Ecco: The Tides of Time (1994) is the sequel to Ecco the Dolphin ( tasvideos.org/... ). It is harder than the original, and continues its bizarre science fiction plotline. You control Ecco the dolphin, navigating the waters, circumnavigating the time-stream, saving lost DNA nucleotide pairs, and finding key crystals, schools of fish and pockets of air deep down in submarine caves.
Ecco is capable of moving at very high speed but has little in the way of brakes. Turning corners without smashing into walls is tricky to say the least.
Upthorn ( tasvideos.org/... ) improves his previous previous record ( tasvideos.org/... ) by 00:55.14 seconds.

Between the music and the ambiance, this game captures such an ominous and sad feeling for me. It feels good though.

One of my favourite games of all time and now I can watch you finish what I couldn't as a small 8 year old boy who didn't spoke English yet but loved the music and the pretty animals. This is one deep nostalgic trip for me.
Game of the year 1994, and here I am in 2024, 30 years later watching Ecco again. 🥰

You and I are kindred spirits now - that Goddamn Globe Holder nearly gave me a stroke at the age of 11. I'll never forget my big brother laughing at me trying to beat that level, it just made the frustration even worse.
Freaking Ecco was playing basketball with that thing is what he was doing!
Took me my entire childhood to make it to 10:24. Didn't know you had to follow one of the kid orcas and got stuck on this stage for quite literally years.
Me too! I would find the orcas but didn’t know I had to follow the orca at the end. Never understood that! Gave up on the game because of that

my jaw dropped several times, watching the speed someone beat some of these levels that took me HOURS of game play to beat. This is amazing, thanks for the nostalgia run!!
When I was a kid I remember the sound you heard when you died scared the hell out of me. I later manned up and beat the whole game.
Yeah and in the first game, it’s the sound you make every time you get hit. When will the suffering stop!

When I was very young "Flipper" would come on Nic at nite and SeaQuest DSV or some acronym had a dolphin who talked with a dolphin talk thing and I wanted to be a Marine Biologist and this game had MY name written on it, it seemed.
The thing was I must have rented this game (Mom can we?!) over 10 times but I was too young to hate this game because I never made it far enough to see the horror waiting to give me nightmares. I was 6 or 7 at the time.

As a kid I did not get very far.( but I loved it) .. I repurchased the game 20years later and finally beat it. hah
TASes are honestly funny to watch, especially if you haven’t played the game before and have no context as to what’s happening.
