX 8.
It's crazy that the MAX-10s Ryanair will retrofit will only have 228 seats, meanwhile Spirit with its 321s has had 228 seat layout for decades. The 321 really beats the MAX-9 and 10 for cabin space it seems
It is so sad that people already forget that two Max planes crash because of the BOING bad Mcast system and here they baying 300 new planes like nothing ever happened 😢
I think airlines should be required to have premium economy seating as a minimum - 600 mm wide seats (including armrests) with 900 mm seat pitch - 40% more area per seat. A 737-10 would have just 5 seats abreast - perhaps 160 passengers. Given the cost savings in recent years, and the cost savings from fewer passengers, the fares would only increase about 15%.
I imagine they were trying to get a good price out of Airbus but Airbus have a very substantial backlog of orders for the a320 family so wouldn't have dropped the price low enough for Ryanair
Airbus doesn't want to participate in Ryanair's price bargaining. Airbus is just the more expensive manufacturer, and they don't want or need to compete with Boeing on Ryanair orders.
Ryanair conception of low fare is too near of evil conditions. flew once but never again even more with a 737 Max at the limit! Good luck to there passengers.

There is a long back story to that. O'Leary negotiated in bad faith with Airbus years ago just to get the Boeing price down, and now Airbus is not interested in them. Airbus has plenty of other options than Ryan Air.
