Thanks Hoovie, I love videos with attainable special cars like the dsyenbe snd 911 and discuss potfalls and cost. I watch all your work, but these are the most valuable, I just bought a 2010 cayenne for $4000 did my homework and got a ppi and having fun and headaches making it the way i want! really look forward to this and other stories! These type of rescue missions are the most informative and are the best. As my finances improve , i hope to upgrade to another super cheap "deal"!

The body panels are worth few thousand alone. 4 good doors. Windows and regulators and switches. Rear tailgate. Dash. Glove. Hood. 2 bumpers. Wheels. I bet this car can easily part out for close to 5k. But that wouldn't get Hoovie any content. So he drops in a free engine and gets 500k views instead. Lol
My only concern would be lack of maint. Engine wasn't taken care of, or the owner didn't pay attention to the known issues, making me wonder what else could be wrong. It is a cheap luxury car after-all. One with issues at that. Meaning they could've left allot broken or not known. I would expect more issues personally. Even regular things from lack of maint rack up, brakes, calipers, tires, electronics, lines, etc. Interior looks like it wasn't taken care of the best either. Also still 180K miles on the tranny and who knows if it even functions properly. Usually these in a similar model year go for roughly 5K-6K in clean condition w/ 100K miles. Considering its condition and possible issues, id say that 3K all in is pretty fair, if not a decent deal. Could probably have the seats fixed for a couple hundred and maybe make a small profit on it or break even. Overall not a bad deal. Allot of guessing for a small profit (or to save a small amount of money). Doesn't make sense for a regular person, but for Hoovie its fantastic.
He could but that's how you end with a parted out junk car in your driveway/garage. I doubt he'd go for that, plus it won't make for an interesting video.

I thought the exact same thing. I have a 4rrunner that I've had since it was brand new, and it has nearly the same mileage. Still looks pretty new and has never had a real repair outside of standard maintenance.
@@KingKohlrabi I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. My 4runner probably cost half as much new and is paid for now. And it wouldn't surprise me if I get another 100k mile out of it. Why should a car's quality be worse if it cost so much more?
The doors of my Toyota Sienna nearly fell off - the metal hinge of the front door tore out of the frame and the left slider became inoperable. My Toyota wasn’t any better than any other car.
wykydytron idk, both models are Notorious for having complicated issues. Wether u get an old Tuareg or a Cayenne. Now that i mention it, i don't really see very many old models, and i live in california 🤔🤔
Inside the key is an immobilizer chip. The battery in the remote powers the immobilizer chip, unlike some other cars which are passively powered. If the keyfob battery totally dies, the Cayenne will not start!! It may crank though.. and your key is trashed! Did you not look at the multi-function display? If the key is broken like that I don't believe that the car will ever start until you repair it or replace it. Maybe it's getting the reading it needs just by being near that area... but I doubt it. The engine sounded fine at first so I am confused about why it locked up... Word of advice though, Tyler, don't tell someone who you are going to be paying for services your budget up front, lest they try to find reasons to meet that budget...

Yes you're right but on the other hand why should they build to last like a Mercedes w124 so someone can drive it the next 20 years somewhere in Africa without breaking, while the customers that count, the people that are willing to pay for a brand new car from the dealer have already bought 5 or 6 new ones in that time. Yes you're right but on the other hand why should they build to last like a Mercedes w124 so someone can drive it the next 20 years somewhere in Africa without breaking, while the customers that count, the people that are willing to pay for a brand new car from the dealer have already bought 5 or 6 new ones in that time. They're kind of giving the market what it demands. People want the newest shit nowadays. It's kind of with the market for food. Everyone cries for organic sustainable food but when there's a $2/pound meat and the same for $12/pound most people buy the cheapest one... so that's what they're producing cheap shitty meat...
