Good on you for not going off at your "apprentice" and for owning up to your mistakes! I've found if you are straight up and truthful with bosses or customers etc, it usually works out fine. If you cover up mistakes people get pissed off no end.
Thanks mate!
Regards to the apprentice.
That's a tough call. Granted it's their first day, but it's not a good sign when she didn't understand the context of the cabletie instruction when the example of what to do was right in front of them on the existing cables.
I had an endless parade of apprentices under me. It was staggering how little they understood the most basic concept of simple mechanical world they live and now choose to work in.
About 60-70% were never going to make it. About 8% of remainder would turn out as a good Journeyman. The rest turned out mediocre.

Brilliant work. I think I prefer the vlogs, they’re more raw and your personality really shines through 😊. Thanks for the video!
Noted. Thankyou!
Haha that is class. Cable tie the cable, and she does exactly that, very well listened 😂😂 be more specific now your the boss 🤣🤣 quality work as always mate.
Great listener, I can definitely learn from her 😂👍🏼
@@corymac haha, I’m sure your great friend Jordan will agree with that one 😂👌

09:53 That’s brilliant humor right there, the way of commenting it and her laughing in the background 😂
@Ellie Don’t worry, we’ve all done things like that before, just learn from Cory, he is going to teach you as good as he did with Reuben at Artisan!
@Cory I’m soo glad to see your business grow and to see how well you perform!
Loved all your videos and can’t get enough!
Thanks for all your effort!!!
Cheers mate!!
Another great job and your workmanship is outstanding as always and so is your humour. And yes I’m a woman watching your videos 🇮🇪😎👏
Thank you very much ☺️😁👍🏼
Aw man, that Doggo is ABSOLUTELY STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL. Excellent choice.
Love watching your channel - proper tradesman.
Thanks Ronan. That’s so kind to say 😄
Great video Cory! Got my shirt from monster tools yesterday, loving the thanks mate note on it 👍👍
Thanks man!!
Orbix self tappers are the only plated fixing screws with a flat head that I have found. Give a nice finish to a job. Good work Cory.
They’re great aren’t they!
Not "cheap", but "inexpensive" Cheap has connotations of inferior quality while inexpensive simply conveys connotations of pricing. Great job and great video!😀
That’s true!!
Exactly, never use the word cheap with your customers 👍
Baskets seem so satisfying to install love seeing a good basket full of cables neatly tucked away on site 😋
I really enjoy doing it, it’s so fast and tidy!
Your work ethics are spot on we are only human and everyone makes mistakes its how you deal with that mistake thats important. Loving your videos keep up the good work
Thanks mate!
Loving the videos keep it up
Could you please talk about star and delta and explain the difference uses
Happily! I’ll do it next opportunity
Saw your son installing one of these on the Artisan channel a few days ago😂
Really enjoying the videos! From what I’ve seen so far you’re going to do very well. Who did the voiceover in the beginning of the video? His voice sounds familiar. It sounds like Dan from Exploring with Fighters. Keep making them and I’ll keep watching. Cheers from the US!
I did the voiceover haha 😂😂
I remember years ago when I was younger, more flexible, and thinner (that's important). I started originally repairing computer-controlled turret punch presses and there were some repairs requiring crawling in some tight areas. Moved on to maintain computer-controlled printed circuit board drilling machines. Way less dirt, but high-speed drill sounds and not the thump of those presses. The press repairman was somewhat larger, read FAT, and every so often I was called to that area to service something he couldn't reach (get to as the area was too small for him. He finally quit as his replacement was thinner than me, thank those who oversaw technicians.
You are right- there is a big difference between "cheap" and 'inexpensive".
Thanks for another quality video 🎉
Thanks Gary!
22 minutes in, your white screw covers, have a look in a carpark at front number plates 😁 we use them in the motor trade for front number plate screws. So you could probably get a bulk of them dirt cheap from a car parts supplier. Great video as always btw
Oh nice one! Thanks for the tip
Hey Corey, another great bud already looking forward to the next one, can I ask what kind those work trousers are?
Thanks! They’re the Blackladder craftsman trousers
Hi Cory. You wouldn't use a heavy duty cable cutter at a Bar Mitzvah (coming of age), it would be at a bris performed at around 8 days old. No one wants a snip at 13! x
Thank you for your videos very helpful for new sparks
My pleasure!
Ooooooh now that's the sort of little helper I need in my life.
Get your own! 😂😝
It is nice to see you have got your own channel keep it up bro👍👍👍😻
Thanks Barry!
10:50 perfect spot to put some instruction sign for the charger
My questions are: are these chargers tamper proof? There isn't much point in RFID tags if the unit can be physically bypassed. Either through the logic board or tapping into the 3 phase supply directly. Are these chargers on a time clock so they only work in working hours only? I noticed the screws were pozidrive to fix to the wall, would coach bolts be a better choice, so the nuts are on the inside and no head is visible outside. A spot of thread locker will prevent them from being loosened externally, as electricity theft may lead to vandalism and charger theft.
Best video yet Cory , your back on track Pal 😂
By the way you really are OCD and that’s meant as a compliment 👍, I understand and I get it, I’m exactly the same , I’ve driven my work colleagues mad for years but I hardly ever go back to a job on a recall - Do it once and do it right 👍

Love these videos. The AU/NZ guys are so cocky and think their electrics are quality but the quality shown when adhering to the regs in BS7671 are just world class.

Love this video, just pure vlog style goodness 🙌🏼
Ahhh, it wasn’t personal… well, not 100% 😝. Thanks Reece!!! See you on the next episode 😏
Great stuff Corey! Jusy an FYI though, you can't get in trouble for tearing apart a device. Reverse engineering isn't a crime. Copying however is, so you can reverse engineer to your heart's content as long as you don't try to steal their patented technology. My entire channel is built around tearing electronics down to repair them and I've never had an issue
Cool to know!
Great install, great video. It wasnt until you left Artisan that I realised it was you that made the videos more enjoyable to watch. Dont get me wrong, i still follow both channels but since you left I think they are trying and failing to play your part. in other words they make good content but the way it is delivered isnt as good. Anyway, keep the videos coming. 😃
Thanks Steve, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😁👍🏼

Great video, quick question, do you have to tap the RF fob again to end the charging period against your account, or if not, then what does end it?
It will end when the car is unplugged 🤓
spot on with Kewtech and De Walt i did the same when i started i went for Megger and Milwaukee and found the Kewtech to be the best of the lot and De Walt great value for money and stayed with it, my apprentice is a 7 year old old tyme bulldog best one i have ever had but the farts are lethal
Too right!!! Gotta stop the tool snobbery…. And yes, I can imagine those are pretty deadly 💨🤣
@@corymac they are especially in enclosed spaces gives a whole new meaning to hazardous work environments, especially in the van thank god for windows 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@corymac Kewtech were cheaper than the rest a few years ago but your gifted one is the same price as the others now, and more expensive that others. I was tempted with the 66DL to replace my 1741+ as it looks a great tester with great features but I'll have to keep saving the pennies first. I've also got a lot of Dewalt XR kit but recently moved to the Milwaukee 12V sub compact range..... awesome tools. Keep up the good work on your channel, very entertaining.... although I would prefer if the camera wasn't at the jaunty angle. 😉
I live in Sunderland and its actually one of the nicest places I’ve ever lived. Really nice people and a great coastline
I agree
Curious why you (back whenever it was done) used vertical baskets when there's so much space, instead of the normal "industrial" gutter-trays where you just drop the cables in. Only ever seen that type of baskets used for going vertical or snaking through tight spaces, where a cable ladder won't do the trick.
With Andersen having gone into adminstration recently, their apps are at risk of not working before too long, rendering their chargers "dumb", or worse: "locked".
I'm guessing thats the risk with all EV chargers that need an app to program scheduling or any other operation / configuration.
With that in mind, do you leave slack in the wiring to accommodate any replacement charger easily? Do you think that app based controls for electrical products will end up getting a bad reputation if more companies go bust?
Zaptec are ALOT larger and more stable than Andersen ever was or will be. But yeah, it’s a fair point to future proof, I always allow for that 😊
Great video thanks
Thank you!
Awesome video that was, enjoyed it 👍
Thanks man!
The dog has a good stylist. Let's find one for Cory! 😅 BTW, nice job done!
😂😂😂👍🏼
I'd love to know what your apprentice was thinking when she did that, so good. "why's he asked me to put cables ties on this cable......oh well"
😂
Why did you wire each individual. With the zaptec pro you can wire a good few on the one supply and joint box and 6mm 5 core into the the charger. You can also use power line adapters for the communication. It's all about how it's set up and commissioned.
You can, but I wanted max power on both and then they can add onto both of these and have 4 chargers
Excellent stuff - every time you make a reference to great products and tools be sure to give us the link. Somewhere we can find all the products in one place - would help alot
The links are in my bio. Almost everything is available from tool monster and you can use my discount code CORY5
@@corymac Cheers Cory.
Great to see you in action once again, what happens when you touch the key fob and you don't connect, does the next person who connects get their charge up, charged to your key fob???
It will just allocate that charge. Ones unplugged it’ll end the session
From their doco looks like there is a 5 minute timeout so if they start charging within 5 minutes of you tapping then yep would get charged to your ID otherwise they would have to tap on again.
Nice work mate! I would just pop a bit of top hat cover on the underside of the tray penetration. Otherwise bloody awesome job!
Thanks mate!!
Ever tried getting blood out of a stone Cory, that's what it's like having a Metrel unit.. You have zero calibration options unless you send it to them or a Metrel certified service centre, regardless of how easy it would be to calibrate it.. Luckily for me it was the cheapest 3ph power quality analyser, just needed fixing..
Couldn’t agree more
Great content 👍
Thanks Stephen!
Love your new apprentice. Just out of interest won’t those charging cables be considered a trip hazard across the front of the building?
Thanks Gwyn! The cables out front I’ve recommended some walk over cable tidies for when they’re used

Do Zaptec now have inbuilt PEN fault, as they didn't back in April. And can you turn that green LED ring off? Looks good for workplace and perhaps landlord/tenant.
@@corymac thanks. I managed to say hi to Jordan for a few seconds at Fully Charged having not long found Artisan! :)

Hi Cory, your linktree is missing the link to your OF. Asking for Nick Bundy...

Probably some stuff from where I work at Nissan. We send all our servos and robot controllers there for repairs if they go wrong.
Yeah! They always have cool stuff in 🤓
Being a retired electrician I would have thought that checking the other side of something before you drill through it would have been second nature
It happens , I’ve done similar stuff myself , it’s a numbers game really and the more work you do, the greater the chance of mistakes. The Key is to own up to the client and resolve ASAP , well done Cory , exactly the right approach👍 You didn’t need to show your mistake there you could have edited it and no one would be the wiser so hats off to you 👍👍

Would you say Zaptec are the best chargers Cory?
There isn’t a ‘best charger’ in my opinion. This particular charger fit this job perfectly, and fixed the problem. However in some instances and situations you may need a different setup. For domestic setups right now I lean towards MyEnergi for their whole home approach and solar diversion. For commercial and if you need monta compatibility, it’s Zaptec Pro.
So it there anything stopping someone from plugging in their car in someone else's car charger and using free electric?
With most chargers, no 👎🏼
At least she listens lol😂
I'm a big fan....... lol
Was this recorded a while ago? I swear you’re in Norway judging by your Insta😅
I’m about 2 months behind at the mo on videos / editing 😅
What's to stop a criminal from stealing the Zaptec unit and/or plugging into the mains connector behind it?
The Zaptec will not be particularly useful. It is a smart charge point that communicates over the internet ... once stolen it can easily be deactivated. Someone might be able to get it working as a dumb charge point but there are easier ways ... so it's not an attractive target.
What he said 👆🏼
I think you need to work on your accents Cory, intro went from Middlesbrough to Glasgow in one breath ;-). We have the Zaptec's at work. They suit the use case of Work Place or Multi Residential very well by having individual logons.
The 'Back Office' web portal shows who charged when and by how much allowing individual billing if required, it is very easy to make an RFID available for visitor or guest use. Love the dog she's great
I think my accent is reet lush
Them screw caps are also used for number plates on cars
Nice!
Cory -the parmos are consumed in Middlesbrough not Sunderland, sorry.
Bit like how no one eats jellied eals in Hampstead heath
Ahhh so close!!
There has to be a way to use an NFC enabled smart phone to work as the RF-ID tag.
It does work that way! The Zaptec enables the RFID in your phone
My man went on a find my self holiday and came back with cheap labour 😂
What shop is that I have a plc for sale wondering if its worth calling them?
Neutronics NE
Puzzled why you used armoured and not H07RN-F? SWA's are a pig to install on most EV charge points which is why I suspect you've used an adaptable box on the internal wall. How does the Open Circuit PEN Protection work on a three-phase supply? This is not criticism, just observation and a simple question. Have you had a look at Easee, also based in Norway? Great video, I wish I could take my apprentice to work a bit more but he's always filthy and I don't like paw marks in my EV 🐶🐶
I had that exact question half way through the install 🤣🤣 - why didn’t I use H07!!!
As for OPEN, it’s the same, just the contactor has two extra poles 😁👍🏼
What was that at 13:51?
Nothing like a bit of glamour on a channel to attract all the men of culture ! If Cory could persuade his beautiful friend to take up the position of apprentice, the channel would show all the competition who’s the real daddy! Cory is without question THE most charismatic sparky on RUclips. A “glamorous assistant”, especially one so lovely as our friend here is just what his channel needs to take it to the million+ subscriber level!
