    I used to be such a mean girl when I started college, I was so rude and openly mocked people all the time.
    Now I realised that it was because I was a cold blooded animal and such a beta and I wanted to make myself feel better by putting other people down. Once I started gaining confidence on my own in my early 20's I started becoming nicer and treating people with more respect. Then I realised that the people I bullied were actually the people I wanted to be like in one way or another.
    If you are being bullied, trust me, it's not your fault, you have something that they want or you are who they wish they could be and they don't have the confidence to learn from you so they want to shut you down. And when they are going to gain the confidence they terribly lack they are going to feel bad for what they've done and start looking up to you.

    • @camelia4210
      @camelia4210 4 года назад +4

      @@vliciouss I’ve been on both ends of the bullying, when I was in high school I was bullied very badly (I think that’s what made me a mean girl in college). Nobody talked to me for over 7 months, almost the whole school year, and the first thing I did was make friends in other schools and have a new set of friends which made me look less like “poor little Camilla with no friends”.
      I ignored what people did to me in school and acted like i wasn’t affected by what they did (then went home and cried to my mom lol). But it’s really important to make it look like what they are doing isn’t affecting you and they will feel stupid for doing whatever they’re doing to you.
      At the end of the school year I went to the “Regina George” who has turned everyone against me and told her that we should go back to being friends, I didn’t mean it but she agreed and then everyone who followed her and started bullying me because of her felt stupid because the “leader” was nice to me again and they felt like they lost me since I didn’t look lonely for the whole year because I had other friends.
      Anyway, it’s not your fault that you’re being bullied and you are probably an amazing person and the people bullying you are the problem. Go get new friends, enjoy your life when you are with your friends and show them that they are missing out on a great person, face your bullies by making them feel like they are wasting their time for what they’re doing to you because it doesn’t affect you. Trust me you are amazing and don’t let them take your confidence away from you❤️

    The truly dark side of this Karen meme is that many women (& men) will be so afraid of being called "a Karen" they won't assert themselves when it's appropriate. After many years' experience in serving & bartending, I'd much rather someone politely tell me something was wrong than they submissively pretend it's okay and then leave a bad tip and/or tell my manager on the way out...or worse, post a bad review online. Let's face it, the personality type that succumbs to this social pressure are usually passive aggressive: they want their voice to be heard but too fearful of looking bad to say it directly. We can't allow ourselves to be submissive after working so hard for our voices to be valid. It's good to be assertive.
    Unpopular opinion: these are the same people who are so afraid of being called "racist" that, despite never having empathized with the struggles of marginalized people before, are yelling "hashtag black lives matter!!" the loudest. Because it's trending, and that is their only barometer of socially approved opinion--I.e., what they're allowed to think. If you didn't care before, and you dismiss the death of David Dorn (& other so-called "collateral damage" deaths from the protests/riots--and this includes many black people, too)...then please do everyone a favor and STFU with your empty "activism." True empaths can see right through these lies, and a lot of people are being fake AF for the most self-serving reasons. (And I absolutely don't include Shallon in that category, FYI.)

      Jackie Corpron Yep, shutting a conversation down with ad hominems is the weakest, most pathetic way of saving face when you don't have substance to an argument. It's cheap & lazy and I'm tired of that tactic being given credence (from "ok boomer" to "take your meds"). It's the comeback of a childish mind who realizes they're out of their depth...and every time I call someone out on it, they slink away in disgrace. You can't convince people of truths they aren't ready to hear, but you can plant seeds.
      I knew the Karen thing was gonna be a problem when it was used against people on both sides of the covid lockdown measures divide. Notice a couple weeks ago, you were an evil, death-spreading Karen for not wearing a mask in a store, but now you're a Karen if you question why protestors get a free pass to ignore social distancing by those same people? (I'm not taking sides, just observing the hypocrisy.) As our society becomes more polarized, and people can't back up their claims with evidence (only feelings), it seems likely this trend will worsen.

    • @psychegoddessoflight6360
      @psychegoddessoflight6360 4 года назад

      Jackie Corpron Aww, you just made my day! 🤗. Our numbers are growing, as more people start asking questions about why the media lies/distorts facts constantly, what it is we're being distracted from, and wtf is going on in this world. Staying sane requires us to ride these events out like a wave and not get swept away in manufactured madness. The more people live in fear, the easier they are to persuade, and eventually control.
      The YT channel reallygraceful is such an amazing resource for learning about the truths behind the headlines. Quantum of Conscience is great for gaining perspective on what it's all about (not for beginners, lol). For beginners who are still into politics but asking questions abt the official narratives, The Hill is fantastic (a Bernie bro woman & her center-right husband). So is Dr Karolyn ?? (I'll edit), a former SJW who woke up to the game being played (although she went too far in the other direction for my tastes, her perspective & insight as a psychologist is invaluable).
      But as long as people watch TV or consume other mainstream media to get their info, they're being played...and it pains me to see good hearted people used as pawns to their own detriment. I had been an "intersectional feminist" hyper Lefty myself. Binary (all/none, yes/no) thinking is what got us into these problems--life is infinitely more complex, and we have to think "outside the box" to find solutions before we literally destroy ourselves. Again, those of us who know plant seeds...their minds will bloom into awakening in their own time. 🌺

    • @psychegoddessoflight6360
      @psychegoddessoflight6360 4 года назад

      Jackie Corpron A BEAUTIFUL spiritual awakening is occurring now. Humanity waking out of a very long slumber of wool pulled over our eyes: lies disguised as truth. It's a tough lesson to learn that we can't try to force anyone out of that slumber. Waking up is the hardest part...but it'll be easier on the next wave bc they won't be alone like we were. A rising tide lifts all ships. 🌊
      All acts done in darkness will come to light, sooner or later. "Three things cannot be hidden for long: the sun, the moon, and the truth" (lol I forget who said that). The hidden truths of this world are horrifying, but on the other side of that darkness is a love more profound than anything we could've previously imagined.
      Another good one is "It is easier to fool the people than to convince them they have been fooled." (attributed to Mark Twain, but unclear if accurate). I'll see you around. In the meantime, let them call us Crazy Karens! 🤷🏽‍♀️✨

    I disagree with your concept of 'white privilege' at @9:33 - I think white privilege and white entitlement are two different ideas... White entitlement is the classic Karen persona you mentioned - the idea SOME white people have that society should bow to their any whim or desire. In comparison, white privilege is not a characteristic of some white people but ALL white people - it is the absence of the struggle all ethnic minorities face in that their skin colour is NEVER a problem for them and will never be the reason that they are held back in life. If a white person doesn't get a job, it's likely they just were not qualified; if a black person doesn't get a job, it could be due to a racist boss or that they were unqualified. It's a privilege of ONLY white people to NEVER have to think about how their race might affect them negatively. This privilege is not an evil of a specific white person in the way that white entitlement (aka Karen-ism) is; you cannot choose to have white privilege in the same way you cannot choose to be white. It only becomes a problematic trait of a white individual if they fail to acknowledge it or perpetuate systems which enable white people to maintain this position in society. Hope I said this is in a clear way lol.

The reason why people flock to this channel is because we’re so tired of being victimized and taken advantage of simply because we allow it. Wynter Fox It's people (esp women) like us, who struggle to be assertive in some situations, that are at risk of having this Karen thing prevent us from being assertive. I sense a new wave of disempowerment of women coming out of this, and I don't like it one bit. Don't succumb to social pressure to be meek; your voice is valid.
      OP: if you're not familiar w the differences between "passive," "assertive," "authoritarian," "aggressive" and "passive aggressive," I'd suggest that as good start. I don't have a link ATM, but maybe try searching "communication styles." Or "how to be assertive."

    I'm from Poland and work in retail. We have soooo many Karens in here. We call the here Karen cause we know exactly what it means. Anywhere I've worked I had this unpleasantness of talking with polish karens everyday. 'I want to speak with the manager! I know my rights!' Heard it every damn time. In here there is also 'Madka' name for entitled mothers that thinks everything is spinning around them and they can get everything for free and so on. It's misspelled 'mother' in polish which is 'matka' not 'madka'. Those are the worst. In Poland if you have kids you are getting pretty good benefits and money from government and because of it a lot of people that just don't know what to do with their lives just makes kids. So a lot of those mothers think that because they are mothers they're superior then others and they should be first in the line, get free things and all that shit. So many memes about it we have here. Anyways that's the same situation. They feel power in the stores, restaurants and on the internet because that's the only thing they have. I learned how to work in situations like that but it is hard sometimes I won't lie

Her “real fans” (she distinguishes them for some reason) keep defending her with the boring old “people hate her because she’s pretty” but there’s been more beautiful women who don’t get into half the drama she stirs up i.e. Megan Fox and Marilyn Monroe (whom the public and press adooored). I like to think a lot of women and girls don’t realize they’re intuitively picking up there’s something “off” about her and that’s the reason why people find it hard to like her, and she gets SO UPSET people have an opinion of her.
    Something about that girl quietly screams toxic/manipulative but on a new and unfamiliar level because SNS feeds into it. She also very clearly got veneers but insists she’s “natural”. I genuinely think she’s crazy and I’m terrified of her lol.

    At the beginning of quarantine, I was talking to the customer service of a mall in my city to find out if I could return some clothes. They wouldn't help and I f- lost it. Soon enough I realized I had to apologize ( ughh I don't like apologizing, but I DID u.u). The problem with mean girls is not that they are having a problematic behavior, the problem is that they won't acknowledge they are being rude. And... you can't change what you don't acknowledge.

    Just to clarify, people can be privileged in some ways and not others. I’m not privileged with the amount of money I have, and I’m not privileged because I’m in the LGBTQ community, but I still have white privilege. I can walk into a store and not be stared at, I can find bandaids that are my skin color, etc. there’s different kinds of privilege but white privilege is incredibly clear since you can see it on your skin.

    Shallon, I really enjoy listening to the way you discuss and describe things and views I had never thought of before but make such sense.
    Regardless if you always get it right, it relates to me almost every time you have a subject to talk about.
    You can always find something similar that can relate back to my own life sure.. but again, how you see personality’s are so alike to my own it’s full on.

    In Germany we have those Karens who always have to critize everyone and everything (I once heard that in Germany critizing is seen more intellectual that being always satisfied and easy). We call them Karen or (male version) Justus Aurelius. Justus Aurelius is the son of doctors and also considers himself as one since elementary school. He always needs to be treated specially. Now he is studying medicine and is sponsored by his parents which is why he doesn't understand his priviledge.

    Your hair is especially bomb in this vid 😍😍😍 damn so basically we are learning today lea is literally who her character was on glee. One thing before I get into your video and hear you likely mention it yourself, I’m calling it now that she’s taking out much of her pain about her boyfriend dying of that heroin overdose/ her costar Corey, seemingly he was like the love of her life! That’s probably her hurt locker because I know it’s mine (the love of my life died of a heroin overdose in early 2017 😭) I know I can be a mean Karen as well, and mainly that’s when I began to feel “entitled” to heroin myself, because of all the pain it gave to me taking away the one I loved the most. I never tried heroin when he was alive, but once he died I truly felt like it owed me like that, learned the hard way I made a terrible mistake. But now my healing I’m working on isn’t just for my sake, but for his 🤍🙏😇 I don’t know what your take is on the paranormal- but I feel him everywhere and experience his presence everyday! Also, I swear when he was alive he was literally the male version of myself, and loving him was the ultimate way of the universe and God into tricking me into falling in love with myself. Hence now that he is “gone” I realiZe the more I love and get to know myself the more I further get to discover him!

    White women being offended by being called Karen is so annoying. Of course stereotypes are hurtful but you learn to live with it. Karen is not a stereotype towards white women. Karen is a label placed on a behavior caused by the entitlement of a white woman. All white women aren't Karen's yet, some are or can be. There is a difference, and it is very important to realise that difference.
    Another thing, white priveledge is a societal construction due to systematic racism. Changing the phrase to white entitlement is not enough. White entitlement seems like something that someone personally goes through while, white priveledge is an entire societal construction.
    Realise the difference. As you all know, words have power.

    For me, power=saying NO. Because of childhood abusement and suppression, I guess. I used to be the victim, now I am the one who calls the shots: I end a relationship, cut a friend off, quit a job. Usually I feel guilty about people I leave behind. I know I shouldn't, though. I don't know if it's bad but I am happy with my choices. :)

    Priviledge is not just about a social status, it goes beyond gender, sexuality, skin color, education, culture and language. All these factors give you this "entitlement", as you call it. Priviledge is both tangible and intangible. I believe, we all should keep working on awknowledging our different privileges to overcome the biases we have very internalized.

    Those types of Karens have always been around. They haven't recently morphed. Emmett Till's accuser was a Karen after all.
