As a mechanic (not car), “I kind of want to be there when you’re putting it back together” is the last thing you ever want to hear from a customer.
The last thing any type of technician wants to hear.
Im an electronics technician I never let customers watch me work. It's distracting
Lol yep. That's gonna be a no from me
Just say it's a 1000$ job for me to do it, 1500$ if you want to watch or help. Why? teaching fee plus the extra hours because i'll be working slower...
and how do you suggest customer (who pays you, mechanic) - to be sure that you did everything correctly?
"I can live in my car but I can't drive my house."
Pure words of wisdom to always live by. 😎👍
Sergio sounds like an amazing guy(I think I spelled it right). The dude that fixed the valve train
I like this guy, successful, but not snooty, drives manuals, a true car guy, someone you could have a beer with.
"succesful, but doesn't make me feeel bad about being poor" Fixed it.
Only 13 year Olds without a driver's license care about if you drive a manual. Coming from someone who drives a manual
I guess you're the expert in the poor but feels great about it category. @@drsrsv8884

Great to see them being driven and enjoyed!
As cars should be!
Congratulations, great story and that mechanic is a life saver.
"I can't drive my house but I can live in my car" words of wisdom
I read "the driver" and seeing Dave Maher in that seat is just super cool
Super cool sitting in the seat the Stig sat in!!
We need more Sergios
Dave look like Rod Serling after many trips to the gym, and no cigarettes.
I had to look him up, but I’m def taking that as a compliment.
Your videos are a breath of fresh air, always enjoy watching
God bless Sergio and all the other Sergios in various fields in the world. They are a truly rare breed.
What Ferrari would you pick for a long road trip?
GTC4 Lusso
F430 spider manual
Ferrari ff
Ferrari 599
@@ashp5406 599 gto manual is the holy gt car.
Love the 550, the most gorgeous 'modern gt' ever made!!
Great story and the mechanic is a saviour for such cars
Wow that Ferrari 550 sounds good now! I hate the way it sounds stock. Doesn’t even sound like a v12 so boring!
Your dedication to maintaining and preserving this awesome Ferrari is well respected! I've had the pleasure of driving a 550 Maranello, manual, and it's definitely the nicest tourer I've ever driven. Great car!
Great story, thanks for sharing Dave.
Great story, it's great hearing stories from ppl who actually drive cars like this.
Sounds like Greg had some insider trading… knew the guy selling the car, bid against you and got the price bumped the way you tell the story!
Word has it that he is a Gentleman driver….
Bid rep was like “you CAN bid more, it won’t kill you”🤣🤣🤣
I wish I had the money to say “oops, I bought a Ferrari” lol
You have to do like he did and get a divorce first
@@crherniman If I can’t afford a Ferrari now, I doubt a divorce will help my cause 😂
What an awesome story! That mechanic is amazing
Sounds like he better keep Sergio on speed dial.
550M ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RARRIS!!
Great story, full of great people, and a great car. Only pony I’ve ever driven. They sweet.
Yes, new content, thank you vinwiki. 3:00 in I just wanted to say sorry for the divorce bud, that sounded rough the way you said it, good times to come keep your head up and keep up the good work, appreciate you sharing with us so we can all learn.
What is an eight handle?
Cool video. I'd have to say that's my favourite Ferrari, from when they came out until today. Giallo looks great too. Would own
Much love from Oregon
August 30th is a great day for a birthday.
Yellow looks good on this car, but I’d get it in gray/silver or red
Reminds me of the old adage "there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes Benz" and I assume that's doubly true with Ferrari. That extensive knowledge, like Sergio has, is alot of what you end up paying for.
But I've always liked yellow Ferraris, though more on like a 355, or maybe a 430. But I've always really loved the 550/575 and just thought it was one of the most beautiful cars. They look great any color, but especially black, but they also had this like baby/sky blue color and in that they just look incredible. Would love to have one someday.
Typcially not a fan of newer ferraris, but as soon as they hit some age they become cool to me. Now i want a yellow 550, cool dude and a cool car
Good morning wish Y'all a great day!
Good morning bud, have a great day too 🙏
Having "a guy" who's the expert mechanic is so key with any car. I had that with a lowly Honda CRX that I ran in prepared class on the track. Of course being a typical Honda racecar owner, I would DIY almost everything. But when I could not figure something out, onto the trailer it went and up to "my guy" it went.
Sergio is going to have a line of new customers lined up to get his services after this goes live.
Another great story!
Do everything in you’re power to keep Sergio healthy and alive
These are the kind of car guys I love they buy these amazing cars and actually drive them
@ the 10.38 mark....Ferrari markets that as "VVT"
Triple A never shows up online no matter what.
…. I would buy Sergio a beer if I could. Not for what he did for, who ever this video is about lol, but for being The Mechanic who does right and knows his stuff.
I need this mechanics information…
Its gonna cost ya…
Sergio, the Ferrari whisperer 🏎️💨
everyone needs a sergio
More stories like this, please.
Aug 30th as well 🙏🙏
Invite this guy back
I like this guy.
Sold for $90,500 is 2019 with 43k MILES?
It was a 1998 550, the best year for that spec, IMPO.
We need Sergio's contact info
So, a ferrari V12 is cheaper to fix than a new honda civic.. cool.
Sole Italian guy vs Stealerships.
I got to pull a exploded rabit out of the front end of a Pagani at the look out on the gragon a few yrs ago at 1 am.
I've heard that Ferrari's are temperamental, but this doesn't sound like an ownership experience that I'd want. The closer I get to actually pulling the trigger on my "ideal" sports car the better Porsches look.
Then you should visit Switch Cars.
The mechanic he's referring to is a real one. My guess is he loves his job and loves taking care of people.
DAVE!
Can we have Sergio contact info please...Could be handy 😅
The 550 Maranello is the last “attainable” OEM manual Ferrari. Yes 599s and F430s can be converted but they have to have lag between shifts programmed into the software to mimic the action of the heavier flywheel of a manual car. Not quite the same.
Fiammenghi is the greatest 💪💪💪
Yellow Ferrari are mint
It would be cool to rebuild the Ferrari engine
I want to grow up to be this guy
Dude looks like a meaner Lou Ferrigno
High mileage Ferrari 41,000 miles... LOL 41,000 miles! No doubt that is super high miles for a Ferrari.
Anything above 5k to 11k is considered high mileage.
@Setanta69 I know that's why that statement is just Absurd. The Ferrari collector enjoys his Ferrari by inviting friends over to drink red Italian wine while spending time in his garage admiring his Ferrari. Might start it up to put some heat through the engine. The moment he puts one mile on his Ferrari he knows the value will decline.
This behavior is polar opposite to the behavior of a Porsche owner.
Porsche owners are a toss-up of 50/50 ashtrays, and centered people. What you are describing as the polar opposite is the Corvette curmudgeon.@@timotheegoulet1511
try a GTR!
You can't drive a house not you can live in a car 😂
Will someone please take my V12 Mercedes s600
Top notch mechanic
Day 74 on waiting for you guys to make a video on a kick ass unique car collection a woman has in NJ
Look up saving Saturn
You can’t be disappointed at all but a video on it would be outstanding!!!!
What channel do you think this is 😂
What is sergios phone number😂
“can’t drive my house but I can drive my car”
did you listen? that wasnt what he said....
"I can't drive in my house but I can live in my car."
The more one learns about Ferrari and its engineering, the less one respects Ferrari. Sorry, but it's true. They are beautiful to look at, though - which is what the Italians specialize in. Durability? Not so much.
Interesting …. I LOVE looking at Ferraris but have no RESPECT for them……
Once they got all digitized, I guess the respect fell. But the 550 1998 was the best year for the manual, GATED MANUAL.
i divorced all my alts from previous bull run and married to solana only thanks to you James😂 ....and started to see the progress , bought solana at 40 , 70 . 120
Nipples!!!
Why is this guy so out of breath?
Tren😂😂
Ever wonder your wife divorced you? Ever wonder why you married her. It's the same.
These engines are a pain to pull. I have done it. Working on them while outside. Much easier. A simple v12. A glorious motor. Intake can be a bear. But awesome motor
