it was my second Villa Game in Bern, after the away Game 2023 against West Ham in London. As a Swiss🇨🇭Villa Fan💜💙 i was so lucky about the draw against YB. The atmosphere in the city in the afternoon was great. All Villans sing it is the way to Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Lazio Rome. And the 3-0 win was fantastic. I will never forget seeing Villa almost on my doorstep. Villa Fan💜💙from Switzerland🇨🇭 Marc
It was my pleasure gathering the footage for you Peter. This was a beautiful tribute. A full video of my trip will be up later for anyone that wishes to see what is Villans got up to It was absolutely amazinggggggg 👌🏻💜🩵
Gary was just six months younger than me. So I was lucky enough to see him play many times during the golden era of ‘81/82. Terrific player and partnership with Peter Withe, and by all accounts insanely modest. I heard Maradona at some point asked to swap shirts with him.! And on top of all that he was a local kid, a Villa supporter, achieving what all of us Brummy/West Midlands kids dreamed or even fantasised about whilst kicking a ball about in the garden, street or park, where we’d play for Villa and score at the Holte End. RIP Gary. Thanks for the memories, your achievements for this club and playing out our dreams for real. HEITS
Nice tribute Pete. As a kid I lived in the same road as Gary. When he first made it into the first team our Deputy Headmaster stood up in school assembly and told us what a fantastic player Gary had been when he was at our school. Believe me, we were very proud that he was "one of us." I just can't believe that his story has ended this way. He was a special footballer. May he Rest In Peace.
As a kid we lived a couple of doors away from Dennis Mortimer. Every now and then a few flash cars would appear outside his house so we’d all hang around on our bikes hoping we’d see Gary Shaw or Tony Morley. But we never did 😔
I didn't realise how long you'd been following Villa for Pete. That's very impressive from all the way over in Canada. Makes sense now about all your knowledge on these videos. Keep up the good work 👍
You might live thousands of miles from Villa Park Pete but as per usual a spot on analysis of the match and a wonderful tribute to my boyhood hero Gary Shaw! You are truly one of us - the Villa family and we salute you!
Hi pete, you may b a Canadian, but your support for villa is just as great as any brummie, UK or follower around the world, a fantastic video, unbelievable knowledge, keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍
Late to the party Pete, but I’ve left a like on the table and grabbed a party bag on the way out 😂. Great analysis again, what a time to be a Villan UTV
Great show as always Pete, loved the Gary Shaw tribute, imo it was such a shame that Deadly Doug started chopping that winning team up he and the others would have won far more than they did and also Gary’s knee problem cutting short his career, but the one thing that can’t be taken off us is our memories UTV.
Heartfelt comments, Pete. We can see and feel the emotion. I feel the same, although growing up 45 minutes walk from the ground I had the opportunity to see him play. I’m not surprised he recognised you - yours is the premier Villa channel. Rest in Peace Gary Shaw.
I can't begin to explain just how much Gary Shaw means to me he is my boyhood hero it was the most unbelievable privilege to see him play then to find out so many years later he was an absolute gentleman. 100% bonified Aston Villa legend RIP Gaz 😢😢
Love this. Thank you for your lovely words about Gary Shaw. Your mother was right! I fell in love with Gary and the Villa at the tender age of 8 in early '81 - a very sad loss for us all.
Brilliant as ever & moving too. Born in 75, grew up closer to Birmingham than you in West London. I stood out in my Villa kit. No its not bloody West Ham!! Gary was a huge part of me following Villa. First player i wrote to. A hero. I was in tears. Many of us Villains were.
That was absolutely bloody lovely 🌹 tribute to Gary, 💗😍😍 love you deeply, villa family fans together , 💞 future king 👑 royalty, stay strong, Cheers 🥂🎈 to Gary 🥃🥃
Just like you Pete I idolised Gary Shaw even thought I was him in my head playing in B23 a mile or 2 from vp. My 1st game was ipswich loosing 1-0 1981. Such a tragedy to loose him on the eve of being back in European cup. GOD BLESS YOU GARY ANOTHER HEITS
A very fitting tribute Pete. As you know we have had parallel upbringings in Vancouver and when every young boy cheered for Manchester United or Liverpool, our love was for Aston Villa. Took a lot of ribbing over the years and it does my heart good to see Villa doing so well now. Keep up the great broadcasts and we'll keep tuning in. Up The Villa... John
Like you Pete had the pleasure of meeting Gary Shaw..they say never meet your heroes..but he was an absolute joy..I asked him to sign the cover of my programme..he did better than that..he flicked through to a picture of him scoring what he said was one of his greatest goals..and signed that picture for me..Legend is a word banded around far too often..PFA Young player of the year..League Champion..European Cup winner..UEFA Super Cup winner..European young player of the year...Now that's a legend..RIP Gary..
I was nearly 14 when in Rotterdam and still the best day of my life, never expected to be back in it in my lifetime but always hoped, will be emotional against Bayern 😢😢
I was surprised to find I really like the new kit with the silver. Looks really classy. If we could buy the Acorns sponsored ones I’d even consider buying
That picture of you with all the others then I noticed Gary Shaw standing right next to you. Omg how sad that is now he's gone. Wish he was still here. R.I.P Gary
Hahaha! It did make me laugh when you mentioned those pesky black bits on the Astro-turf pitches. Even though you’re the other side of the world, they are just as irritating! I manage a football team and they are the Bain of my life! They get everywhere and even though I now ensure my son and I take everything off before we get in the house, I still see the little bleeders all around the house! First world problems, eh! 😂😂😂
Hardest thing about this game was adjusting to Astro Turf! Ive played on it for a Amateur team and its almost a different game, you really do have to get used to it. The ball bounces completely differently, and you need far greater control of the ball as it pings about a lot more! Imagine playing football on a giant Table Tennis table with a ping pong ball the size of a football! 🤣
Love your subbuteo stadium. I loved subbuteo as well but unfortunately my parents wouldn't buy me any stands, so I built my own out of cardboard boxes and used all the different teams as crowds. The did spring for floodlights and scoreboards though :)
A fitting tribute to Gary, he was my favourite player of that era. I met him on a few occasions, the last of which was at a ‘Just 14’ event sometime during last season, and he always made time to chat with the fans. He may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten. HEITS 💜🩵

I'm sure Gary Shaw is still there in spirit and this season will be played in his memory. Up The Mighty Villa.

Nice to see a No.8 score our first Champions League goal, a fitting tribute to Gary Shaw
Saw Shaw on the town many times , and he was villa , modest man ,

Another beautifully put-together video. Best Villa fan-content out there. UTV!
Love the old photos Pete, you’ve aged annoyingly well 😁.
Great show, as always.
I was surprised to find I really like the new kit with the silver. Looks really classy. If we could buy the Acorns sponsored ones I’d even consider buying
Love this. Was talking about you tonight with a friend saying how overseas fans can be as passionate - or even more passionate - than us UK fans
Hit me hard this news!!
I love watching this show, excellent analysis and podcast and I love the professional looking show as well. Super impressed!
Great show as always Pete UTFV
Great video. UTMV!!!
Great video Pete, love your show, older Villa fan now in Australia
Been waiting all day for this, thanks Pete 👍
Great show Pete I love It

As always up the mighty Gary Shaw villa Pete 🥃☘️
If it was 18 seconds before Duran scored, why didn’t the Ref whistle for the Onana handball earlier, especially if we still had possession
Do not underestimate the contribution made by Martinez with several important saves at 0-0 and also later in the game
Several ?

Great vid again Pete. Enjoy the Sunday roasts! 😄
Don't worry about wolves pete, this is a different villa now, emery won't let standards slip
Great video, made me subscribe finding out your history with the Villa. The Wolves squad value of £312.90 did make me chuckle though 🤣🤣🤣

You should crowd fund another visit to the UK for a game again!
It was basically 5-0 if not for the militant ref.
Watch Onanas goal from behind again, his standing foot slips and i dont know how he managed to even hit the ball let alone in the bottom corner
I'm sure Gary was up in the cloud's look down at the game he would of been proud rip
UTV👍🏻
Love THaT football subutio figure ❤️❤️😜😜👌👌🤩🤩😘😘💜🩵💜🩵💜🩵💜🩵💜🩵

Do ye notice Emi is being called Damian now a lot on line up's
