Excellent very well done, for small business once they learn to print cheques they don't need to buy payroll software. I use excel for payroll I love it! I think once people truly understand how delightful and easy excel is to use for payroll ie. in small companies there will be far less demand for compensation and payroll software. Our company has less then 20 people, I can just add whatever I need.
Gross Pay = (pay per hour)(total hours worked) + (overtime pay per hour)(total overtime hours) Income Tax = Gross Pay * income tax rate (%) Net Pay = Gross Pay - (Gross Pay * income tax rate %) - other deductibles Pay: Hourly wage or salary rate. Total Hours Worked: Total regular hours worked in a given period. Overtime: Additional pay rate for hours worked beyond regular hours, typically higher than regular pay. Total Overtime Hours: The number of hours worked beyond the regular work hours. Gross Pay: Total earnings before deductions (includes regular and overtime pay). Income Tax: Percentage of Gross Pay deducted for taxes. Other Deductibles: Additional deductions like insurance, retirement contributions, etc. Net Pay: Final earnings after all deductions (Income Tax and Other Deductibles).
Thank You So much for your feedback. We are working on the course in two sections Ms Excel for Beginners and Advanced Ms excel. Hopefully we will start both simultaneously soon !!!
Dear Sir, We have used the usual time for routine hours and then over time. You can find the format as well about how we can set the over time to work on it. Hopefully it will works
You could make two pay columns: Weekly Pay Rate and Weekend Pay Rate, then calculate the cost per number of hours for each. It would be very similar to how he split the overtime value here. The overtime is just an additional column to calculate hours worked at a different pay rate. The calculation he's running is to figure hours worked at a regular pay rate + hours worked at an overtime rate. So, to make this straightforward: If I work 2 hours at a regular pay rate of $10 per hour, I have made $20, right? If I work 2 more hours at an overtime pay rate (time and a half or 1.5x) of $15.00, I will have made $30 from the overtime that I have worked, right? Add those two together (20+30) and you get $50.00. That formula looks like this: (2 x 10) + (2 x 15) = $50. You solve in PEMDAS fashion. I hope this answers all of the questions you had. It's 6 months later so you may have already resolved the question for yourself, I'm sure. But just in case. :)
Thank You for your comment. We have used the general formula in order to make it simple. We can add mutiple columns like medical expense or allowances to make it more realistic. Thank You.
I love that with the power of tutorials, one does not need a college course to learn how to construct spreadsheets
