So glad I grew up in the era of the truly great singers and song writers with unique styles and voices, such as James Taylor, Carol King, Phoebe Snow, George Benson, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, Kenny Rankin, the Manhattan Transfer just to name a few. The days when artists didn’t need to rely on balloons, light shows or vocal trickery just their raw talent to capture and hold their audience. Yeah, just one more reason I’m glad for my age. I got there when the getten’ was good. No regrets, just feeling blessed.
Yeah, really blessed&gratefull....also thinking of The Eagles, Leonard Cohen, Paul Carrack, Neil Daimond, Dire Straits,Eric Clapton, The Police, Sting, Van the Man and so on....76 and still njoying music 2 the fullest....&visiting concerts.....music, the love of the soul🙏🎉🎶🎼🎷🎸
No twerking, obscenity, simulated sex, and one-chord music with no melody featuring a bass drum. Those things might have their place but not while I am into the Music.
When listening to JT songs, all seems right with this crazy world. Even if for 3 minutes. Thank you JT, for bringing me such peace every time i hear you sing.
In my young heart at 69 years old, I could listen to James Taylor for the rest of my life! His band, his backup singers and I know his wife sings also, sometimes. I'd invite them to my house and they could play. I'd feed them and we would have a great time.😂 It's a dream I know, but a good one indeed.❤❤❤❤❤
I too am 69. I had his albums standing up on my clothes chest in my bedroom in my teens for years. My AR turntable and my Kenwood amp and JT was a defining, permanent memory of my high school years! If he should pass before me, well, a part of me will pass too.
We were soooooo blessed to have come of age during this magical time. JT has been a steady influence all these decades. The world is a better place because of him.
He came to my town - tickets were $300 EACH! EACH! I've always liked him - he plays great, and still has his voice - but face it - his staples are all over a generation old, and we've heard them all hundreds of times on the radio. I'd pay to hear him perform, too - but I won't be shelling out nearly $1000 (gas, meal parking, concert) for just over an hour of live music. Not in this reality...
I’m 45 and have seen him 11 times. I’ve been in the front row and I’ve been in the nosebleed seats. No matter where you sit it’s always an amazing show. A great band, simple stage setup and outstanding audio mixing. Then James picks up his guitar and starts playing and the world fades away for 2 hours.
I belong to the generation when James Taylor made a phenomenal rise during the esrly 70s. Coming from the Philippines, I’ve never seen a live concert of JT but all his songs I sing along. I’m excited to go and watch my first live concert of JT at Pine Knobs, Michigan and flying to Tanglewood, Mass on the 4 th of July.
Let it happen again fans, already born classical song writers deserve to become the best inspiration for young generations, who is willing to sing along? Let's get back that loving feeling 🎉❤🎉
The finest, highest level of musical artistry is on display here. Very emotional and inspiring. My hat is off to the artists and to the wonderful audience!
The songs of James Taylor are timeless and precious treasures of this earth. You can see your own life's reflections in every line of his song. I would send his songs to space so distant aliens may also enter this land of tranquility.
Saw him in 1982 in the gym at St. John’s University in New York when I was a student. Carly Simon joined him and special surprise guest Linda Ronstat. Little did I know how lucky I was……
Such a beautiful example of love, understanding, kind cooperation and humility that unites all people if we are open to it. Oh, and incredible musicianship!
❤ Those songs from the 60's and 70's were the best! James Taylor is so easy to listen to.❤ I'll always appreciate what James Taylor has done for music 🌞❤️ Love You James Taylor 💖
Thank you James Taylor for reminding me of the best time of my life and growing up to with the best generation of Rock and Roll music, we owe it all to the greatest artists of our lifetime from the 60s and beyond, and thank most of all our Lord for giving us the opportunity for make it possible; I am so proud and grateful for all the years in the greatest country of the planet and now I am enjoying my retirement in the Caribbean Island of the Dominican Republic, where I am from and had inherited my citizenship from my grandfather that was born in Puerto Rico, worked and lived in the United States for 53 of the best years of my life and would not forget them at all; Gods Blessings be upon you and your loved ones, like Carly Simons always…….
Saw JT and the Band in Auckland NZ, a couple of weeks back - just brilliant! Have been privileged to see him 5 times now, Tanglewood July 4 the best, but, he is such a professional musician, each concert magic. My wife and i love how his band and backing singers give him a more complex and rounded sound than just him and his guitar - which we also love!! Such energy too. Thanks James.
Much as I love watching and listening to James Taylor perform for a jazz enthusiast audience I love seeing such a lot of young people enticed by his singing and playing, pretty much as enticed as when 13 years old I discovered Dave Brubeck along with The Beatles!

I've seen so many James Taylor shows over the years (live or recorded) and he's so consistent it would be easy for one show to be essentially just like the next. But I'm always impressed as how he likes to put some tweaks into the arrangements to keep it novel. Check out that little jam at the end of Country Road... tasty!

Of all the 60's legends, this is the guy I would pay money to see live. What a great band he has backing him!

I’m seeing him next week at the Hollywood Bowl. Seen him a bunch of times. Never disappoints.
I saw him a few years ago in Manchester
No support band, he just came on and created that sound by tuning up his guitar and starting❤

I’ve seen him twice. Band’s so tight, voice as smooth as treacle and Arnold’s harmonies are a treat.
