Not having a lot of money. And been playing on a mo8 as an professional musician for more then a decade. I think this will be a great upgrade. Bought one on ebay for a steal. And as its light weight this powerfull beast will be not only relaxing to gig with bit a real upgrade for me! Great video
@banham123 that is a performance preset called 'kogarashi' on the mox consisting of 2 pads layered on the left, a flute on the right and a synth pad arp.
Hi - its tough to compare the MOX to the MM6.... The MM6 was released 4-5 years ago so has an older generation sound board, although still based on Motif sounds (just not XS). The key action on the MOX is of a higher class and also has a full featured 16 track sequencer, VCM virtual effects, Vocoder, just under 8000 arpegiator types not to mention the built in audio interface and control keyboard functions. The MM6 fits its price point nicely and is a good intro into portable synths
Hi well I know have enough dosh to buy the mox6 but my mates thrown a spanner in the works and reckons the korg m50 is better ? I've watched demos of it but I'm sticking to the yamaha. What do you recon ??? Carl.
@00DirectorsCut00 Hi - Master mode is where you can have programs, sequences, performances... anything you like really all set up and in order (you can scroll through them one by one as you go through your set or directly access the first 16 using the buttons accross the bottom right. There would be a cut off as the board initialises the new sound and FX etc, though very little. If you want them to contunue without interuption, set each sound up as a different track in the sequencer. done!
I understood everything. But if I connect to the MOX6 a MIDI controller like the Akai APC40 or the MPD16 or the MPD26 and so on ... should I get the sounds I'm looking for? If yes, will it worth? Thanks :) Btw the problem with the MIDI is that they have to be used with a mac and you cannot connect any headphones. I want the synth so I can play everywhere also without a computer and with headphones and you get also better keyboard quality aswell :)
Sorry for not being specific, but i was talking the one that the sound was coming from. I would like to purchase this keyboard however i wanna have good speakers when i do get it, would you recommend any in particular, i'd only be using them for in-house stuff for practice and home base studio basically. Thanks in advance
@absolutemusicuk Hey, I cant think of anything else apart from faulty headphone socket or headphones. There have been no other reported issues with the headphone socket and there is no master pan setting to my knowledge. I would reccomend a factory reset just incase, then explore either of the above problems with the dealer
Looks like a really nice keyboard for gigging with... was all set to buy one (from you) then I saw that it doesn't have aftertouch... seems to be a trend by manufacturers in this category to leave aftertouch off which is a shame because its so important to me when I am gigging. My old Korg N5 had it, so I'm not sure why its overlooked now.
But if I connect a proper MIDI Controller by AKAI to the MOX6 in the "MIDI" port? I think I should get what I want. I was about to buy the AKAI MPK61 as a MIDI controller + keyboard but they say that the keyboard sucks and the fact is that a MIDI controller only produces codes and send them. No internal sound so you must use a computer and you cannot use any headphones to it. Can u suggest a solution to buy MOX6 and still able to make some dubstep? Thx :) Does it work with the apogee duet 2? :)
can you save user bank to have some programs (sound combination) side by side to change it in a live situation just by push 1 button ? (in a live situation no time to browse category) . And by the way when you change from a program to another the keyboard continue to play (like e.g. korg kronos) or the sound will stop x a bit? thank you
Hello, what speakers would have the best sound quality with a keyboard workstation ....I am looking for a great sounding set of speakers under $250 US for my keyboard ..... any suggestions would be very helpful ....
Hey - its just one patch 'Classica AF1 & 2', no song, just jamming :) The string bend and harmonic parts of the sound are turned on and off using the Assignable Function buttons 1 & 2 :)
@absolutemusicuk Hi I love your videos.I just bought the mox6 I have been trying to find out 1 thing when I hook up my headphones straight to the keyboard I only get music coming out of one side of the headphones how can I fix it to play out of both sides of the headphones?please HELP thanks if advance
The sound on this is phenomenol...I'm new to this, what kind of speakers or monitors are you using in this demonstration because I can't believe that kind of sound is coming through your computer alone. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hi ! I have Yamaha MOX8 recently. I had Yamaha P80. I feel some differences between the piano sample "Full Concert Grand" on MOX8 and piano timbre on old P80. I think that piano timbre on MOX series (XS serie [produced by 2007]) should be better of piano timbre on P80 (produced in 2001). I feel it in medium and treble frequencies, such as a metallic buzz probably to emulation of the hammer action. So it is better the sound of the p80 or MOX8 ?
get an m50 and mox6, both have their own set of sounds which are great, and having both of these will give us the best of both korg and yamaha for all your musical taste, instead of spending more on the motif xf or even the korg m3 :):) and of course you'l need a pc and some software and plugins too and you are good to go for music production:)
Can you store multiple patches containing sounds in layers and or splits (also with layers on the split sounds) plus a drum sound, style and tempo. Then any of these can be easily selected as you work through a set list of songs???
Many thanks for nice explanation. However, I just wonder after creating a new performance where I shoul save it whitout destroying (replace) other already performances. It seems that all user banks 1 2 & 3 are used. Do I have "free" memory to save new information?. Please help me
If I want to use two additional midi keyboards how I can redirect the midi infarmation to assign to each keybord different/voices or performances, in addition to the third voice of the mox?. Please I need your help
I HAVE A SET OF DEURA 10" POWERED SPEAKERS FOR MY MOX6, THEY SOUND PRETTY GOOD. BUT IF YOU LIKE A LOT OF BASS YOU MAY NEED LARGER SPEAKERS. I STUFFED ,MINE WITH MATTING AND THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB
Thanks for your time! Anyways yeah I'd like to do Skrillex style of "commercial" dubstep using also the MOX6 maybe connecting to it a MIDI controller, if it's possible to do. Thanks :)
Hi @absolutemusicuk if it was the adapter it wouldn't have anything to do with the audio in the phones ...I'm going to buy another set of earphones..but i don't think it's the head phones because when it plug the headphones into anything else both sides play.s(scratching my head).
@stevebHD It's the same steve. I plugged it in the headphone jack but it's still playing mono.I really don't know what to do,my headphones are good and working.SMH
no no no I'm still getting it in mono this is killing me!! I just have my headphones plunged in to the mox 6 where it says phones and it's just plays mono what am doing wrong ?
Well am just doing this music thing currently for my self not really for anyone, music gives me a peace of mind so i do it for me currently, i just need something that sounds good and probably about $400 us would do good budget wise.
Thanks again for advice I play all types of music I'm writing for a female singer at mo at blue print studios Manchester just wanted a new keyboard for new sounds it's a strange kind of pop music lol, I'm more into rock , but love all kinds of music. I'm leaning to the mox6 I think the sounds are slightly more realistic. And I'll order a pedal too cheeeeeeeers carl
Definately mox!!! m50 sounds thin relatively. Except crushing guitar solo sound is not very well. m50 or Roland fantom is better at that. Ow yes and drums of the mox (xs) are a bit clean. m50 sounds deeper especially for RnB drums. Rhodes is comparable. Piano is better on MOX. Orchestral sounds better. Organs are better. Brass a littlebit better but I prefer Roland at that. Pads are way better. Flute etc are top. OW jah... m50 has more and better accordeon sounds. If you look for that ;-)

Love the mox6 gonna save and get one after watching this thanks for the demo
@banham123 that is a performance preset called 'kogarashi' on the mox consisting of 2 pads layered on the left, a flute on the right and a synth pad arp.
Thanks for all your knowledge and patience :) I'll decide what to buy: the MOX6 or at least one of those MIDI you suggested :D
Brilliant review!..Btw does the MOX allows you to plug in any mp3(ipod etc.) player to play/jam alongside my favourite songs/tunes?
Hello again great demo , what type of pedal are you using and how much are they approx cause I would like to get one cheers carl

there will be alot of sample creation with this bad boy..woooo
How could you be disappointed with this synth! :-)

Excellent video review! Thanks a lot!
Hi, just a standard Yamaha fc3 sustain pedal, nice feel and doesn't slip around on the floor too much! Check them out on absolute musics website.

Re after touch, I agree it is a great feature, it's just purely down to cost saving. The Motif range has after touch :)

@cvau32 double check that you have not put the headphones in the mono 'l' socket on the back first as it is just next to the phones....
@absolutemusicuk nope it's still playing mono and it's plugged in the headphone jack is there in sequencer as far as the out put to the phones?

@kizz06 Hi - It has multiple DAW compatability selectable from the synth - Cubase, Logic, Sonar and Digital Performer.

i see, granted. honestly i like it more for live things anyway... You had trouble configuring cubase with it?? what kinds of trouble?
Which Keyboard is better the mo6 or the Keyboard in this video?

Can you compare with Yamaha MOX vs Roland Juno Gi and Korg M50?
Hi. It is called classical af1 (roughly...)
Thanks for your time! Anyways yeah I'd like to do Skrillex style of "commercial" dubstep using also the MOX6 maybe connecting to it a MIDI controller, if it's possible to do. Thanks :)
Excellent vid. Well done, mate!

Hei; thanks for the replay. Indeed, I have been in touch with people of yamaha and I am experimenting their proposal.
Hi - no sampling, thats one of tha main differences between this and its big brother, the Motif XF, which has up to 2gig on board
Does it integrate with logic pro?
hey could you compare the mox6 to the mm6?
Well am just doing this music thing currently for my self not really for anyone, music gives me a peace of mind so i do it for me currently, i just need something that sounds good and probably about $400 us would do good budget wise.
How do you have he Keyboard connected to the Mac? Is there software? Could the sequencer be intergrated with Logic Pro?
Thanks again for advice I play all types of music I'm writing for a female singer at mo at blue print studios Manchester just wanted a new keyboard for new sounds it's a strange kind of pop music lol, I'm more into rock , but love all kinds of music. Damn, why don't they make a 76 key MOX6? 61 keys is too short, but 88 keys is sometimes too big when your're doing a gig.
@gospelplayer007 glossy only for the Yamahas
nice demo but no need to press that hard the setup keys...
Had the MM6 and just order the MOX 6.
hi thanks stevebHD , but I don't found it on youtube...
@stevebHD thank you very much
Hi, from 03:01 to 03:20 between the name of sound...
@musicthinker It's basically the same board lol.
ok sir, most definitely did lol thanks much !
Haa Amazing !! can i have 1 of those monitors ^^
Don't forget to follow mox on Facebook!!! Just search 'yamaha mox' :)
If those are the only sounds it makes, i will ignore this one.... probably go to roland
Arturia Factory VSTi on the Mac!!! LoL
i wouldnt say the money was a waste....... waste is such a harsh word bro.

OW jah... m50 has more and better accordeon sounds. If you look for that ;-)
Rather Motif xs engine...
Forgive the mistakes..... The end of a very long day!!!!!! :)

dont waste your money and buy this. save your money and buy a real thing (motif)
