Beautiful work. I like how Lena has not just appropriated the images, but used the methods to create images steeped in her own traditions and imagination. Just some information on Miniature paintings, Sadly everyone thinks India is the birthplace of miniature paintings. It is not. Miniature paintings originated in Persia, the tradition brought to the Subcontinent of India with the Moghuls. Miniature painting is a tradition in Pakistan as well. In this day and age we hope that people take the time to learn about the historical roots and not corrupt the facts. We have enough trouble in the world with people operating under false knowledge, which then leads to exalting one people over another.
