This is like the Cartoon Network equivalent of the My Cabbages gag from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Something gets destroyed or damaged constantly and its owner suffers as he witnesses it happen.
My reaction to "What is it with people and destroying my car?" was literally, "I don't know, what is it with the cabbage man and losing his cabbages to bender fights?"

Growing up and not having as much as other kids makes you appreciate things that you work to get that much more. Seeing as Kevin was a loner with no family as a kid, outcast by society for being a “freak”.. His obsession with his car is completely understandable and relatable.
