I've been watching this video off and on for years. It's great to see them in their youth, and this is such a great arrangement of a cover. Peter Banks was pretty damn good, in retrospect. RIP, Mr, Banks and Mr. Squire. And now Mr. White.
I suppose you could call it a cover, but it's still a song Chris Squire had a hand in writing, and one I'm guessing Jon Anderson sang in the brief time he was with Mabel Greer's Toyshop.
Love Peter Banks' psychedelic guitar sounds
Love the first two albums by Yes. So much more dynamic and full of life.
Bruford wearing a NO t-shirt. 😄
Such a negativity. Why did he played with them at all 😁
@@langobard5546 It's not negativity, it's his acerbic sense of humour
@@Skraboing649 Seems like you missed there sense of humor
Wow!! This is awesome seeing Yes in their early days way before songs like "Roundabout", "Close To The Edge", "Heart of The Sunrise" and "Yours Is No Disgrace" became longer epic masterpieces and the stages got bigger with the Roger Dean backdrops. What a great performance of "Beyond and Before".
Bill qui porte un t-shirt "NO", très marrant lol
Love wakeman and howe, but totally love this lineup, i first meet this lineup
What a rare and excellent track!
A precious recording. and they sound bloody good too.
The audience really wasn't feeling it, were they. I would have gone ballistic/spastic. This back then was some seriously groundbreaking material !!
Like at a symphony concert
Perhaps that’s how they look when they’re enjoying music
Love Bruford's tee shirt!
This song kicks the album off so well
The quality of this great. Needs to be on DVD!
Also appears on the Peter Banks double-album CD archives released in 1998; album was called "Beyond and Before" in the USA, but "Something's Coming" in the UK? Peter Banks does a "Frere Jacques"-style solo ("Somine la tina", etc.) before the closing chorus on this version of the song.
Amazing footage. Jon Anderson hiding behind a tambourine, Harmonies , very good, and even then the musicianship displayed by the entire band was a cut above, and very melodic.
FAN-TAS-TIC!! Another early YES jewel! Thanks for posting this awesome clip😎!
Can’t figure why they didn’t invite Peter Banks on the Union tour. He really was a unique talent. RIP
He was supposed to appear at one of the shows (I think in the UK), and was actually backstage before the gig started.
The band allegedly left him there, never asking him to join them onstage.
This was from a history of Yes video which purchased some years ago.
That must've been horrible for him
Primeiro álbum do Yes em 1969, forte influência dos Beatles, som magnífico !
Can you imagine being in that audience? That is probably one of my favorite Yes songs. I can't believe I saw them play this(even if it is on video)
Man! Thanks for sharing this! There are so few videos of YES when they were young!
Excelente registro...gracias
I love Steve Howe but Peter Banks got screwed......😢
Phenomenal!!!
Excellent. But a shame we can barely hear the Hammond organ.
Interesting that not one of these guys is in the band known as Yes today.
Mega merci!!!!!! quel moment magnifique!!!!
I donna understand why had Tony Kaye been fired by Chris Squire meanwhile he is one of the greatest Keyboardists ever?
RIP Chris Squire
Yes were and are the greatest!!
Yes had such energy in their earliest days!
THANKFUL for these early recordings! So great to see them in their youth.
EXCELLENT!!!!!
Was that Steve Howe looking through the door looking to take Peter Banks' spot in the band?! ;)
Speaking of Howe though, did they ever perform Beyond and Before since he joined? I could imagine him coming up with some amazing parts throughout this song. Pity they never did continue performing this song live later into their career... :(
Excellent video. Haven't seen any footage of the original lineup before so many thanks... :)
It certainly could be!
They did Astral Traveller with Howe. I have a bootleg from a concert in Sweden. He tore it up.
looks like him @ 4:14 !
Certainly I think was Steve Howe looking behind the curtains🤔, waiting for his chance😬
@@markkeen341 Yep! Amazing!
Almost there🤗
That is one crazy audience!!
Tambourines were big back then.
very lucky audience
The audio is the same as on the Something's Coming cd. So it must have come from this TV show. Good to know that.
Bill !!! Love your Tee
Sunhillow...ooohhhh
Wow this is so rare .never seen before
I sure do miss Chris, a great Yessenger.
Hear Peter Bank's influence all over this. Sounds more like Flash than Yes.
muy bueno Ina, can I meet you someday soon so we can discuss Yes over a beer.
Steve Howe..fab player but let's b honest...rather watch Banks.
awesome incredible wonderful YES how can these people just sit there like statues... what a sour-ass crowd... I din't see 1 person even tapping their foot... pretty nice applause after but still..jeez!
@0:21 I got instant neck pain from seeing what I just saw!
What did you see
Is that Steve Howe's Telecaster lol.
