- Join us for a tour of Yates Precision Manufacturing, a job shop located in Pennsylvania that specializes in the production of precision CNC machined safety razors.
Yates Precision Manufacturing prides itself on making quality, aesthetically pleasing shaving equipment using only the best materials available, and top of the line machine tools.
The job shop was founded in 2017 by Jake Yates, a Mechanical Engineer who has worked both in the Aerospace and Medical industries. His passion for design, engineering, and manufacturing led him to start the business journey with his wife, Ashley, whose main focus is taking care of the business side of the shop.
Besides manufacturing precision machined safety razors, Yates Precision Manufacturing also operates as a contract manufacturer working with the full spectrum of materials, from standard metals like aluminum and mild-carbon steel, to aerospace and medical grade metals like Inconel and Titanium.

Very nice shop! REALY CLEAN! Got my first taste of NC (paper tape!) in the 1950's at Otis Engineering in Dallas.

@@YatesPrecisionManufacturing Thank you very much. I appreciate that more than you will ever believe. I had a fire 14 years ago and leveled my shop. Had to start over. Have spent that time getting back on my feet rebuilding and kitting out again. Started making again and it feels really good. Steel & wood don't play well together. Lesson learned the hard way. Wow! Excellent choices of machines. QT for a lathe and a VFSS for milling. I couldn't agree more. If I'd put up my own shop, that'll be my first machines as well. Wish you the best of luck for your company.

You have a good shop . Please only as a suggestion put guards on those v belts on the manual lathe. From experience it only takes a moment when your a little tired or busy to put your hand somewhere it shouldn't go .

Good vid. Can you make a single component on a cnc machine? Is it worth it or do you have to use a center lathe or mill?
You can make single components. It's just more efficient to run multiples if you have the demand for them. Thanks!
