As usual, Mr. Johnson is appreciative of all of the musicians around him. Another group that is not trying to out-do each other. Just play and enjoy everybody's abilities. RIP Mr. Johnson.
Johnnie Johnson was working as bus driver when Keith Richards (musical director) invited him to play in this movie (Hail Hail Rock'n'Roll) .. It is a mean old world, but JJ got recognized after all ... God bless him
Of all of the achievements to Keith Richards' name, you can tell that bringing Johnny Johnson and Chuck back together is one of his proudest. He talks about it often and gladly. What a man
Damn that was some nice organ work. All round class. Perfect. I rate this as some of the best work any of them have done. Just a perfect time when just the right musicians got together and played. Spot on
I tried to write a letter to John Johnson more than 60 years ago. I was so taken with "Wee Wee Hours." I never heard back, but fans weren't acknowledged then like they are know.
one of my favorite songs by Chuck is "How you've changed" from his very 1st album with Johnnie Johnson playing. Chuck had an amazing voice for singing blues even though his career was as Big Chief Rocker! Google it - chills..
One of my cousin from Maili was married to a Rock Singing group in New York. It was not a good life. She returned home n eventually married a normal guy. He wasn’t rich, but made her happy.
If there is a comment on Chuck Leveall here I haven't read it. A f***ing amazing Hammond organ solo that even JJ was impressed by. He wanted him to take another solo but Chuck started singing.
1986 I was on a contract job with MacDonnell Douglas & went out for a drink w/a partner & to see her friend who was singing w/a band & we all had a drink - she was Ingrid Berry - Chuck’s daughter!!
Really, just good old 'gutbucket blues' as Johnnie called it when he did that homespuntapes DVD. He was such a cool natural guy with awesome keyboard talent. Take a look at Down The Road A Piece by Amos Milburn (heyday, 1949) & you'll see how Johnnie was influenced, then, took it to another level to forge his own style that eventually became rock 'n' roll piano, but had blues, jazz, & boogie influences - in a meld to support Chuck Berry's style of playing; which was an update of earlier blues.
We should also remember the great Bass Player Joey Spampinato with his Dano Longhorn
As usual, Mr. Johnson is appreciative of all of the musicians around him.

RIP Mr. Johnson.
Johnnie Johnson was working as bus driver when Keith Richards (musical director) invited him to play in this movie (Hail Hail Rock'n'Roll) .. It is a mean old world, but JJ got recognized after all ... God bless him
... and it was the start of his second career.
You can see the hardship in his eyes. What a legend
Of all of the achievements to Keith Richards' name, you can tell that bringing Johnny Johnson and Chuck back together is one of his proudest. He talks about it often and gladly. What a man
Can't believe I gave Eric Clapton a like. For Chuck and Johnnie Johnson.
Chuck Leavell is not only a great pianist but the lucky one who plays whith two of the greatest frontmen : Chuck and Mick!!!
now Chuck and Johnnie are together again...RIP both of you pioneers
Johnnie Johnson... A real master on the piano. Great jam, Simply the best if the best... Oh my my!
Johnnie Johnson is a 1st rate star in his own right.
Guy gets a freaking oscillating sound by moving the mic up and down, wow. No fancy effects, just pure bad assery. RIP Chuck.
Johnny Johnson what a pianoplayer and togethet whit Chuck Berry is magic !
I salute Keith Richards for getting this thing together! It was not easy. And Johnnie Johson is great! Keith asked him to play on his solo record.
Damn that was some nice organ work. All round class. Perfect. I rate this as some of the best work any of them have done. Just a perfect time when just the right musicians got together and played. Spot on
That was great, so good to see Chuck Berry jamming with these guys.
Johnny Johnson's been a blues and rock and roll hero of mine for a whole bunch of years. I learned a lot from listening to him.
the way the guy playing organs smiles at johnnie shows how much respect he has for him, and hes an amazing player himself.
Chuck Leavel Stones pianist, they are lucky to have him.
@@Methilde ALLMAN BROTHERS KEYBOARD BEFORE STONES JESSICA IS A CLASSIC
Chuck Leavell facial expression is worth gold as Johnnie Johnson launches into his hot introduction.
Great group --- all stars --- Chuck Berry really sings the blues!! This is truly a masterpiece
I searched every Chinese website and there was none. Now I see here again. Tearsful, man, sister, tearsful. I need dip my soul into.
Ryan Liu A man that is searching is never lost. From your words, I do not need to meet you to know you, brother.
🥂!cheers mate!
Incredible JOEY Spampinato on bass!
I tried to write a letter to John Johnson more than 60 years ago. I was so taken with "Wee Wee Hours." I never heard back, but fans weren't acknowledged then like they are know.
What Eric said at the end was very profound
Lol yea so profound the video must not have been able to handle it since it cut off as soon as he barely starts to talk
Haha
He said "I think I had never seen black man untill Chuck Berry."
Wish I knew what he said.
He said "I felt like proper shyte for the first couple bars there mate, til me Peruvian flake kicked in"
Ol chuck berry was a boss !!🥃😎
I love it when Johnnie and Chuck Leavell crosses smiles
awsome.....great Clapton...the guy is possessed by the devil......all those guys are pure talent....what a Jam Session.....I wish I was there, damn!
All talents come from God himself and not from the devil.
The likes of which we will never see again
Gariajsrg you have the devil in you like Clapton
Bravo Chuck great blues song. Miss you. From Canada

Yes, he is not only a great guitarist but an amazing natural singer.
I’ll have to listen, always liked Almost Grown too with those bluesy undertones. 👍🏼
I wish there were more videos of Chuck Berry just messing around with other musicians.
Chuck is my hero
Johnnie Johnson rest in peace Master. Thanks for all!
I said this before ----- can it get any better than this !!
70s zz top
***** lol
Clapton on a Strat with rosewood board - pretty rare sight.
and keith on a strat
@@gugasque2306 yeah but that's Keith's Mary Kay strat that he played in the 80's all the time.
@@AuntAlnico4 cool! i didn’t know that guitar was a mary kaye strat
Clapton is in his SRV influenced phase here, hence the rosewood strat. And the Mary kaye was gifted to keith from Ronnie
@@spearfishingmandile Never my friend, Clapton has never ever been nor
gone into SRV mode/influence. Never.
Love the looks Chuck Leavell giving Johnnie.
Just pure talent
As much as I love jagger and the stones chuck berry is the king of rock.
One hell of a lineup here!
Johnny Johnson! This is the blues.
Just in a different league to anything.
This is freedom born from pain.
talk about an all star-cast!
One of my cousin from Maili was married to a Rock Singing group in New York. It was not a good life. She returned home n eventually married a normal guy. He wasn’t rich, but made her happy.
Man, there's some musical skill on show here! 🎸✌️
Johnnie Johnson would've made a hell of a bandleader.
He was, actually. Berry joined his band, the Sir John Trio, before he became the leader himself.
im not sure who can tickle the ivory better jj or pinetop????? chuck aint too damn shabby on that hammond either. he learned a lot from jj
he was the dam bandleader and that is a sad fact of the matter...
This is a awsome song
If there is a comment on Chuck Leveall here I haven't read it. A f***ing amazing Hammond organ solo that even JJ was impressed by. He wanted him to take another solo but Chuck started singing.
Thank god for all these amazing musicians
This is heavy! First time witnessing this, so badass....
Outstanding.
There is nothing better for sure
Perfect video quality!
Best of Rock & Roll! Talent to the gills!
Margaret Martinez Douglas
Man, that's awesome.
I always love that Eric gets pissed off for missing his lick at 1:27.
Putain là c’est la classe !! Je réécoute depuis des années et m’en lasse jamais.
Johnnie le retour …. Merci keith !!
This shit makes me weep with joy. The Blues does that.
read Keith Richards autobiography on shelves today - it's like the history of rock n roll for good stories about these cats...
1986 I was on a contract job with MacDonnell Douglas & went out for a drink w/a partner & to see her friend who was singing w/a band & we all had a drink - she was Ingrid Berry - Chuck’s daughter!!
The piano makes chuck sound so much better
Great to see johnnie Johnson
Meu rei 👑 do rock 'n roll !!!
What's crazy is that not long before this, JJ was driving a city bus to make ends meet..
Thanks
I think Johnnie Johnson was showing who really lead the band...RIP
@M TBrian Johnson’s Chuck Berry story always makes me laugh: ruclips.net/video/yaRptOgNg8Y/видео.html
Keith was brought in as musical director, so the first thing he did was to draft in Johnny Johnson.
Wonderful music...
Yeah, nice one. Thanks for sharing this clip, sounds great and it looks like they had a lotta fun.
Fantastic
Bom demais... Grande Eric.
Grande eric
Top class instrumentation, jeeeeeeez!

Chuck Berry is a lyrical genius though I'll give him that
Brilliant ❤
The R&B prominence
CHACK BERRY WAR EINER ÐÈR BESTEN 😊
Best Clapton question “ why do you light up a cigarette before you solo only to have it burn the guitar?” Nice clip!
EC had JJ on the Blues nights 24 nights album and Chuck Levell on unplugged following this session .
Joey Spampinato as well (bass player here)
ON HIGH!... ON HIGH YALLL! hahaah that part is so great
Crème de la crème!
Eric and Johnson !
Amazing....👍👍👍👍❤
First time I’ve heard jazzy from Chuck 😅
HERRLICH! RIP CHUCK

in 1986 I'm sure they never wouldve guessed that's half of the 2024 Rolling Stones up there.
