Learning English and btw you have a perfect soft northern irish accent, you are doing great...x
Hei, Opiskelen Suomea videoistasi johtuen. Joten kiitos! (I hope that's right.) Keep your chin up, even if you decide Australia is not the place for you, at least you have been able to see such a fantastic country that many people can only dream of. I hope everything gets better. Moi moi!
Yes that's right. And thanks 🤗
Don't worry. It is super normal to feel lonely when you are alone in a new country and this has nothing to do with being independent or not. My personal experience is that you need people. For me this more important than any other "variable".
I don't know how long you want to stay there but if you just want to stay a limited time or really fast some connections to other people, you could connect with backpackers. Hostels are basically like barracks for homesick people. A lot of them are only 18 and quite annoying but some are also really nice.
Nevertheless, the distance is real and made me also return to Europe and not staying in Australia. Kaikkea hyvää!
Yup and it's been such a good learning experience emphasising my values. Will not stay here forever but won't give up just yet.
Hi hopefully you are ok I have been following your videos for a while now hope you are ok take care..
Ohi ohi Emma... I stopped the video once you started crying because I felt I had to write something like IMMEDIATLY for you! I kind of understand how you feel but I have never been abroad so far for so long as you did, so I might not be the best guy around to cheer you up. I begun traveling alone some years ago, but being on holyday for a week or so is totally different (even if wonderful at the same time and really increases your consciusness and raises you to an upper level of life). What you feel now could be a momentary weakness and I could easily say "Yeah don't worry you'll get through this in a couple of days", but that's not the answer. The only thing I can suggest you is to be happy. Do whatever gives you happiness. Finland gave me happiness, being alone for me was a bless. If your happiness is Australia, stay there. If your happiness is Ireland, get back. If your happiness is Finland, go home.
And remember, people likes smiling people : )
Believe me, you'll never be alone, a lot of people loves you here ; )
Warm hugs from Italy
Thanks! Yes I'm sure it will get better, just tough moments when I miss everyone.
I think you need help? I hope you find it.
You've come to Australia at one of the worst possible times. With all the fires, heat etc
I wish to move to Europe haha
What would you wish to do for work?
Wow, what you experience is exactly the place where I find myself at the moment. Moved to Singapore from Europe and haven’t been able to get a job yet...so yeah, you start to question what you’re doing here on the other side of the world away from all your friends and family. Hope everything worked out for you in the end. Curious to hear more about your journey!
My partner wants to move to another country. This is exactly I am afraid of - missing family and friends and even countryside... :( I send you warm hug!
It may be easier to do it together with your partner, although of course you need to have your own support network outside the relationship. I'm sure it will all go well if you decide to do it, hugs 🤗
I respect your honesty and emotional truth. I'm an American with Finnish and Irish descent. Hang in there
❤️
Maybe you can go back to your home for a couple of months, then return to Australia 🤔
The grass is never greener the other side.
Usually.
Hope you get a job soon Ive been hoping to move to the USA for some years from the UK I have lost most of my family so don't have much to miss and I know a few people in the USA already. I still hope to get my home finished in The Bahamas as well but I can't work there but know some people on the island where I go to. Thank you for the video.
Moved from the UK to the USA four years ago and I still haven’t fully adapted.. Miss the UK sooo much
Sorry for your sadness.
An expression here in the USA is “This too, shall pass”
When you’re in a better frame of mind you might want to check our the film “Hotel Coogardie”. It’s a documentary about two Finnish women who end up in the Australian outback trying to earn money. It’s on Amazon Prime
Good luck
Thank you for saying that out loud. You're very brave and I just hope everything will be better for you soon.
Sending warmth and support!
Thank you 🤗
I hope you get to feeling better. Can we send you mail? Stay positive!
The struggle, sadness and distress in your eyes and body language from the start of the video is palpable, even though you tried to force the smile and joy in your expression, it was clear you were about to get into something deep and personal that wasn't positive. You also have this abandoned, sad puppy dog look in the video, but it's really genuine and I felt really bad for you.
I'm surprised you feel this way after moving to Australia after you said you had lived in Ireland for several years, it seemed like you probably knew what you were getting into since you've lived abroad before and had experience with what comes with it...the loneliness, isolation, distance from family and friends, it can get really hard but I guess the distance is just so much greater or something else is different about this move.
You're brave for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this and being vulnerable. I'm sorry you're feeling like this and I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks! Yes it's different this time, probably because I'm older and further away from the familiar 😅
Thanks for sharing this with us. I hope you can still enjoy your time there, even if it’s shorter than you planned! And if you have a dog, you’re never alone 🤗
Thanks! Yes the dog is helping a lot. She follows me everywhere and wants to be cuddled.
Wow, I'm depressed now.
Olet pakenee pimeä ilma varmaan sinä olet iloinen siellä paremmin kuin suomi 🤫😘 minä tiedän moikka
Can you do the barista thing? My Local cafe had (for example) German and Estonian baristas. a new accent every week. Sydney must be different. Try Melbourne, more diverse ethnically. Or Perth, we have quokkas :0)
Haha that's the reason why I would love to visit Perth and Rottnest Island, quokkas 😍 I'm in Melbourne atm, so hopefully find a job soon.
@@finntasticbeast If you make it before April. Let me know. I can't guarantee a job but I can guarantee a coffee .... love to try some pronunciation before I fly to Helsinki :)
Finnish moving to Australia? Like moving to another planet! This is the kind of talk you have with someone you just met in a bar... Come to Texas 🙂, if you feel homesick we have a 9 hour flight Houston-London (Texan dreaming with moving to Lapland). 🙂
Awe! I complete understand how you felt, I am living in ireland but it's not being easy for me... I hope that everything works well for you.
Take care :)
Curiosity 'like' is your speech safe word never noticed till this video ... Nothing wrong with that. It used to be mine in Portuguese 'Tipo'., I had none I added it to my speech and removed it consciously for reasons ...
Pidä hauskaa siellä Australiassa! :-)
Do not worry, it is actually quite helpful that you are letting those thoughts out and admit them. I am sure, that in time you will find a way and understand how to reduce negative outcomes and completely get rid of them, in this situation.
Thanks, all will be good again!
@@finntasticbeast Definitely 😉
Live and learn ... at least you experienced the change and now you know.
Come back to Dublin!
Dear please visit the Pakistan
Hi Emma,
With Trump working hard to destroy our planet, tax cuts for the rich, and bankrupting the USA, I wish I could move to Ireland, UK, or Finland. Been there twice, loved it.
Best wishes.
Finland is probably the best option, though you may need to learn the language for getting a job 😅
tsemppiä!
Hii really like you please reply me
Mitä kuuluu?
As you already know from studying psychology humans are social creatures it is totally normal to be in your situation where you feel this type of isolation
Definitely travel to the iconic places of Australia and then move back to somewhere cold
I understand Finland is very cold if you don’t like extreme cold may I suggest somewhere where are the temperatures are more similar to what you’re looking for
You were just going to be fine if you ever want to talk I can always lend you my ears
Talk to anyone you can it’s way better than keep your feelings bottled up inside
Hyvää huomenta kaunis Suomalainen nainen :)! Mitä kuuluu? I hope i don't disturb you with saying u're gorgeous =). I made a cover about Jean Sibelius on my channel, may you watch it and leave me a comment please?
Totally unnecessary, just let it be.
No one will visit your channel anyway
@@felixflugel2157 What? WHo are u ?
@@Rockyourassed You just replied to my message, so you supposedly saw my name
@@felixflugel2157 And why no one will visit my channel while people do watch my songs? WHo are u to tell people what they should do???
You're beautiful... find some hot Australian chicks and go lesbian. Sadness gone, boom.
Stop projecting. You know you wanna go lesbian in Australia. Make it happen!
