Saw this on Photrio a few months ago but was certainly worth another look. Well covered in terms of comparisons and filters. Tell the viewer everything he/sh needs to knowh
Thanks for the review...!!! What color filter would work best for Ferrania Orto, and blue skies in bright summer days...? I shot my first roll, and blue sky is so close to totally burn out...!!! Thanks again...
I used 32 for P30 in the Thornton 2-Bath developer. Orto probably should be about the same, if you want good shadow separation (in the same developer, of course). I heard that the more recent versions of P30 is closer to ISO 100, so when I get more P30, I will have to see if this is true.
Thank you, I will try ISO 30 or just below 50, will tell you how it worked. I haven’t been happy with ISO 80 results. Pictures were way too dark. Thank you again. :)
Two baths are compensating developers because they utilise the exhaustion of the developing agent and stop processing the highlights when they are complete, and keep working in the shadows, giving fuller development. The metaborate is mixed separately to extend the developers shelf life.
Great comparaison. That contrast thing is a matter of taste I guess
Orto80 vs P30 should be interesting
Ferrania should shout more about those smart metal cartridges. They look great.
I agree! Being reusable is a definite benefit!

Green filters work well to slightly darken blue sky. The best would be a yellow filter.
@@analogueandy8x10 Thanks for that... will check it...!!! 👌👌
es un revelador casi identico a Kodak D-23 y su reforzador ese es de Barry Thornton no lo he probado, buen video.
sí, es muy similar al D23. Thornton proporciona un grano de película más nítido (google translate)
very informative and visually understandable thanks
The Ferrania looks good but I think it's a little too contrasty for me but maybe under the right conditions it would be good.
I was surprised at how contrasty it was compared to Ilford Ortho.
Ferrania P 30 - what iso you think we would set? And the same with Ferrania Ortho? Thank you. :)

Do you know why Thorton Dev. is a two bath? Or why is Sodium Metaborate solution done separately/ I'm learning from your "experiments," thanks.
