Do I need to replace the gasket of the upper cover?
I know this was made forever ago, but this helped me figure out why the hell I couldn't take off my Odyssey manifold. You highlighted those 2 little nuts keeping it in place. Thanks so much!
Engine looks pretty darn clean... like new.
Excellent and honest video of the year. Yes brother you saved me from dishonest mechanics. God bless ❤
Same thanks 💯💯💯
Excellent video as always MrRangerZr1 !! I used this to get access to my fuel injectors. I had to change #6 cylinder fuel injector cause it would cause a misfire even when I changed out the coil and new plugs. Issue has seem to be resolved. More test driving this weekend.
Howd it go?
Thank you! I greatly appreciate the video showing the work; not your face! Now I plan to copy what you did.
Thank you so much for this video! Great job… Super helpful…
Thanks! This is exactly what I need to do to mine. I’m getting a 301 code from bank 1. Figure I should change out all 6 after seeing how much has to be done to reach the injectors.
Wow! You did an excellent job ! I like it video.
Great video, I save myself from dishonest mechanic or repair shops, which most of them are...
Great Job! Thank you for making the video
Thanks for the video.very informative!!
Great video......really great! Thanks
My question is... do you have to loosen and tighten the bolts in that order? My thought is your not taking off a head so why should it matter as long as the bolts are tight.
I had no idea you could pull the whole thing off in one piece. I struggled like hell to separate those 2 halves.
Thats why the shop manual is handy. You can find some pages of the manual through the forums. There are some nice folks that can give you the screenshot or pictures of the manual.
MrRangerZr1 I got the service manual for the accord. it's 2900+ pages. Couldn't find anything that specific on it. I will take another look in the AM.
BuddyLe3 I bought a Haynes manual. Worse than useless now that Chilton owns them. No relevant photos.
@@MrRangerZr1 where do you find/bought the service manual ?
@@luisfeliciano2492 online
Thanks for posting.
Great Video... TY
I have to change out both knock sensors on my ‘15 Accord 6/6. It’s definitely a bit different, but I assume that for the most part, the torquing sequence/specs for the intake manifold top, are all the same on these newer J-series engines.
Yes
@@MrRangerZr1 Do you know if there’s any good videos on the 9G AV6 platform, for the knock sensor replacement? I found some removal manuals from some Honda service bullets some techs posted online. I think it’s a little self explanatory, but I haven’t finished the removal process myself yet….
@@isnowyazn Watch my intake manifold and intake runner video
Gracias pana
Thanks for the great video. Quick question for you - what's the component that you're disconnecting at 1:38? Is it the Throttle Position Sensor?
PCV line
Mr. Ranger would you be doing a video for the valve cover gasket any time soon?... Thanks brother. Trying to do that before the heat get back to Soflo.
kaimanson K that rear cover is a bear to deal with lol will see if I can do it
@@MrRangerZr1 I have heard that too.
Where is the iat sensor located on these
05-06 use map sensor and iat sensor on the intake manifold. 07-10 use MAF sensor and MAP, no IAT sensor, MAF calculates that.
Can this Manifold go on my 2006 Acura MDX to get more HP out of it?
Not gonna make a huge difference
I got a knocking coming from my intake area.. Will taking the plenum off.. Will i be able to start the car or listen to see where knock is ciming from..
No that will not work.
Did u used the repair manual book for this removal or got the removal instructions from somewhere else?
Shop manual
Hello, good afternoon, could you tell me how long it will take to change that packaging, how long does this work last?
what packaging?
ARE THIS ENGINE V6 , IS THE SAME V6 AS 2013 ACCORD 3.5 V6 ? USE THE SAME STEPS ?
LOOKING TO REPLACE KNOCK SENSOR .
THANK YOU !
Same
why you need to change them? cracked? how about the gasket? thanks
Joe Cox removal to get access to fuel injector heads etc
did I miss something ? you only got the point of removing the top cover. Is there more to this video?
Watch the entire video
that is odd. for some reason it is cutting out portions of the video. when I hover over the red line for showing the timeline, it shows a picture of you removing the intake that is skipped when I try to just watch it from the beginning. thanks
I can't find any videos for replacing the knock sensor on my 2010 Crosstour. This looks similar to my engine
With the intake manifold off, on this engine, are the cylinder head intake runners, and intake valves accessible for cleaning? Walnut blasting? It looks like there is also a "lower" intake manifold that must come off. If so, how much work is that? Thanks.
No need for walnut blasting on this engine, it doesn't have GDI.
Here's a video on the lower intake manifold:ruclips.net/video/dDEfBk4NO6M/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks MRRangerZr1 ! Would you care to opine on the general reliability of the 2014-2019 Odyssey's? The VCM, transmission and power side doors stories have me concerned. I don't want to buy my daughter a PITA Van! @@MrRangerZr1
@@mikeceli Avoid the 2018-2019 models, basically models with the 9 speed transmission.
I would recommend a 2011-2021 sienna over any odyssey even though I have like 4 odysseys in my driveway lol
Thanks, MrRanferZr1. Do the 9-speeds fail prematurely? I too prefer the Sienna, however it's IIHS Crash Ratings fail to meet my requirements until the 2021 model year. Odyssey's did well from 2014 on. @@MrRangerZr1
Thanks "MrRanger Zr1 (ZR1 Corvette?) Yesterday I bought a 2014 Odyssey LXE, Burgundy Metallic ,Cream Leather. What is the name of the hose at 4:17?
Pcv hose
Where can I find the manual?
online
where does one get the torque and bolt sequence paper ur using
service manual
Man of few words
How did you get that engine compartment so clean?
Just regular wipe downs I don’t let it get dirty too much
The hose at around 2:50-2:58 is a PIA for me.. any advice?
Nevermind, I saw you used a good amount of pressure there and example of smaller pliers helped out too. Thank you
What is that white sheet of paper called so i can look it up? thank you in advance
Its the shop manual. You have to buy it.
Please help!
I think I dropped a nut (position 1) inside the intake manifol at the small groove, (where the mounting bolt (2) and nut (3) located,) of my 2007 Honda odyssey. Can I take it apart into 2 halves to find that nut? and put those 2 halves back?
Thank you 🙏
Just remove the intake manifold from the car and start jiggling it like mad, it'll come out. The intake manifold is sealed together and resealing it can be a pain if you split.
@@MrRangerZr1 Thank you
It's weird. The nut just disappeared. I removed the intake manifold and was jiggling but heard no sound!
Is it possible that the nut was stuck somewhere inside?
If I just ignore it and put the intake manifold back, can that nut find its way into the combustion chambers?
Thanks again 🙏
Do not turn on the engine until you find that nut, getting a nut stuck in the valves will be catastrophic. Check in the intake runners.
@@MrRangerZr1 I will do that. Many Thanks 🙏
Did you get it out? Your ordeal got me worried LOL that's not a fun situation
Where did you found that service manual if you can share with us? Thanks!
You can find it online, mine is CD version.
@@MrRangerZr1 hi there, thanks for the reply. That was kind a my question, where online I can find those..I looked everywhere? Thanks
@@MilanDisljenkovic I found mine on ebay
Did you have any acceleration issues, lag or vacuum leak before this was done? Mine seems to be laggy on acceleration. Have never taken the plenum off. Will have to clean the MAF to rule that out. Maintenance is all up to date.
MAF cleaning, air filter replace, throttle body cleaning and a ECU reset should restore throttle response. Change the spark plugs if you're over 100k miles. If it still doesn't do anything, then you need to start diagnosing deeper.
MrRangerZr1 Thank you for replying. I've done alot of maintenance including 100k maint ect. Changed the engine air filter with an OEM. Previous owner had a fram junker in their. Will have to clean the throttle body and MAF. Thanks!
Also run few tanks with B12 chemtool fuel injector cleaner. Make sure you drive it like you stole it to work the cleaner in.
Forgot to answer your question, no I did not have any vacuum leaks. The gasket is metal, it won't leak. Check the intake tube for cracks, common problem on the odysseys.
MrRangerZr1 Awesome! I will nake sure to look for that. I will use that B12 cleaner on my next fill up. Thanks again
Did you reuse the gaskets or replaced them?
