@pwnagepplful oil every 5k, transmission fluid every 20k, change rod bearings to aftermarket (original wrong size). People don't realise yeah you got a $100k+ car for under 20k you have to be able to afford maintenance as it stays the same or increases.
I beg to differ. After warranty they all fall apart. My 4Runner will last forever and NEVER has problems. Sold my E-class. Unreliable. Sold my 3 series when I was young. Unreliable after warranty. Bought another one recently. It’s still under warranty. We’ll see. I maintain my cars meticulously and German cars reliability is garbage. They’re so fun to drive though.
@@austinatomTV anyone who works on cars will agree. Cost a lot to turn a overengineered engine bullet proof. And regardless of that, the designs of the engines and parts is where things get pricey. Not to mention the minimal bonnet room to work. It’s already bad enough that the bmws of that time ran at minimum a inline 6. Not as easy to do reg service in a bigger engine
The aftermarket splitter you most commonly see for this M6 changes the look of the front dramatically. Instead of curving back under, the splitter brings the front fascia straight down and closer to the ground.
I own a e60 and definitely fell in love because how how mean it looks with the angel eyes and it’s definitely a timeless design, but ever since I seen the e63 m6 in person I loved the looks of it as well there is nothing like them
I’m on my 3rd 2010 E63 black on black M6 in the past 7 years. My current one is probably the lowest mileage final year E63 M6 left in the country (12.8k). I picked it up last summer as a one-owner car with only 11.8k miles on the clock. I’ve modded it with an Eventuri intake and E-Race exhaust, along with ACS rims, tint, and exterior aero parts. It sounds absolutely ungodly, but maybe a tad bit too loud compared to my previous M6 which had the E-Sport exhaust. The V10 m6 is by far the rawest beast you can own for the price, but good clean examples are getting harder to come by. I’m going to hold on to it for life, as you mentioned, BMW will never produce another car like it and these beasts will become relics of a golden automotive age.
Not to sound rude, but are you the dude on Reddit who’s always making posts about his m6 listing it’s low mileage in your captions? It’s a beautiful car man but it’s honestly cringe how elitist you try to sound
Still the best sounding car that I've ever owned but it will go down in my books as the only car that I have owned that lost me money. I've owned 28 cars since I started driving 17yrs ago and I have made money on every vehicle that I bought and sold over those years, with the exception of the m6. Lost my ass on it bc of the SMG and rod bearing issues. Only had 63k miles but every buyer was freaked out over the concerns. Honestly though I should have just kept it, was totally bad ass.
Of my most prized possessions, I've owned 2 Rolexes and 1 E63 bmw, and I would sell my rolex to buy this car. I've owned this car for 4 years now. This car cheers me up on a bad day by taking it on backroads and flooring it. No other possession can do that. Hell, women don't even do that. Keep a little money in a savings account for any repairs and buy one. You won't regret it.
After i decided to keep my M6 GC (F06) after the lease because the new Models are lag in emotion, i still was thinking about the E60M5 i had from 2009-2012. And finally in Oktober 23 i found a excellent used one with low milage and i wonderful condition. I would still never sale my M6 GranCoupe, and even the E60 is in a lower performance league, the way this aturally aspirated high reving engine deliver i something you cant experience in todays cars. I enjoy bouth cars in a complete different way, and it is wonderful ;)
As a BMW owner/lover, BMW's are definitely NOT reliable. If you keep them long-term, you will have replaced just about every essential part on the car.
Sadly, our London mayor, Sadiq Khan is basically making it illegal to own a classic ICE engine. The ULEZ clean air zones are expanding.. BUT, if your car doesn’t pass & comply with the set emissions…you can still drive it. But it’ll cost you £12.50 every time YOU DO!! So it’s another government tax.. Owning a car like this, or any classic 1990s, early 00s car/motorcycle will be stamped on! 🤬Khan!
That noise almost negates the downsides. Any owners got any experienced comments regarding cold running? My E46 M3 is a ****ing pig when cold but a dream once the oil is hot. Problem is, for short trips i cant be arsed to use it as it takes ages to warm up
Anything on the list is standard maintenance parts that everyone should do with high mileage apart from the rod bearings and SMG clutch which are expensive.
