He used tactics of Helicopter punch with no telegraph in advance from above and wrap Manny all over made him ordinary not a legendary like he was before.
this guy is just great. The best footwork and timing i have ever seen unbelievable defense and counter ability, rigo is the best pure boxer in the game
Rigondeaux may just be one of the most technically excellent boxers I have ever had the privilege of watching. His balance, punch technique and jab are perfect. So sad that he will never get the recognition he deserves.
Rigondeaux's weaknes is that sometimes he gets overconfident with his defense, he gets intoxicated with it and then he gets caught, also he can be dropped easily (got dropped 4 times in 15 fights), so if he decides to move up in weight and he makes any mistake it could be good night for him. But of course he's a legendary fighter with unique talent!
+Ahmed Ismail In the Cordoba fight, that wasn't even a real knockdown. He jumped into a jab and was knocked off balance causing his glove to touch the canvas. He wasn't hurt or anything. He took a few flush shots from Donaire, and only went down once. He wasn't hurt bad. Against Amagasa, there was only one real knockdown there. He was tackled the second time. All those things happened against bigger opponents, Donaire and Amagasa outweighed him by 15+ pounds in the ring allegedly. He takes a good enough punch for what he does.
It's cause he's behind them standing square, and they whip around and punch him. I've only ever even seen him rattled once. We also should add he's been fighting champions, it's not like he's fighting d class fighters.
Just amazing to watch this Master of boxing. His masterly fights are too heavy for most people to understand and appreciated that's why some say he is boring. Rigo is the wonder of the boxing realm.
Mayweather picked his opponents he knew he would win. When he fought Oscar, Oscar was at then en of his career with5 or 6 losses.. But that not the point, the pound for pound undefeated champ was Tito Trinidad. Floyd never said nothing about him he just said am moving up to fight Oscar.. Then retires and comes back after Tito and Oscar leave..m Rigo is a real talent but their are better than him. He just happen to be one of the few to make it out of Cuba
Of course he wants none of Tito he had such a great jab and left hook and constant pressure every round floyd knew Oscar was bigger pay less risk plus floyd started at 122 u really think he can fight guys who are naturally 175 and not retire or take a break? Why u think his hands aren't any good anymore ? Why u think he defends more than attacks? Why u think only in Nevada can u use a banned substance that's illegal everywhere else? Why u think floyd only fights in Nevada?
dru713281 Because he's on top of his business. Why else? Tell me what boxer is in a better position? None.Thanks. Quit hatin anybody can write a hateful summery on another
His movements spook the shit out of me. Its as if he sees punches coming at him in slow motion or something, and dodges them effortlessly. Fucking X gene shit right there.
MC donald The patronising tone was unneeded to be honest. Also Rigondeaux isnt exactly your average when it comes to his ability to read his opponent and avoid getting hit.
El Chacal is something special. Him and Floyd are my favs but they have different styles. Rigo moves so fluidly and smooth. Punching on the move, using angles. Brilliant
Well that´s pure BOXING ! the greatest boxer that i have ever seen.. period. that what he did to Donaire was amazing... made on of top 10 pound for pound boxers look like an amateur... i´m .... i... i cant even put it to words... JUST AMAZING. sad that people don´t understand what a God given talent this kid is to boxing... people just wanna see KO´s and people get hurt...
I literally didn’t look at anything but his feet for the first 6 minutes, it’s so beautiful!! The balance, the way he pivots, the small steps back , the way he gets out of range but yet his feet stay the perfect distance apart 😲! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Rigo is my favorite boxer right now. IMO he is the best p4p boxer today. His footwork is amazing, he is always in the right position. And on top of all that he has exceptional hand speed. also IMO if paquiao was still a bantamweight Rigo would edge pacquiao out in decision and im a huge paquiao fan. Rigo vs Vasyl please make it happen!!
Pac is heavier than this guy and stronger. Pac would own him simply due to weight difference, Rig is 122 pacman fights in 147 or higher with tremendous speed as well.
yeon723 ""He's the best counterpuncher I've ever seen," Roach said of Rigondeaux, speaking by phone from his gym in Los Angeles. "When I did the pads with him, I simply could not get through his defense. I tried. I couldn't, though. "On his first day in the gym, he wanted to spar with Manny Pacquiao," Roach laughed. "I didn't allow it. I don't want Manny getting that kind of work in sparring. Manny is a bit big for him, but he's an offensive guy and with countering like that, he was more work than I needed. "He's one of the greatest talents I've ever seen," Roach said of Rigo. Then the trainer pauses, considering his words. "Probably the greatest talent.""
@peroxsigh I feel Roach was respecting Rig with that comment. Do you honestly feel in a full of fight that pacquiao wouldn't win? let's be honest here.
I think he has much better foot work than Pac and Rig would counter him all night long.Pac is prone to jump in with his punches and Rig would capitalise on that real quick, Would make a great fight though, cheers...
Rigondeaux's body movement looks so natural, but I guess the movement has been built up by a mix of long-term training from childhood and his natural-born physical gift.
Thanks him for the footage first. People always wana talk shit while watching someone else footage. Appreciate it because it's here and STFU. You cian fly to where he is training and post your own first.
Rigondeaux has supernatural boxing ability. I don't really think he will be putting weight on, since he has been boxing at that weight for so long. Remember even though he is fairly new to the sport of pro boxing, the man has 400+ amateur fights, not to mention 2 Olympic Gold medals. I am excited to see where his future is headed, because it's always a pleasure to see a true master of sport.
1 thing i like about Rigo that is never mentioned is how he doesn't move his legs unless he has to and there for conserves so much energy. Watch how he will move his legs slowly rather then feeling like he needs to hurry and move when he knows his opponent is in position, but to us it looks like he is in position to punch.
they are different fighters with different style of fighting.. doesnt make sense to compare. rigo is a more traditional technical boxer, hands up leads with the jab. mayweather is like a jack of all trades and master of all trades as well. he can beat you with any style. he can move if he wants or stand in the pocket or he can walk you down.. thats why he is the most complete boxer to ever do it in my opinion..
These guys since they were very young they started boxing, they trained with minimum 3 very strong guys of the same weight plus the others, they did conditioned sparring without power and basics everyday. The CUban champions sparred between them and with many champions from other countries that came there to train. Centro de alto rendimiento was an amazing school 8 years ago. Fencing is a compliment, they developed a great strategy. It s not a brawl, it s noble art
i love how rigondeaux has a style that you just cant possibly train for. There is no possible way you can get a sparring partner to match what Rigo would bring to the table. Thats the kind of style that i aspire to have.
Look at Rigo absolute beast! Footwork, upper body movement, precise punching. How in the fook Loma completely outclassed him just baffles me, goes to show how good Loma is. Love both guys tho!
why we don't see much of Rigondeaux....especially on HBO...I hope its not because he beat Donaire..if so..then that lets you know..HBO BOXING..got its favorites and can care less about the talent in boxing..this man Rigondeaux has over 1/4 million views..just for people tuning in to watch him spar.
His trainer is Olympic gold medalist Pedro Diaz, who trains his guys as if they were about to compete for the National Team in Cuba, so I'm fairly sure that sparring partner is a fine boxer in his own right. But Rigondeaux is the kind of guy who makes the best in the world look very, very average.
also, this guy is not even keeping Guillermo's defense and footwork very honest.... this guy isn't using his jab, he isn't stepping over when Guillermo is moving, doesn't move to Guillermo's right, and he isn't applying any real pressure on Guillermo... it is like Guillermo is just in there to play around, why is Freddie roach allowing this...?
there's a sparing video between Pacquiao and Jose Benavides, Pacquiao was overwhelmed with his punches, benavides was 17 at that time, now hes 20, Guillermo would be his chupacabra, im sure guillermo would give pacquiao a pillow and a blanket just like Marquez did :)
Thats like me saying, if you have a debate with the politician you don't like or compete in a rap battle with the rappers you don't like, what will happen? Think before you let it flow, don't be a person that follows what everyone else is doing.
Can u see what's wrong with the second fighter? He can't move to his left. The reason he gets knocked down is bc he outside pivots as a sthpw against a south paw, which amplifies rigondeaux small right hook.
Well yes he did got hit a lot as his career progressed. He is known for being a tough guy, being able to take a lot punishment, especially the the Frazier fights. You cannot say he didn't got hit a lot, you just can't
nice i think this guy deserve bigger pay days man i wish he was in 147 just to see who he will destroy there imagine him against mayweather that will be a technical war
Ali pre the 3 year layoff was untouchable, Yes he got hit, but that was once every blue moon. Watch him in his prime , 66' 67', he only got hit 4 times in his best boxing match vs big cat williams. He even said himself "Every time i got hit, it shook my whole body, so i know i had to put this man out "
Rigo is good. He has great fundamentals but he fought no names yet except Donaire who is no longer on his prime that time. There will always be young and hungry out there. Sad to say, this guys in on the sunset of his prime.
The one thing I hate about boxing clubs is the amount of Nut-Riders that seem to hang around them i.e. the guys that seem to turn up and just watch you out of the corner of their eyes -forever envious - but never actually pulling on the gloves for training
Yup cause he doesn't rely's on a very tight defense to then measure distance, timing etc.... He does it with basic fundamentals keep ur hands up and the lead hand u can use it for measure just like ur front foot are use for. So yup I will say el chakal is a better ROUNDED ALL AROUND BOXER
Simply beautiful to watch. Such perfect balance, timing, control of range. Total mastery this guy.
Too boring, this guy is a dancer with no guts.
joe slowwalker ..it's a shame that you know nothing about boxing..
He used tactics of Helicopter punch with no telegraph in advance from above and wrap Manny all over made him ordinary not a legendary like he was before.
joe slowwalker he is right you don't know boxing
Micah Yongo
this guy is just great.
Now this is sparring. They're not trying to knock each others heads off but just working on their moves in action.
queensgambit well u can’t always spar like that there should be a variety of different kind of sparring u do
GDM Charlotte agreed.
Picky and so strictly
GDM Charlotte Yes sir
Yup
Footwork is the key.
Fighting this guy would just leave you feeling depressed and that everything you learned up till now has'nt meant shit lol
That is never the case, if u lose u learn from what happened to become better and better
@@sambeaumont8821 exactly. Good experience
He's such a master boxer, look at the footwork, the way he controls the action, slipping and sliding
Ahmed Ismail he's like Goku
Crazy to think he's going bout 60% going easy on the guy. This guy is a master of angles.
Just amazing to watch this Master of boxing. His masterly fights are too heavy for most people to understand and appreciated that's why some say he is boring. Rigo is the wonder of the boxing realm.
Agreed
Perfect solid balance. His feet and hips are NEVER out of position. What a base.
It's kinda funny to me how the best boxers in the world are Mayweather, Ward and Rigondeaux and they're called "runners".
Kay D Lomachenko and GGG aren't runners
Mayweather picked his opponents he knew he would win. When he fought Oscar, Oscar was at then en of his career with5 or 6 losses.. But that not the point, the pound for pound undefeated champ was Tito Trinidad. Floyd never said nothing about him he just said am moving up to fight Oscar.. Then retires and comes back after Tito and Oscar leave..m
Rigo is a real talent but their are better than him. He just happen to be one of the few to make it out of Cuba
califilipino There all people who punch stop crying out loud .
Of course he wants none of Tito he had such a great jab and left hook and constant pressure every round floyd knew Oscar was bigger pay less risk plus floyd started at 122 u really think he can fight guys who are naturally 175 and not retire or take a break? wow its called reflexes and instinct kid. you must be new at boxing
MC donald
No shit, I'm just commenting. But yeah, I haven't been watching for that long.
The sad part is... The average fans are finding him boring.... While the average fans favorite boxers won't to be him...
MC donald The patronising tone was unneeded to be honest. Also Rigondeaux isnt exactly your average when it comes to his ability to read his opponent and avoid getting hit.
He literally does not get hit.
it's like watching picasso painting
C'est magnifique a regardé, boxeur sous-coté, sous-estimé. Il n'y a que ceux qui ont fait de la boxe qui peuvent apprécier.
El Chacal is something special. Him and Floyd are my favs but they have different styles. Rigo moves so fluidly and smooth. Punching on the move, using angles. Brilliant
Lomachenko deserves all the credit in the world for having made this boxing master quit. Simply phenomenal achievement. It says a lot about Loma.
Damn Rigo is doing it so smoothly like a never in hurry boss.
The world has a job to do, on our days off we don’t want to see a boring waste of time. We want to enjoy ourselves with action.
He's 34 yrs old but he moves like a 15yr old kid, Perfect footwork and balance
Relaxed and and enjoying his work, making the sport look fun
Damn rigo has some good ass balance man
A freind is part of the team Rigondeaux... he gave me the cds so everybody can see how hard the champ work.
Rigo is my favorite boxer right now. IMO he is the best p4p boxer today. His footwork is amazing, he is always in the right position. Rigondeaux know how to run and hit at the same time, that is beautiful, and not to be hit that is even more beautiful..
this is a prime example on how to fight a pressure fighter
Lomachenko gonna show you what real artistic boxing is when he paints the canvas with this dudes blood
Man it took him a minute before he started tearing this guy to bits
who the fuck is holding the camera, michael j fox?
Thanks him for the footage first. People always wana talk shit while watching someone else footage. Appreciate it because it's here and STFU. You cian fly to where he is training and post your own first.
kitzchim LOL
beautiful to watch :)
Hard work Perfection. Please visit my page. there's a compilations of Rigondeaux fights and training tribute. thanks.
I have a few more... thank you.
I love his style, I'm starting to copy it.
Rigondeaux has supernatural boxing ability. I don't really think he will be putting weight on, since he has been boxing at that weight for so long. RIGONDEAUX is the definition of THE SWEET SCIENCE!
QUE MARATON DEL RIGONDEAUX HASTA EN LOS SPARRING HACE ESO JAJAJAJAJA GALLINA
the best thing about being a pro boxer gotta be being able to walk around the gym shirtless without looking like a jackass
they are different fighters with different style of fighting.. doesnt make sense to compare. rigo is a more traditional technical boxer, hands up leads with the jab. mayweather is like a jack of all trades and master of all trades as well. he can beat you with any style. he can move if he wants or stand in the pocket or he can walk you down.. thats why he is the most complete boxer to ever do it in my opinion..
the balance of Rigondeaux and the strenght of his legs is crazy
Ese era el mejor momento de rigo con fredy rosh
that left uppercut to the body…beautiful
These guys since they were very young they started boxing, they trained with minimum 3 very strong guys of the same weight plus the others, they did conditioned sparring without power and basics everyday. The CUban champions sparred between them and with many champions from other countries that came there to train. Centro de alto rendimiento was an amazing school 8 years ago. Fencing is a compliment, they developed a great strategy. It s not a brawl, it s noble art
best defence in boxing easily joy to watch
rigondueux and his skills are sharp hes a pure boxer, his footwork is beautiful a very sound boxer.
i love how rigondeaux has a style that you just cant possibly train for. There is no possible way you can get a sparring partner to match what Rigo would bring to the table. Thats the kind of style that i aspire to have.
Gold-teeth Rigo is extremely experienced. So relaxed. #RGM
title should be "guy in gray shirt shadowboxing for 17 min"
Rigondeaux foot work is something like amazing
amazing balance and reflexes....one of the best I've seen.
Look at Rigo absolute beast! Footwork, upper body movement, precise punching. How in the fook Loma completely outclassed him just baffles me, goes to show how good Loma is. Love both guys tho!
Rigo was out his weight class plus pass his prime
It crazy how even someone with shorter reach can even use the jab to keep some bigger than them back
he looks like a quick bunny rabbit with a killer punch in those big white shoes
Cuban boxing is all about footwork, it's almost like a dance
thats guy is a boxing genius
why we don't see much of Rigondeaux....especially on HBO...I hope its not because he beat Donaire..if so..then that lets you know..HBO BOXING..got its favorites and can care less about the talent in boxing..this man Rigondeaux has over 1/4 million views..just for people tuning in to watch him spar.
RIGOs jab its so stiff and perfect
Best southpaw around atm imo, I'm currently in the process of copying/using his style/techniques. brilliant boxer
Rigo is the greatest 118lbr ever! Hands down
This guy will make Floyd look normal for real
Rigo fights better in sparring then his actual fights.
a master at work. plain and simple.
Love this guy dangerous counter puncher
This is simply beautiful boxing
That cuban dude is amazing he defintely gonna make it
all rigondeaux needs to do is improve on his defense on the inside....
Man! How he is in control with a bigger guy...!
His trainer is Olympic gold medalist Pedro Diaz, who trains his guys as if they were about to compete for the National Team in Cuba, so I'm fairly sure that sparring partner is a fine boxer in his own right. But Rigondeaux is the kind of guy who makes the best in the world look very, very average.
stepping back is the greatest defence in any martial art, rather step back than be a punch drunk.
The guy touching Rigo Six pac every break lol
I don't think he got hit a single time this whole session
also, this guy is not even keeping Guillermo's defense and footwork very honest.... this guy isn't using his jab, he isn't stepping over when Guillermo is moving, doesn't move to Guillermo's right, and he isn't applying any real pressure on Guillermo... it is like Guillermo is just in there to play around, why is Freddie roach allowing this...?

5:00 - 5:46
Makin what ten year vets struggle on look easy
***** Lol southpaw is a legitimate style of boxing and that comment is utterly stupid. That's as dumb as saying a kickboxer shouldn't kick.
Can u see what's wrong with the second fighter? He can't move to his left. The reason he gets knocked down is bc he outside pivots as a sthpw against a south paw, which amplifies rigondeaux small right hook.
i can see why alex and freddie didnt get along... alex acting like hes the trainer
Rockstar has gotten so much money out of that God damn ring.
If fighters will follow RIGO's style, BOXING WILL DIE!
rigo v loma the world needs to see that fight! what a waste of having two greats in the same generation..
loma easy...will end up pac vs may...loma just needs a jab and spread his legs. don't want to see it .
Well yes he did got hit a lot as his career progressed. He is known for being a tough guy, being able to take a lot punishment, especially the the Frazier fights. You cannot say he didn't got hit a lot, you just can't
WHAT A LIVING LEDGEND OF NATURE
nice i think this guy deserve bigger pay days man i wish he was in 147 just to see who he will destroy there imagine him against mayweather that will be a technical war
I heard Rigondeaux doesn't do much hard sparring, he does a lot of his work technical based
IF only Rigo, Floyd, and Andre were the same size in the same weight class, ah man.
Ali pre the 3 year layoff was untouchable, Yes he got hit, but that was once every blue moon. Watch him in his prime , 66' 67', he only got hit 4 times in his best boxing match vs big cat williams. He even said himself "Every time i got hit, it shook my whole body, so i know i had to put this man out "
floyd is one of the fighter iv'e seen adapt most throughout his bouts. if he did the "same moves" he'd have lost a very long time ago
Rigo is good. He has great fundamentals but he fought no names yet except Donaire who is no longer on his prime that time. There will always be young and hungry out there. Sad to say, this guys in on the sunset of his prime.
rigo is soooo focused omygoodnesss
I wonder if there are stories out there of Rigondeaux taking a beat down in sparring?
wow that body shot @ 1:53
The only fighter today with the technical skills rivaling that of Mayweather's.
Rigo is in my top 10.
The one thing I hate about boxing clubs is the amount of Nut-Riders that seem to hang around them i.e. the guys that seem to turn up and just watch you out of the corner of their eyes -forever envious - but never actually pulling on the gloves for training
Cmon why throw the new guy in with the Jackal
Yup cause he doesn't rely's on a very tight defense to then measure distance, timing etc.... He does it with basic fundamentals keep ur hands up and the lead hand u can use it for measure just like ur front foot are use for. So yup I will say el chakal is a better ROUNDED ALL AROUND BOXER
