Are you kidding me? Wow!!! Close your eyes and listen. One would think a couple seasoned veterans performed this piece at a venerable jazz club, not two kids aged 13 and 11. I'm awestruck. Hope to see many more collaborations between these two artists.

Vibrant exciting performance! This gave the Hammer a chance to stretch out and run with it. To paraphrase Uptown Funk she showed up and showed out. Wicked good!!
Great Live Performance!!! Knowing the original required Yoyoka to play 2 instruments, in addition to other musicians, it was amazing for Ai to cover everything but the drums, via piano. These 2, Ellen and possible others could form a super band.
I like where you’re going with this idea. This could be the female Rush.
@@tapsX3 There are several routes Yoyo could go, solo, part of a good group, or session player/drummer for hire. I think Phil Collins is the closest to a solo act for a drummer I can think of, but there are numerous examples of talented drummers in great bands.I think she will do well whichever way she goes.
@davewave2760 I think she will do everything you just described. Honestly when the dust clears it will be eye-opening the breadth of her collaborations and the high level of talent her musical partners exhibit.
@@chrisegbertky I'm worried for her and her family, not because of ability, but because the corrupt nature of those who pull the strings, which also extends to the music industry. If it were only a matter of talent, she would have been at the top long ago, but instead she and her family are surviving because of the generosity of yourself and others like you. AMAZING! The live performance proves Yoyoka is the best drummer right now. This is the new generations Neil Pert or Stewart Copland and any of the other greats. The better the talent Yoyoka plays with, the more she excells. Sparkling is her call out to the next gen in music greatness and Ai answered the call. The people in that room that witnessed this are so lucky. The world needs more.

Great job, girls! A nice little treat on Ringo Starr's 83rd birthday. Of all the great playing that Yoyoka has shown us over the years, I often find myself going back to that clip when she was a four year old with the family and their tiny little drummer playing The Beatles' 'Come Together.' Happy Ringo's birthday, everyone!!

I was thinking whilst watching this how interesting it would be for Yoyoka to try a more jazzy version, given she has been dabbling in some jazz of late. I think it would work well with the piano.

If you'll pardon a criticism, with nothing but respect, the first half was hypnotizing but then John Bonham's ghost walked into the kit and I couldn't hear Ai anymore for the rest of the song. All in all it was a 5 star jam session and I crave a better mix.

This is so cool. It reminds me a little of the Hiromi Uhara trio with Simon Phillips. The way your drumming sounds over the piano has a similar vibe.
I think they need to go out and find an all-night recording studio with some proper recording equipment, a better kit for Yoyoka with a couple more toms and another crash, and call Madoooon for some bass backup.
