They’re not moving to “The Bronx” Bronx.

Kingsbridge is THE Bronx BRONX.. A few blocks in any direction you get those hood elements. Now Woodlawn, Riverdale & Fieldston that's high end Bronx.
The goal is to move out the Bronx. Why move in? 😂😂
Facts I grew up there I know what I'm talking about you're correct build yourself up so you can move on up to the east side that's just a metaphor I moved to the Hudson valley past Westchester county I couldn't have been more happier my kids have a better place to grow up I don't have to worry about the same crap yeah we have our nonsense up here car theft break-ins and the only animals really are the wild animals like bears never knew that living in the Bronx but New York has way more animals than people lol
If it gets gentrified, you would benefit from it because the area will feel safer and more stores will open. Currently, people don't wanna open stores there because they know there's no return on investment. Plus, the area is unsafe. That borough is on the news every single night about some tragedy that happened. I heard only Riverdale is nice and nothing else.
There are MANY MANY recently built large buildings in the Bronx ...since 2015...A LOT !!! Go along the #2& #5 line ..from 149 in up on both sides of the track ...
@@metamorphiccrystals8161 yeah ...but gentrification also means the displacement of many who ALREADY live there ...they come i and have no respect for what is already there .....ask the folk in Harlem and Brooklyn....
@@clarkclarke I knowwww. They are trying so hard to make it upscale. A lot of those buildings are housing lotteries where they participate in the ELLA (extremely low and low affordability) program along with the 42a-1 tax abatement program. It's great they are trying to clean the area up.
I wouldn't move to the Bronx even if given a free rent apartment. Just cause the neighborhoods are developing beautiful new buildings still you have the same ignorant acting folks outside in the streets. I'm so done with the illiteracy from my own kind🤦
Don't worry when neighborhoods are set for Gentrification...Section 8, Jiggets and other housing aid recipients are moved along with SROs and halfway homes. Those returning from their bid up top have no place to go as family/friends are relocated along with any assistance programs. No more Million Dollar Blocks of folks who routinely go back and forth from incarceration.

I live in the Bronx. My rent went from 750 in 2004 to 1400 in 2021. Don't believe the hype. What your seeing is buildings that are a couple months away or in the process of raising rents.
Bronx need more money in.
Bronx criminal: New Victims!!
Not. For long. Gentrification brings. More. Cops. .....white ones
This was inevitable for years and only a matter of time as Manhattan and Brooklyn neighborhoods within a reasonable commute time to Midtown became unaffordable for anyone except the wealthy. Inwood in Manhattan (which has been slowly gentrifying for years already) Kingsbridge, Riverdale and Phelam Parkway are areas of the Bronx for young families looking for quasi-suburban areas of the city and larger apartments.
Watch them running back to Manhattan soon, 😂😸 when they realize safety is important than space.

Of course they will (seriously).

Things will change. Street signs that never existed will now be everywhere. Parks will be redesigned. Lanes will be made narrower in order to slow traffic down. More lighting will be installed. Home will be fixed up. You'll see
Yes please don’t move to the Bronx because we want our cost of living to remain cheap.
On a different note Kentucky mitch McConnell territory has three of the poorest counties in the country
Does not surprise me. Saw this coming as soon as i saw the subway station at 167th street totally overhauled to look all modern with electronic video billboards and fancy art tiles on the walls making it look even better then the downtown subways which lead straight into art museums. Then there are the new ten story or higher buildings which started being built all over the Bedford and Mosholu Parkway area which is going to make the Bronx look more like Manhattan. Times are a changing once more as am reminded of Chambers Street and the now long gone J&R Music and Computer World stores which were just a block away from City Hall.
It's called "gentrification" my friend

I grew up in NYC. Been here over 20 years. Sick and tired of all the crime, petty laws, restrictions and atmosphere. I’m moving my family to Buffalo. They have some great areas 1/2 the price of some starter homes in Long Island. Way to many rules and regulations to live a comfortable life as a middle income family.
Yeah and long island…Nassau county has high property taxes cuz it’s close to NYC. Check out Suffolk county. It’s cheaper.
Finally time to clean up the Bronx. Gentrification is good for business and home owners. Less crimes all around.
I would NEVER move there. Nobody ever has anything nice to say about that borough. The people that live there don't even wanna be there. The cheap rent in exchange for safety and ones life. Uhmmm?? Lemme think.

Because they are chasing minorites out of Manhattan, queens and Brooklyn with high rent and the rent is low in the Bronx because of all the crime.the low income housing is not for minorities, they are for white people (mainly) to live in temporarily while all the houses in these minority areas are bought out, then they will move in and take over the area, you will have a menial job and they will be your bosses managers and supervisors rent will be raised and you'll have to move out eventually.gentrification is a trojan horse.white people are not doing this,it's our government but you can be down with the gentrified community if you want to become a "yes man".evil has no race so don't think that just because you're white doesn't mean that you can't be a minority and don't think that just because you are black or Hispanic that you are automatically a minority because if you were not raised in the poor communities then you don't understand the struggle (that's not your fault)but some people who were raised in the rural areas still turn their backs on these communities and help usher in changes that will not benefit the natives....soyboys triggered!
