  • Cheetah with warthog kill, elephants crossing river, Grévy’s zebras in action and mating Somali ostriches were only some of the highlights of our safari in Samburu National Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Lion, cheetah, bat-eared fox and black-backed jackal were the main predators we encountered in the parks. Impala, Beisa oryx, Grant’s gazelle, the amazing gerenuk giraffe gazelle and the tiny dik-dik are the antelopes of the savanna. We found all special northern five species in Samburu and Buffalo Springs: reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Grévy’s zebra, gerenuk and Somali ostrich. Also birding was excellent and the variety of dry savanna bird species was stunning.
    Welcome to our birding and wildlife safari to Samburu National Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Reserve in Kenya in December 2020. We stayed four nights at the wonderful Elephant Bedroom Camp. We would like to thank our travel agency DreamtimeTravel and the local tour operator Kenya Experience for this unforgettable Safari.
    For animal identification, please refer to the video subtitle or to the species list below.
    With best regards,
    Sandra and Markus

    Wieder wunderschönes Video! Samburu mit den Netzgiraffen, den langhalsigen Gerenuks und den eher klein gewachsenen Elefanten ist sehr speziell. Wir waren ein einziges Mal in Samburu und haben es sehr genossen. Unglaublich, was Kenia (inklusive südliches Afrika) betreffend Natur, Tierwelt und Unterkünften zu bieten hat. Einfach nur wunderschön!

    Great video! Question: was there any difference between Buffalo and Samburu? In terms of wildlife?
    I'm going there next February, but now the parks charge seperate entrance fees, so we have to decide between the 2.

    • @SandraMarkusTrachsel
      @SandraMarkusTrachsel  3 дня назад

      Thank you very much for your kind comment, appreciate it very much! So glad you enjoy watching our videos. As the two parks are next to each other and the animals can roam around freely there is not much of a difference between the two. As you saw in the video the elephants were just crossing the river mutliple times, the zebras were on the Samburu side, so was the cheetah and the lions at the time of our visit, the big group of oryx was on the Buffalo springs side, the gerenuk on both sides and so on. So as always with wildlife, nothing is guaranteed. Our accomodation was on the Samburu side we spent most of the time there and we just made a day trip over to Buffalo springs. Hopefully you will have spectacular sightings regardless of your choice. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus

    Da hört man ja überhaupt keine Tiere. Warum nicht Markus? ? ? :-) Nee, im Ernst. Super schöne Aufnahmen, gut geschnitten und dazu noch der Aufwand mit Untertitel etc. Absolute Empfehlung!! Und das mit den Tiergeräuschen musste ich ja schreiben nach deiner "Vorlage" am Telefon ;-)

    • @SandraMarkusTrachsel

      Ja, das mit den Originalgeräuschen ist so eine Sache. Da hört man wirklich nicht viel, nur Wind und Motor. P.s: what do you think about The olympus 150-400 f4.5?

    • @SandraMarkusTrachsel
      @SandraMarkusTrachsel  3 года назад

      Dear Lorenzo, thank you very much for your kind comment, appreciate it very much! So glad you like the video. Yes, the 150-400 f4.5! Definitely would love to have it, but on the other hand, it is extremely expensive and the size is huge (compare to the other lenses). Just imagine what else you can buy for the $7500. I am currently more likely to buy the 100-400 f5-6.3, but nothing is decided yet. I am a bit worried if you can actually still order the 150-400 or if they are already sold out? Spending $7500 without being able to see and hold the lens at any dealership is also a bit a concerne. So as you see, I am completely undecided about it. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus

    Für vier Übernachtungen ist das eine sehr große, traumhafte Ausbeute.
    Habe das Video ohne Ton angesehen. Ich mag Musikbegleitung bei Naturaufnahmen und wohl auch sonstigen dokumentarischen Filmen generell nicht. Durch die recht kurzen Sequenzen wäre der originale Ton wohl sehr unruhig und oft wäre wohl nur das Motorgeräusch des Safariwagens zu hören, aber es wäre mir dennoch lieber.

    • @SandraMarkusTrachsel
      @SandraMarkusTrachsel  2 года назад

      Vielen Dank für Deinen tollen Kommentar, das freut mich sehr, dass Dir das Video gefallen hat. Und vielen Dank dafür, dass Du das Problem mit dem Originalton korrekt beschrieben hast. Viele Leute haben eine völlig falsche Vorstellung davon, wie Safari klingt. Die Tiere machen keine Geräusche, die Vögel singen nicht, sogar die Elefanten gehen völlig lautlos an dir vorbei. Und in der Regel sind es ja Tele-Aufnahmen, wo die Tiere sehr weit weg sind. Ja, es ist nur Wind und Motor und belangloses Gerede. Das mag für einen 1-2 Minuten Safariclip noch gehen, aber 25 Minuten lang Staubsaugergeräusche und Motorenlärm wollen wir auch nicht zeigen. Daher hast Du alles richtig gemacht, den Ton ausgestellt oder etwas nebenbei gehört, was Dir gefällt. Ganz viele Grüsse, Markus
