AND I UNDERSTAND that the JSU BANDS Footage is pretty clearer than Ocean of Soul Media, but if you still hear my criticisms and takeaways and think they're valid then I think it should be negligible
Let’s cut the BS TXSU stood on business.JSU has always been who they were and I never denied that. But give TXSU their flowers because they stood there ground this year and also last year. They didn’t make any excuses for it.Great battle for both bands.
Appreciate that gang! Try to give insightful and transparent critiques and judgements. Hope you tap into the stream today where I go more in depth into some other battles
I don't want them to do anything they haven't already shown me they're capable of, both these bands have set the standard of playing diverse, enjoyable, and highly executed music, 5-6 new songs every week. That is not unique to Jackson nor TXSU
First, appreciate you for checking out the video gang! When it comes to 3's, only difference between a 2.5 and a 3 is ig me being too caught up with the song to hear mistakes (if I'm missing any) or if it just resonates with me personally at the highest level. idk about a 2 tho, I think it was technical and challenging enough with some good harmony and pretty clear melody, worth a 2.5 at least imo. But I wholeheartedly agree with DT, they played alright here but still the weak link, partially their fault, partially the horns
FACTS!!! but not even necessarily Zero Quarter vibes just...that flat ass loudness just kinda playing shii that isn't really that pleasing fr idk, that song and I think the 2th round really put me in a time machine lmao
This is *my* takeaway and general observation of The Boom this season so far: The closer they get to the Tournament of Roses appearance, the more unprepared they show up to these games. And I get it because that’s their biggest exposure event of the season, but they should still be doing what’s needed to be prepared for games and all battles. I’m getting a lackadaisical, bare minimum vibe from them every battle this season so far. From Dr. Little on down to Dawg Team. And speaking of Dawg Team… are their sectionals being monitored? There’s some foundational musical education that needs to be done at least. And at best, they need new horns. Why do they sound so muffled this year? Almost as if they’re playing with mutes in. I’m shocked that they’re struggling with clarity this season and it hasn’t been fixed.
It's their horns. Idk who is fixing their horns but those joints are muffled and you can almost say that they're clogged up. If anything, they need to have them flushed out. This is coming from a DT alum.
@@bibbiana4Lyfe I’m assuming you’re talking about round 2. I don’t think Holding Out for a Hero was executed the best specifically with a lot of Mello countermelodies or motifs, and I think the arrangement was great but didn’t capture the same tone as the song specifically bc idk if Trumpets could nail that motif if it was written more cheerful. TXSU, that song was just a simple crank song, Baseline was eh, Mellos could hold out till late in measures, Trumpets had difficulty pushing melody. Idk a 2 seems reasonable for both
I don't care what anyone said, Txsu got them boys.. I knew this was coming because Jstate fan boys was talking a lot of noise. Even going in live battles trying to bring up Jstate. And now, some of them are still delusional while others are coping and making excuses. As expected.
Yeah man I hate the dickeating (excuse the french) but that stuff aggravating man, let's just enjoy these bands and pick the best of the day, not the one you just happen to have gone to. Regardless though, I'm just happy the battle lived up to any and all expectations
@@BandHeadBoom If you want a more prepared answer from me specifically aside from the video. I think TXSU's note accuracy and styling on their best songs was comparable if not exceeded Jackson's especially in terms of capturing the essence of the song (you could argue that "I need a Hero" wasn't as bright which comes down to preference). Their songs were more enjoyable and had more distinct energy, while also being less repetitive than JSUs (in the rounds they "won)

Silk didn’t do it for me. The way i thought JSU would. But be real without there trumpet section they would be and average.the direction that they was going was for there strong strength of support which is there trumpets.TXSU blew those trumpets with half of the numbers JSU had and they held their own.
IDK gang, JSU overall sound is still really great without Trumpets being ridiculous, and tbh even TXSU trumpets didn't "outplay them", I just think the overall product matched itself up to be better, but they def held their own in there forsure
Full sweep is impossible I think wit that Beyonce round but yeah...I think no matter what this is a tie, but more often than not TSU's songs just resonated and were executed better which is rare to say vs JSU
@@BandHeadBoomThey use to recording battles and don’t focus on their band only. They typically give a fair recording with camera and mikes dead center. The other good videographers were not there. TXSo’s team is probably geared to their band specifically, nothing wrong with that. Just not good battle quality footage.
