Great job!! You must be proud of yourself because it is an accomplishment. I learned to drive stick-shift (in The Netherlands) and when I moved to the US, I started driving automatic. If I. have a choice, I will go automatic. It is just easier. There are so many things going on on the road, that it is just one less thing to have to deal with. Here in the US driving automatic is the norm and it is not as easy to find a stick-shift. It used to be more fuel economic to drive stick-shift, but nowadays the difference is negligible. At any rate, safety is more important to me. Again, kudos to you for getting your Dutch driver's license and your successful roadtrip. 👍
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it! And you’re right, I’m so accustomed to an automatic that driving in stick shift still stresses me out 😂 I think it was just a life goal to learn stick shift for me, it’s really a proper & traditional way to drive a car! But if given a choice I will do automatic as well. At least I got my license! 😜
Great job at driving from AMS to RDM!! First driving from one big busy city to the other is really stressful. But it’s weird the nav drove you through Alphen instead of him guiding you via a highway via Den Haag or Utrecht.
Thanks for your comment!! Actually I think it’s because my friend’s house is not exactly in the Center and where I came from was probably the easiest route. I didn’t mind though, it was a beautiful road trip!
@@TheTravellingFoxes yes way hehehe, at first I did not know where your going, then when you park Ur car, I was like "wait the minute its nearby where I lived hahaha" - I even passes your friend once in a while... now I know her name from this vid 🤣- small world, specially in NL even tinier
you only failed the driving test twice? That's a well done. CBR has a pretty good racket going on with driving schools, failing people 3-4 times on minute technicalities. Everyone gets more money, except the student of course.
I heard!! Honestly I could’ve passed the second one too, was just unlucky with the exam rarer who was clearly having a bad day 😅😅 Ironically, he was also there on my third attempt… but yea, getting a license here is hella expensive!
Hi there! This was NOT sponsored by Snappcar:) just a service I happened to use (and happily recommend). You can rent many types of cars for a good budget + different options. Re: driving license, they asked for my Dutch driving license indeed, but you can use any EU driving license to use the service :)
Hi there! It depends on your exam rater.. it’s usually either or so you won’t be tested on both. But better mastering them both since you’ll never know :) Goodluck!
Hey, I'm in a similar situation. I'm a few lessons away from my final. Curious about the car you drove in this video: it's one of those cars you unlock with a QR code, and just go, right? Are there no limitations on them for new drivers? Because for the "proper" rent-a-car companies, you need 1-2 years of driving experience. What about these?
Hello there! I didn't have a problem with this service...I also use Green Wheels! But yes, better to always check if they are strict with driving experience and renting cars.
Hi there! I'm not sure, seems like they were fine accepting my driver's license! Although I do have a Filipino driving license too - to show proof that I've had more years of driving experience.
Hi, I’m planning to move to the Netherlands in a couple of months, I’m planning to get my Driver’s License in my home country and exchange in the Netherlands. Just wanna know of the availability of automatic cars in the Netherlands
@@TheTravellingFoxes oh sorry, apologies if the question seemed a little vague, but in general to buy and rent as well. Oh do you know if the Netherlands provide automatic driving licenses or it’s standard all the way. Thank you for responding to my initial question!
Thank you!! Nope doesn’t have anything to do with gas, basically I can drive up to 200km and longer than that I would have to pay extra miles. Fueling up is always a requirement before returning :)
@@TheTravellingFoxes I see. Well, good of you to drive on your own. I remember when I used to have driving lessons and the engine stopped in front of a traffic light, with a long line of impatient car drivers behind me. That can certainly make you break out in sweat :-D
Hi! Nice video man! , i have a question? Do u need to get a translator when u are going to take Practical exam, en get and pay foe a Translator? I heard this is the rules now before its different. And also i think u can. Get theory in english but not in practical exam? Which situation is a fact? Sorry for lots of question We didnt call the cbr yet to ask this things🤣
Hi! Going to Amsterdam or anywhere in the Netherlands? I don’t know any pinoy-owned Airbnb or hostel but I recommend to go to The Hague, madaming Pinoy restaurants:)
What is difficult driving a manual? It took me maybe one km and I got it for the rest of my life. I don't like manuals, but if I have to drive one occasionally, there is really nothing to it. I agree that driving safely is very difficult and requires practice. How is your Dutch?
Wow, good for you!! I drove automatic all my life, so learning manual took some time. For me, it's the clutch (not changing gears) that makes it challenging :) Mijn Nederlandse is niet so goed :))
@@TheTravellingFoxes well even for dutch ppl learning to drive a car or just manual driving is hard, i dont think you need to info anymore but the clutch is pretty easy you just need to get your feet a bit up from the clutch and just add the right amount of gass.

Great job Natasha! good idea to rent a car with covered insurance as a start. (than scratching our partners car, which happened to me once. lol!
Oh no! Hahaha yea I was finally allowed to drive his car once I proved that I could confidently drive around here :)))
Was the SnapCar paid advertising or was that a company you happened to use? How was the service? Can you use use this without a Dutch driving licence?

Nice trip
But highways are way faster and in daytime much easier 😎
True, I guess my GPS took me to the mroe picturesque path :))

Why did you take all the N roads though? Isn't taking the highways much faster and easier?

Can i grt driving licence as a international student

uncompaeable the roads in Netherlands to the roads and highways in thePhilippines (im a Dutchman living in the Philippines)
I totally agree! I’m used to the chaotic streets in Manila…learning how to drive in the Netherlands, I had to “unlearn” a lot of things!
