- In this video I get a bunch of little things done and then test out the new grip teeth that I added onto the @Kubotatractorcorp U-35 excavator bucket and thumb. They made a huge difference when picking up logs for cutting!

Bar maintenance is huge! I religiously flip my bar, grease the tip and keep a large paper clip in my kit for cleaning out chain groove and bar oil holes. It’s amazing how much junk can pile up in there.
Yep, every time I sharpen I blow the whole saw off and take apart!
@@DudeRanchDIY I own a small compressor for doing trim around the house and need to invest in an air gun for it just for that reason. Blow out the air filter etc…
Those teeth are the perfect solution for you and a smaller excavator needing to grab big wood. Great job!
They work really well!
Thanks for the tip about the burr. My saw keeps cutting at an angle , and I kept thinking it was an uneven sharpening of the chain. I'll check the bar next time I cut.
Burrs are also more likely to form if you don’t regularly flip your bar for even wear!
Great idea with the teeth! Nice job
Thanks Doug!
Keep up with maintenance, time well spent. I always need to change oil in something.
Hi Jake. Great upgrade on the bucket and thumb. I want an excavator!!!
Things about the ac, if you have to add more freon, then there is a minor leak in the system somewhere. Those are extremely hard to find. Keep topping it off till it gets worse.
On the bar, it would be better to file the opposite direction so you are not pushing the metal back to where the chain rides. Will save wear on your chain.
Not trying to criticize, but want to share useful information to help you out. Love the channel. Keep up the great work!
Recharging only temporarily worked, yesterday I noticed the clutch on the compressor malfunctioning. Going to have to replace.
It’s pretty hard to file against the grain of the burr. Since the bar is laying flat, the shavings fall down and off the bar not back into the groove. My bars last my many years this way, never had an issue!
Nice to see that you get treated well through Easton made I have the exact same machine as you do. I do not get the same quality of customer service. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a RUclips channel. I’ve called on several different things in the past over the last two years. Can’t even get them to call me back.
Filing down the bar is Jake's "tip of the day." In each video, you should try to incorporate a tip of the day based on your experience.
I could try to do that!
Great stuff!
I'm glad you got the AC going great on the excavator, now you know how to recharge. Just remember too much refrigerant is just as bad as too little and the system won't put out any cold air like you want. Teeth are working awesome, and don't lift any rounds, your back is too valuable to mess it up like mine is.
hi there those schrader valves leek all the time . more on the hi side because the heat there , when it is of and cool ,try taking the valve caps off and fill them both with soapy water ,wipe your finger across the top till clear , then watch for very small bubbles .if you have time . changed 3 so far this week leaking
Yep,…you can easily do that with spit on your fingertip. 😅
Good idea! I actually found that the clutch on the compressor is malfunctioning, looks like I’ll have to replace the compressor.
Good video 👍 Those teeth were a great upgrade 😊 Can't wait to see you back up and splitting
Curl the bucket all the way up & u won't have the problem will hold onto the log much better.try it.
Great video showing how tge upgrade of the teeth and the saw blade maintenance. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Hey Jake, the first thing I noticed is that the belt on your AC compressor was bouncing a lot which is indicative of the belt needing to be tightened that might help your issue as well. It may be spinning on the pulley due to it being on the loose side. Can’t hurt to snug it up.
Cheers Woody !!!
I’ll look into that! Yesterday I noticed the clutch seemed to be malfunctioning a bit could be due to belt tension!
Hello Jake, nice work 🪵👍🏼
I like it. The chainsaw buggie!
Well Jake,Sarah has a lot of splitting to do when you get the log lift on the wood splitter 😮😊❤
She sure does!
I'm bet you that's what's wrong with my bar...a burr..., thanks for the tip Jake!
I think this is the first time I ever paid attention to the name of the marker you use, gonna make my life so much easier when I get one, you're a life saver 😂
Haha the mingo marker works great!
To help save your hydraulics you should stage a round standing up to rest the heavy logs on while still holding onto them with the bucket instead of having them suspended in the air while cutting them into rounds. Just a suggestion.
Just advise from real world experience when you are cutting on that side of the log . Between the log and excavator if she slips that log can get you before Quick !
🎉
Where has Chris been. Haven't seen him in awhile
Not sure! Would love some help!
Take off the teeth on the thumb, and put big pieces of metal the same as whats on the bucket all the way down the thumbs
Dude, get as much oil as ya can from Walmart, save $$
what is that black lunchbox on top of your stihl?
Maxflow air filter
