Without question the best song in the entire game.

People always ask for remakes and sequels but do we need them? I’m perfectly fine as I am we don’t need any more Metroid or shinobi or megaman or altered beast or dynamite headdy. These games are products or their time and would feel out of place in anything other than their original hardware.

Brazencoronet17 The 3ds Metroid(I’m referring to 2D metroid) have some pretty bad graphics which could have been more appealing if they stuck to pixels. A megaman 11......was actually pretty good.
Good news, considering we're getting SoR4 and a Panzer Dragoon remake, there's a chance Shinobi's coming back soon, too.

Why can't game developers realize that 2-D games are not yesteryear , they should still be relevant and still be made!
I have an explanation why 2D games are overshadowed these days. It's because of false advertisement in 90's that 3D games are the future and give more freedom

We tried nothing happened. Luckily in Streets of Rage 4 though there is an Easter egg where Shinobi's in graffiti on the background so maybe it's a hint that there will be another Shinobi game in the future.

This song uses the sn76489 square wave sound generator mixed with the ym2612 which is impressive

A shame but most companies dont have 2D Development Frameworks, 3D or 2.5D development is more common nowadays. Although the indie scene has kept some of this stuff alive.
Truefact: Masayuki Nagao composer Shinobi 3 and various artist called "Shinobi", Nagao also made Sonic 3 track called Hydrocity Lava Reef Chrome Gadget and Desert Palace which the bass saying that from him possible he also made Prototype of Carnival Night Zone track.
This is easily the best track on almost ANY Sega title

I mean i like it...but that's a bit much, lol. All of the SOR games, JSR and JSRF, the Virtua Fighter games, the Sonic games, Ristar, etc. There's a TON of games with excellent music from Sega.

The way this one hit was just different. Slogging through the sewers to fight a super mutant, and then making your escape from a literal shithole across the bay to Neo Zeed's territory on a fucking jet board. Every next step is more frightening, more taxing than the previous.
The Super Shinobi is a timeless work of art.
This shows the creativity of the people born before 2000 era starts. Marvellous as always. Long live Sega Long live shinobi❤️
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES. He was born in 1992 and played this classic the following year. So he totally understands.

To think this game came out on Sega Genesis, a console made in 1988 no less.
supercj12 This particular game ‘The Super Shinobi II’ or Shinobi III in North America came out in ‘93. You can see it on the screen. The franchise started earlier yes, but this game and this soundtrack was not possible in ‘88. The hardware was there, but developers had not unlocked its full potential yet. Much like early NES games vs end of life NES games.

It didn't take the Japanese devs much time to start pushing the Genesis audio hardware with games like Revenge of Shinobi, MUSHA, Batman, etc. The hardware was very similar to the arcade boards and the PC88 computers that they were used to.The biggest limitation back then was probably the ROM price, limiting most games to measly 4 Mbit.
Even though it doesn't work, I still have my Sega Genesis System with this game.
They also have this game on ''Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection Vol.1'' for Xbox 360 too.
@@whalahiguy you are quite wrong. in fact some of the best genesis sound tracks came early on, on the first year of the console. it was only when american devs after some quick buck got their paws on the console towards the end of the second year that we had a massive drop in average quality, only recovering years later

Vaporwave people couldn't do anything with this track for it was already perfection.

Ninja on a Jet surfboard... This concept arrived in the early 90's. It's 2020 still haven't seen a mechanic that rivals it.

Even Revenge of Shinobi was 1989, which was 32 years ago. The original arcade game Shinobi I think was 1986 or 1987? I think? That would be 35ish.

If they would make a Shinobi vs Ninja Gaiden crossover, this soundtrack would play during their battle, just to be epic!
This and Unbreakable Determination from Act 4-2 in the first Ninja Gaiden. I notice all great ninja games have one track that plays halfway through the game that pumps you up and keeps your adrenaline going.
And then have Joe Musashi and the Dragon Ninja riding high tech surfboards while killing evil monsters and high tech robots would be THE icing on the cake!!!!

This tune while playing the game is just awesome. Nintendo won the war but sega had some bad ass games and some of the best classic soundtracks like this and streets of rage to name a few. Brings me back.

I thought when I turned 18 this is what I would be doing. Flying 100 mph on a surfboard with seemingly no engine, landing on the heads of teachers that dared give me extra credit. Reality sucks when it hits!

Shinobi 1 was great with its music, but Shinobi 3 DESTROYS the first game's OST.
No music will never destroy Chinatown's theme for example.

Shinobi 1 music was made by non other than Yuzo Koshiro san. Only music that comes close to his is shinobi 3 music. Yuzo Koshiro is the best videogame music producer ever

I never owned Shinobi III myself but I borrowed it from a friend in my childhood. Oh boy I loved and played this game, and this tune were my favorite from it.
