Thanks for the video...decided to attempt the major service interval items myself during lockdown and it's your videos that have given me the confidence to give them a go. Much appreciated.
Great video, a big saving on a dealer service. I just had an oil and filter change done on my Speed Triple - along with an MOT and suspension set up. This was done by an independent bike mechanic and he charged me around £130.00. All in all pretty reasonable I thought.
Thank you for the by the book oil and filter change. Use a torque wrench and factory settings and there is less chance of cracking the aluminum case or having an oil leak right onto your rear tire. Owners of 2018 and newer Speed Triples should check for updated oil change procedures from Triumph, i don't remember the details but there is some issue where the oil doesn't flow properly on start-up if you filled the sump or filter first.
Yeah I heard something about the oil change on 2018 bike, can’t remember the revised procedure, but something about an air lock. Thanks for bringing it up, I’ll try and find out what it was, and pin it on the video.
Hi mate, I'm back on a 1050 - a 2018 RS this time! So back to your maintenance videos which are great! Did you remember what the difference was in filling procedure? I think it's something to do with stopping oil pump airlocks by filling the oil before attaching the new filter????
You're right. The key step is to fill the oil 3.2 ltr before putting the new oil filter on and making sure NOT to prime the new oil filter. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.@@notamotorbikemechanic
I'm currently doing a video on replacing the oil seals on my ZX10, but it's a bit more complicated on modern Ohlins forks. The actual fitting of the seals is much the same, but the disassembly is a bit more involved.
Not a Motorbike Mechanic Yes that is what I thought, I need to replace the bushes as play in the fork, the seals are actually OK, but obviously will have to be replaced. Can't find anything on the speed triple forks. Thanks and keep up with these great videos.
hello brother good morning. We had already spoken before, I'm from Brazil and I have a speed triple R just like yours, and it was because of your videos that I learned how to maintain my bike. I would like to suggest a video on how to change the silent exhaust glass Lan.
I'm talking about the pipe that exists inside the motorcycle's exhaust pipes, there is a type of glass pipe and sometimes they also add ceramic wool to muffle the sound of the exhaust, which sometimes needs to be changed.
Many thanks for the video. I've been doing motorcycle oil changes since the late 1970s. This makes me feel like I'm not the only person doing oil changes on my 2016 Speed Triple. Any thoughts you might want to pass along on resetting the service reminder (wrench symbol) on the dash would be great.
Hi just wanted to say thanks for the vids. I got my trip back in December 21 😁 loving it and you've given me inspiration to do the maintenance myself. Filter, oil, plugs, k&n, samco hoses and coolant all on the way soon (need to be ready for a spring and a tour of Wales with my bro) don't suppose you know how many coolant hoses there are? Seen listings for kits with both 5 or 6 hoses 🤔. Off to watch some more 😁
Please be aware that Speed Triples from 2018 and onwards, have a revised oil change procedure. This was changed after some bikes were developing air locks. Please research this information, here is a good start point www.thetriumphforum.com or of course your dealer. Thanks to subscriber THX2012 for reminding me of this issue.
Merhabalar ustam ben Türkiye'den ismim Kadir uzun süredir sizi takip ediyorum bende de speed triple var 2010 model size sormak istediğim yağ filtresini değiştiği zaman toplam ne kadar yağ alıyor ben 3.200 diye biliyorum acaba doğru mu kolay gelsin
thanks really useful as about to do my third oil change tomorrrow on my speed triple (2015). But I do mine without the paddock stand as the manual says keep back straight and level (so chock the bike stand to have it upright) - does that matter? As I'd rather use the paddock stand....plus 3.2 litres doesn't seem enough when checking the dipstick, in my experience.
The manual says “with the bike upright” (as in not on the side stand) The paddock stand makes almost no difference, it’s only a couple of degrees of lift. Try it, then check it in your normal way. Probably be no difference.
Another great video shows me what to do on my speed triple. Keep them coming.Done my greasing of back end last month with help from you 👍👍👍 What screen have you fitted and does it stop the wind blast. Cheers again Dave
I'm pleased to hear your backend is suitably greased up 😂 The screen it from Triumph, no it doesn't really make much difference, just bought it for cosmetic looks.
Strangely mine 2016 R is above MAX too, with just 3 liters... That's why I'm here right now. The manual says to take the level with the stick all in, wich is the opposite of all other bikes I've owned and know. Best to you all from Brazil.
Did you find your speed burnt oil? Iv just found mine burnt a litre in 2k miles. Forum searching has found some people report yes its normal, some people say they haven't used a drop 😭

I think its more about putting oil filter on after filling engine with oil.
But would have to double check

These are great guides, so much video detail. Any chance of doing a fork seal change, as not much on the Ohlins!

Hi, im unsure what glass Lan is?
Think we lost something in translation?

Ok ill try and do that 👍🏍

WHICH TIGHTENING TORQUE AI USED FOR THE OIL FILTER (Nm)?
thanks
Oil filter 10 Nm
Sump plug 25Nm
How many kilometers is the interval to make the oil change on this bike?
Every 10,000 km (6000 miles) 👍🏻
@@notamotorbikemechanic thank you sir !
I'm sorry English is not very well ((
Can you tell how much correct amount oil on a liter?? Thanks
Dry....3.5 litres
Oil filter change....3.2 litres
Oil change only...3.0 litres
Just did a service(dealership) to mine and its overfilled...Street Triple S 2020..its above the MAX line..is that normal ? :)
No the Max line is there for a reason.

I never top up my oil between service's
Brasil 🇧🇷
I can't get my filter off to save my life. They welded it on 😂
Hope you got it off by now😂
Did you use a cup filler wrench, or a rubber glove, gives more grip.
don't worry i spill oil everywhere too
You guys in the UK need bigger garages!
I concur 😂
