btw, that first thing that scared you in the Mario's Dream fangame? I believe that was Mimi, from Super Paper Mario. Specifically her creepy spider-like transformation form. If people like 2D Mario, and want an officially made dark time, try Super Paper Mario. There are plenty of dark things in that game, to the point of the context of death. Mimi's transformation process is creepy too.
