I found Pete Yorn's music at a young age (middle school) on a short lived station called Cool 94.3. I would call in to request Strange Condition all the time. His music got me through so much throughout my teen years. Not many people I've ever met had heard of Pete Yorn's music, so it was the perfect soundtrack to get away from everything from. Still is. I even saw him at the Fonda Theater alone bc no one would accept the extra ticket. My life has made perfect sense every time I'm listening to Pete :) my girlfriend and I are gonna see him on the 16th in Hollywood and I honestly can't wait. Don't even care that it'll be a short set, I'm so excited ❤
Hope you enjoy. Don't be surprised that a lot of people hadn't heard of him. That's the look I'd get when I'd play Jeff Buckley on the jukebox at a bar. Especially where I live.
I found him through the Orange County movie soundtrack (out of all the ways) saw him play at the Troubadour and Coachella. MFTMA is one of the best albums along with the others. Great artist
Del Mar race track summer 2002. Pete and his band played a set after the racing, and as they were playing “Strange Condition”, a girl bumped into me and inadvertently spilled her beer. She apologized and I said don’t worry about it, as I was planning on getting a band t-shirt merch anyways. After the set, as I was lined up to get a signed cd, that same girl handed me a t-shirt that she purchased for me. “I hope you’re a size medium. Now you have to buy me a beer!” I was. And I did. Happily married for 22 years now.
