    The pelletizer. It's the same as putting the straw bale in a hydraulic press. The weight of the material won't change but the volume will change drastically. In this case by about half which is what I would expect. A car crusher transforms a whole car into a four foot cube. Same weight, less volume.

      And nowhere was it mentioned about the price vs a straw bale vs straw pellets. If I remember from fs19, the pellets paid more than the hay ever would.
      Id be worried if you got the same volume of compressed pellets from a straw bale.

      I agree with the volume but in FS it’s weighed in litres not volume, plus you have the extra cost of molasses so it’s 1000 litres = 250 litres not 1000 litres, and you get extra money for doing the process I watched Disturbed Simulations, yesterday and he did a spreadsheet, and the amount off straw and hay you have to do is silly and really not worth doing

    Hey Paul. Couple things to note about this pack and the tests you did.
    -Any liftable bales will cause a game crash. tested this on NML and a vanilla base game map with just the straw pack and either liftable bales pack or selectable bale capacity.
    You can use the mods that let you purchase bales either the buyable bales or the buyable large stack of bales mod does work fine with no crashes.
    -Also with the conversion of 4:1 from hay/straw to pellets. You can use these for feed and beeding. If so. it would covert it to the origial amount such as A 9K Litre bale used to convert to pellets.

    Be mindful when working around the pallets, they will spontaneously unload into any bucket that gets in range. This includes the crane even when you have the pallet tool selected, after moving and releasing a pallet with it i noticed the pallet was short 800 litres so I moved the crane away, switched to the bucket and promptly dropped said missing product on rhe floor as rhe bucket was open!
    I also tried dropping 4000 litre buckets or pellets into the palletizer a few times to see if there was any bonus product increase from using that method, I kept getting an equal amount out with a couple of bags showing on the machine which could be put down to animation cycles. If it is bonus product then its such a negligible amount its hardly worth the effort and extra cost vs just selling loose. Though the process itself is actually pretty cool to do, in an interactive production sense.
    As a side note I also tested 600 litre baby bales (spawned with Power Tools since im on PC), they worked just fine in the Premos shredder so long as they're oriented correctly, I even tried the 10 stack of baby bales produced by the basegame Arcusin stacker machine and that worked just like a normal 6000 litre square bale 😁.

    Option 1; Use the slower Premoss in the field to produce loose product and cart to sale/storage
    Option 2; Use the faster baler but go through multiple bale handling operations and carting to convert it to loose product/pallets then cart to sale/storage.
    Varied shed options in the pack for storing bales, pallets and loose product without the palletiser. As a pc player I'm running multi Premoss on courseplay in big fields on American maps. Four sheds from the pack installed in a custom yard/storage area, three for loose product and one planned for storing silage bales (assuming it stores them) when I get the mowing crew out again.

    Jan. 25, 2024 Nobody has mentioned feeding the hay pellets to animals or using the straw pellets for bedding. Two people I watch have done some testing. LooneyFarmGuy and Driver53 Gaming. Go watch their videos. For those of you who think the Straw Harvest might not be worth it for all the work, feeding and bedding is a 1 to 4 ratio. For every 1000 liters of pellet product, you get 4,000 liters of product, whether it's for feed or bedding. You can use either loose of those in pAllets. Same ratio but ONLY when using it for feed or bedding. Check them out.

    If it goes by fs 19 rules even though there is compression and you don't have as many liters when you put it in the animal pens or feed mixers, they decompress, and you get their pre pellet volume.

  • @Qualjyn
    @Qualjyn 9 месяцев назад

    People saying the volume should be 1:1 are barking up the wrong tree.
    It makes perfect sense that compressing loose material into pellets would decrease the volume. If they're meant to be more profitable, it's the sell price that needs to increase, not the output volume
    And if pallets are supposed to be worth the expense and effort, the pallet salepoint needs to not accept loose pellets.

    I have just done a quick test on FS 19 on No Mans Land. I took some loose pellets to the sell point and the prompt came up to tip the pellets, but when you tipped them the animation started but none of the pellets where accepted. So you couldn't sell loose pellets to the sell point on FS19.

    The ratio looks to be the same as in fs19. 4000 ltr bale got you 1000 ltr of pellets. In 19 the animal pens mostly compensated by takin less pellets, than loose hay or straw. Not quite. Adding weight? Yes, absolutely. Adding volume? Not so much. You may be adding water and molasses, but the bulk of the material is still straw or hay which is being heavily compressed. The end product is less volume at a higher density.
      Another way to look at it is since we're "removing" a much larger volume of air/empty space than the volume of what we're adding, the net result is a lower volume.

    It makes perfect sense that selling in bulk yields greater returns than palletizing. Just imagine if one had to bag their huge wheat harvest like they did a 100 years ago. It just appears that whomever made the mod didn't do the math to allow for proper production values to be outputed. It's like that in alot of the production chains. I know they are trying to simulate waste or byproduct. So the ratio isn't 1:1. But then you should at least get the by product to do something with. Example. To make butter is cream from milk process. Whip the cream until the fats separate from the liquid. The liquid is now butter milk and the solid is butter. So yes you would not get one to one butter. But combined butter and butter milk should be close to same amounts at the amount of dairy milk you started with. 500l milk. 400l butter and 50l of butter milk say 50l of waste. Would be a more realistic recipe

    • @MarkThor_11

    • @gtmddn
      @gtmddn 9 месяцев назад

      @@MarkThor_11 but there is a measurable amount of waste. Although it maybe small. All that dust and debris you see as a cloud around the machine. That is coming off something. It has weight. I'm just saying if they didn't want to add for the additional products that's added to the hay. They should at least have made the weight 1:1 ratio and just say the the weight of the water ans molasses is canceled out by the waste. Even that would be closer to a proper recipe than it weighing one amount in and over 50% less on the out. That makes no mathematical sense. And all it did is make a really neat mod useless. Like sealy said. Why even use it if you get so little out of it

    • @MarkThor_11
      @MarkThor_11 9 месяцев назад

      @@gtmddn Well, the dust cloud is just effect, it's not a measurable amount of anything. I haven't looked at the weight but I should think it adds up. Volume is not the same as weight. Not only that but water doesn't add to the volume like when making concrete. I should think molasses doesn't add much either. The only waste I think you would get is what ends up on the floor and not processed much the same as any harvester and that's not accounted for in game. And the grass stuck to a mower is not accounted for.

    • @gtmddn
      @gtmddn 9 месяцев назад

      @@MarkThor_11 ok outside of being 100% literal. Which I'm not trying to be. My point is. Liters in this game appears to be based on weight. And if that is the case. All weight has to be accounted for. It doesn't matter if the volume of the hay water and molasses is condensed down to pellets from a bulk state. The weight of those product still have to be accounted for. Now the water can be neutral as it most likely evaporates. And maybe the molasses weight reduced from evaporation. But that still leave the solid weight of the 6000l bale of hay or staw or grass. You should still get close to the same weight out as you put in. Minus what ever small amounts of waste there may be. That's all I'm saying. There is no way that it should lose 50 plus % in weight.

    • @MarkThor_11
      @MarkThor_11 9 месяцев назад

      @@gtmddn Like I said I haven't tested the weight differences. But the capacity is treated as a volume , not weight. Like if it was under even more pressure it would be less volume. Look at the Vicon Fastbale for example, that can compress a bale more than a standard baler so instead of having smaller bales with bales being universal, it has denser, heavier bales
